What Chemical Reaction Helps the Blasters Fly in Tremors 3? | Graboid Species Explored

Фильм және анимация

The uhhhh blasters from Tremors 3 are creatures capable of flight but only due to the chemical reaction they can produce out their back ends. But what is this chemical and how does it work? lets discuss that in todays episodes!
Thank you for watching Roanoke Gaming and I hope you enjoy What chemical reaction helps the blasters fly in Tremors 3? | Graboid species Explored

    Isn't there one stage we are forgetting here? It is a short one but crucial; the Dirt Dragons from Tremors 4. Mainly just being the infant cycle of the species since a 20 foot Graboid doesn't just pop out of a 10 inch egg and those little buggers have their own unique traits separate from the first seen stage of the creature.

    My theory, and possibly what could make the scenario scarier: *The Assblasters are the migratory stage of the Gravoid's lifecycle.* Also it's quite plausible that the Assblasters in the movie are from the group that Burt found in Argentina... Think about it, in order to move over larger distances to find food, the first stage is not exactly the best for that, so the flight ability is specifically made to fly over the rougher terrain and mountains that may be encountered when traveling. Also the fact that there had not been any Gravoid encounters in the area for such a long time, even if 'El Blanco' was dormant or quite possibly not even hatched until recently, a very late bloomer if you will. The lifecycle is more similar to that of the Monarch Butterflies, with the Shriekers being a sort of pupating stage.

  • @HinataElyonToph

    @HinataElyonToph

    3 жыл бұрын

    No, he explained it. A new graboid had hatched from an egg that the biologist had brought with him. They weren’t able to get the graboid before it reached shrieker stage, who then attacked the government workers and thereby got enough food to reproduce and make more shriekers. These shriekers then molted into the assblasters

  • @ProcyonDei

    @ProcyonDei

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@HinataElyonToph I know he explained, and I'm adding my own conjecture into it. Besides, the biologist did not bring the eggs, he only found it. It would not be out of character for the gravoids to migrate in such a way, and it is possible that the clutch the biologist found was indeed from some of the assblasters who managed to travel from the south. And that would explain why there were little to no gravoid sightings in the area for such a long time despite there being more movement. If gravoids do not migrate, then that makes the assblaster stage kind of redundant.

  • @redonslaught3019

    @redonslaught3019

    I don't think it's so much migration I see it more as the species just moved south over generations. In sequels they find a older breed in Canada... I would assume the blasters spread in a flower pattern rather than straight down, and lay the eggs in small clutches (seen in prequel) apart from others So the hatchlings wouldn't need to fight over a food source, and as they can lay dormant for prey to repopulate they wouldn't need to move back and forth. Think it was said the eggs can be dormant for 300 years, so laid around the 16-1700's. The Second Great American Extinction Event is said to be 1600s to 1900s So I would say it's possible they gorged themselves and spread across egg across the Americas. Not back and forth, just everywhere that's possible... If the Blasters go into the egg laying process ("the coma") after a small meal I can't see them migrating, as the attack anything they see so they wouldn't get far...

    @@redonslaught3019 it makes sense if you look at it this way though- Graboids hatch after ~300 years, are smarter, mostly aim for larger animals, taking out a bunch of stuff big enough to be a threat to shriekers Shriekers take out literally everything with body heat for miles around, spreading out and reproducing exponentially, eliminating any warm food along the way before developing into ass blasters Ass blasters start flying out with eggs, food motivated but unable to find any warm food inside the range of their graboid and shrieker parents, so they have to spread even further out. In theory, the graboids could hatch and have (for example) something like a 30 mile radius, then the shriekers could push that range out another 100 or so miles simply by looking for more and more food over their short lifespans, then the ass blasters form along the edges of the range (which would be scattered in a circle 130 miles from where the graboid started), fly away from each other to find the closest food, eat, lay egg, and die. 300 years later, after prey animals have returned to the area, it starts all over again, but this time with hundreds of new graboids over hundreds more miles of land.

  • @ComotoseOnAnime

    @ComotoseOnAnime

    Жыл бұрын

    @@Blasted2Oblivion I kinda came up with my own theory on the baby stage, basically it starts with graboids and they're pretty successful hunting in their era, I think initially they might have actually had multiple cycles to begin with as in the Graboid carrying several eggs in it's body that it then laid, which hatched into other graboids/dirt dragons. After the dinosaurs bit it, the eggs, instead of being laid to grow on their own, the graboids consolidated their resources and the eggs hatched inside their bodies, which allowed their young to gain a leg up on resources and potentially survive longer. This worked out great until the food got scarcer and scarcer and the dirt dragons that survived developed into Shriekers instead, these Shriekers eventually developed a sort of axolotl style of growth where they remained in their Shrieker form and basically survived in that form for a few million years and instead of growing into graboids which then made more dirt dragon/shriekers, they instead would upchuck the egg which turned into more Shriekers. This probably allowed them to both survive the extinction of the dinosaurs while also not needing extreme amounts of food, it also let them expand quickly when there was available food so they can survive long enough to find another food source, likely cannibalizing their fellows in the meanwhile. After a while this sort of constant food-starvation, food-starvation cycle would necessitate them finding a method to traverse areas quickly so eventually they ended up developing their assblaster method of reproduction which let them travel further and farther to get other sources of food in larger quantities which would have been recovering just about now into larger species of mammals. Due to their traveling further and farther as well as their rather linear genetic transfer due to asexual reproduction, their eggs were likely still capable of turning into graboids given the right resources. Once those resources were found, the ass blasters eventually developed more into a delivery mechanism as their slimline form likely couldn't easily expel the egg from either end it just developed into a resource gatherer with those that ate a lot going into a coma which would then allow the egg to hatch, eat it's way out as a baby dirt dragon and grow into it's graboid form to continue the cycle anew. The graboids native to perfection valley likely arrived their long ago by ass blaster and the graboids then just got stuck within the valley and eventually went dormant after it's shrieker cycle ate through most of the available food and died out, the remote flat area surrounded by extremely tall mountains making traversal even in ass blaster form difficult.

    I have a personal theory: The graboid species behave somewhat like army ants. The eggs hatch into the little ground dragons who eat small to medium animals. Then they turn into graboids, who hunt down and devour large predators and megafauna. Then the Shriekers devour any small to medium size creatures and replicate like mad, preferring simple swarm tactics to intelligence, now that the previous stage has removed any true competition. Then once food in the area is mostly exhausted, the hoard transform into ass-blasters, taking to the skies. Some stay to hunt down anything that’s left in the area, while others disperse in search of new hunting grounds immediately, repeating this process until they’re all eventually killed by the apex predators of their new environments. Then the eggs lay dormant for a few hundred years while the area repopulates. My theory as to their near-extinction and isolation is that ovivores got better at eating their eggs, turning their long gestation period into a crippling weakness. Thus they went completely extinct, save for a scarce few extremely isolated pockets. This would not have been helped by the mass extinction of megafauna which proceeded humanity’s expansion across the globe.

    I'd argue they're the _real_ migratory stage, able to leap and crawl across the surface. It would be perfect for traversing sections of solid rock, from their nesting grounds to a new territory. After all, Blanco eating the (second from) last blaster establishes the potential for cannibalism in their food chain, potentially putting hatchlings on the menu for older generations and vice versa.

    I've always had the idea that due to being from the Precambrian Era, the time period before known life began appearing in the Cambrian Era, that the Graboids were not only their own life cycle but their own food cycle as well. The Shriekers are able to reproduce so quickly because they were the food source for all three of their growth stages. Graboids hunt the Shriekers from below ground, Shriekers hunt each other above ground and Azzblasters could either hunt from the air or possibly act more like scavengers where they'd pick off wounded Shriekers or eat the remains of torn apart Shriekers and Graboids. For the eggs we learn from "Back to Perfection" that they need high heat in order to hatch, as shown by the eggs being near that hot water run off from the mine. So the life cycle could be the Azzblaster not just carries the egg but also incubates it and when the Graboid hatches from the egg it begins eating the Azzblaster from the inside out. This would give the Graboid a good source of immediate nourishment so it'd be able to go on its first hunt on a full stomach. The Graboid burrows down and then begins hunting the baby Shriekers, growing in size until it's reached maturity. After reaching maturity either it begins growing Shriekers as some sort of growth, like a cyst, or they develop via eating large amounts of food, like Shriekers do. Due to how quickly the Shriekers reproduce and grow it does really make me think that the Shriekers themselves evolved as the primary food supply for the rest of their species.

    I would disagree with your assessment regarding the assblaster's feet and talons. Talons used for gripping or slashing would definitely at least have an curved digit, a thumb or something, like that of an actual bird of prey. What we see are three digits which don't seem to be particularly articulate, only allowing enough motion to perch and walk, sort of like a vulture. This makes me think assblasters were probably hunting either small game or scavenging for the most part.
