It seems like you missed showing the most important part of the Ergo Clear recipe - throwing the MX Brown refuse in the furnace and listening to the demons that inhabited it shriek.

Clears are actually the only Cherry MX switches I like, and they've been on my daily driver for a few years now. Because of their weight, they're the only switches on which I can avoid bottoming-out without even trying. They have a very very unique, "bouncy" feel that I like.

Since I find MX reds to be too light, this seems like a no-brainer. Swap out the springs from a set of reds and a set of clears and boom: now you have a nice light tactile set and a nice heavy linear set!

Got a new job, was ready to get a real mech instead of the $20 "brown switch" Amazon special I'd been bearing with. Dived deep researching so i could get gūd on a budget. I knew i needed something actually tactile and heard of Ergo Clears. Found this vid and realized, you're exactly the person i needed to sub, and after researching switches you mentioned at 4:43, that kaihl box silent browns were what I needed. (Thank you for that video as well!) Got an EVGA Z15, yes I know it's not amazing, but it was everything I needed for $45. Ordered 100 switches for $45, and and here I am, with the best $90 keyboard ever. Still need some stab lube and pbt keycaps, but extremely happy so far, and it's thanks to you.

go for the ergo clears for sure. my blueberries have been collecting dust on my shelf for quite a while because of how odd the tactile bump feels. it feels like one big "oompfh" and thats it LOL. i dont know how else to describe it

Hey Glarses if you like Ergo Clears you should give the Penguin switches a try. They're pretty similar and sound pretty good imo.

This is the first time I have to rewind only to watch the typing test several times more.

Nice cinematic shot 8:18 magnolia is an amazing soundtrack, it works perfectly with the shot. Great job!

I never gave one poop about keyboards and sound profiles or any of that crap but I do care greatly for the vids Glarses make. They bring such joy!

When I bought a switch tester it came with all of the cherry MX switches, even some of the more obscure ones like clear, grey and white and I was genuinely surprised at the tactility of the clears compared to the anemic browns

My first mechanical keyboard will have Ergo Clears :) I tried a couple of switches (from cherry MX) using a little test kit and I found the browns to feel a bit scratchy, the clears nice but too heavy, and then clears with the springs of browns perfect! It's gonna be a lot of work replacing all the springs but probably worth it I think :)

Nicely done. I'm embarrassed to say how long I've gone without knowing exactly what Ergo Clears are, despite attempting to look it up a few times. Looking forward to more videos.

plot twist: glarses won't upload weekly to reach the 50 vids in a year but instead drop all 50 on new years eve

If it's inconsistent and noisy I call it "scratchy" - if its consistent and maybe even pleasant, I call it "textured". Example; I'd say Outemu browns are "scratchy" - Gateron Caps are "textured". Totally agreed about the Cherry Nylon housing. No stock Cherry is a favorite of mine - but those housings can make some lovely sounds.

i got a cherry mx clear board a year or so back and i tried to google whether it was good or not but i couldn't find anything on it online. Now I am happy.

Oh god the MODE 80 just sounds so clean, I love that higher pitched click the spacebar makes, it's the reason why I love the lubed holy pandas
