26:50 no those are not APCs, my man. Those are M41 Bulldog light tanks. They’ve got a 76mm cannon and a single inch of steel separating the crew from whatever wants to send them to meet God. Also, I don’t know if individuals’ guns were spontaneously firing, but vehicle mounted coaxial machine guns are electrically operated, as is the main gun on tanks.

One detail I noticed in this movie was when the kids are loaded onto the bus the soldiers radio in that they have PC (Precious Cargo), which from what I understand usually makes any vehicle declaring that a high priority defensive objective. So the military guys get shown as a bit more than default evil if they're calling a bunch of kids they just arrested Precious Cargo, but also shows the alien as able to attack the bus and escape before the military can do anything. Which makes you wonder how the hell an alien this powerful was captured or held for any meaningful length of time.

Godzilla was notorious for this, because the screen time for the monster is always minimal, barring the VS movies.

Excellent video as always Roanoke! As for the necklace being let go, I always took it as him letting of his sadness over his mom and moving on with life. When this movie was filming I was married and the guy's grandmother lived where it was filmed, Weirton WV. So of course we went to visit her but really went to see the sets. Ex went to the same school and the same convenient mart the kids in the movie go to, and some of the houses they filmed at were his old neighbors. The water tower was only built to the first break in the uprights, the actual tank was CGI, and the factory that the kids mom died in was the same one that my ex's aunt used to work in (and may have caused an accident in, they were never clear on that lol). And the cemetery is where some of his family is buried, right by the maintenance garage the alien was digging in XD We saw all the cars and military vehicles they used parked in a vacant lot, but the security wouldn't let us close, it was all fenced in with cameras everywhere lol. But it was really cool to see how they transformed the town for the movie!

The worst part about this channel is that I have to watch the movies first before I can watch the vids. It’s very interesting seeing an alien monster that is also depicted with technology. Love the constant referring of children as younglings. Never fails to crack a smile outta me.

However he thinks that the engines back then were entirely cast iron. Only the block, head and crankcase were cast iron, the internals were steel. Cast iron moving parts would not handle all of those dynamic stresses.

@Roanokegaming so at 21:09 the jeep is not a civilian model. It's an M151 A2 mutt. Ironically built by Ford. It's got no key to start (but the starter button is at the bottom of travel for the clutch pedal).

Some corrections on the military vehicles: -The Jeep is a M151A2 “MUTT” -The “APC”s you mentioned are M41 Walker Bulldog Light Tank. One reason why their cannons are firing is that tank shells are fired by an electronically instead of the normal pin fired.

Absolutely love the alien's design. Especially the arms looking like their could slot together. It looks just humanoid enough for the audience to read it as sapient while also being, for a lack of a better word, alien.
