Most interesting. They dont use the thickest aluminium for the chassis, or the most powerful motors. What I am seeing is superb packaging of components, zero wasted space and short cable runs. 3:20 Also, look on the table behind... The whole weapon assembly comes out in a single piece which could then be disassembled further. You can clearly see the orange rubber 'shock absorbers' there.

It's messed up that battlebots doesn't have more of a character focused show going along side the fights. It would help build story and of course pretty much every battlebot creator is going to be fricking awesome one way or another. Thank you for highlighting End Game's team in this as well.

weirdly enough when they tried to make a show exactly like that both comedy central and the discovery channel pulled the plug HARD after everything had already been filmed edited gussied up and finished: they broke contract and locked the thing in a legal limbo making it so that if anyone wants to air the already finished series they'd need to win lawsuits against two different media companies. about the only thing they've done with it since is _both_ companies going after people who posted their own videos of stuff that took place during the event. ...not actually sure off the top of my head of thats actually different companies or "different" companies (no idea who owns comedy central and discovery).

Just solid engineering. Seeing how surprised Zachary is by END GAME's strategies really surprised me. They are simply doing normal lean and six sigma engineering. This is the first stuff drilled into college freshmen before they even start doing any static or dynamic calculations (Sorry, don't know how to properly express this in English). Rubber mounting everything to take off the edge, earthing yourself when you work on electronics, modifying existing designs to your specification, monolithic testing. You're telling me there are teams that don't do this? I always thought it was purely bot designs competing, but if these common sense practices aren't carried out by all teams I understand now why some designs with great potential just fail. It seems the time in-between fights is pretty hectic, so you NEED a good checklist and you need a common team "code" for a lack of a better word in my vocabulary. I don't mean to smack any teams, but it just surprises me greatly.

the comparison is because of the similar fundamental design goals: biteforce was almost literally _ALL_ about reliable controlled movement in particular it was (and presumably still is) particularly concerned about having the fastest recovery times possible after delivering a hit, the damned thing would fairly consistently hit a bot up into the air and _while it is still on the way up_ already be back settled on it's wheels and making it's way over to catch the other bot on it's way down all because something like half of biteforce's frame is designed as a spring to absorb and disperse and direct the weapon impacts. other than that Paul made no secret of the fact that he cares a great deal about groundgame, reliability of function, and intelligent prepwork. sooo...yeah, Endgame making it's way across the box in a calm collected manner maneuvering forks the length of the bot across the cracks and treating it's vertical spinner weapon as the flipping tool that it is is *_very_* "Orange Biteforce" heck if this video is to be believed then even the teams are pretty similar in their approach to how they actually work on things.

...is it weird that that comment actually made sense to me? anyways, 1: check required velocities (most of the formulas are all about interacting with bullets, a spinner weapons hits _fast_ but they do have tipspeed limits well below even a 9-mil) 2: check strength to weight: that stuff is usually used because it's really good at filling in odd spaces which isn't nearly as much of a requirement here. other than that...yeah, you'd essentially need to put it in a bag that's tough enough to survive the weapon hit for it to be _any_ use on multiple impacts in which case you're basically always gonna be better off just using the bag material for armor so I don't see it working as anything other than packing material for the 'bot's guts. possibly even decent packing material depending on how it deals with absorption/dispersal of both heat and shock-impacts...and zappy-shocks too for that matter. anyways you're _still_ having issues with bagging vs repeated use required and there are probably plenty of other good fill materials available, likely even purpose-built for similar tasks.

Obviously Endgame's engineering is solid. I like the fact that it uses FOUR drive belts. I'd think that roller chains would be even better. They tend to handle shock loads better. Belts break under heavy shock loads. Roller chains can take much higher shock loads than comparably sized rubber belts.

I really do like Tombstone but watching this Endgame looks years apart. Tombstone seems to be an old fashioned tubular design which looks quite a heavy method having to bolt the armour to it and if a weld cracks the structural integrity of the chassis goes quite quickly. Ray has also said about the frame twisting quite easily which seems like quite a big issue. Having almost a unibody that is the armour as well seems like a much stronger way to have a chassis, not only that but having it surround the wheels makes a lot of sense looking at Carbide. All the components not only shock mounted but slightly away from the edge of bot makes a lot of sense, Tombstone took a smallish dent to the rear armour and it hit the batteries. These as well as so many other design decisions. Maybe I’m totally wrong just my opinion.
