I have had problems with my shins for 28 years. I suffered severe tears while overstretching at awkward angle with my ankle. No pain when using them but pain at rest . The whole shins and knees start feeling sore at rest and nerve irritation too. I had a doppler scan recently that ruled out compartment leg syndrome and pad. Cannot get doctors to take me seriously.

I had shin splints when I started working at a supermarket. I'm hypermobile and I'm pretty sure the shoes didn't help. The job requires carrying g heavy crates through the shop and back area. I ought to buy boots if I'm honest, so I have some ankle support.

Last October, I got up from sitting down and then i couldn't walk, I was in incredible pain, community nurses came out and said it was a ligament injury, in the spring of that year I thought I had been bitten, but the little open pink sore never went away, its easy to see because I have olive skin. It's about has a big as a sixpence. Then the last couple of months I've been having shin pain, severe pain, during the night it feels like the bone is being stabbed. This morning when I got up I could hardly walk or put any weight on the left leg. I just got up from sitting, and it was difficult to walk again, do you think this is shin splints? I couldn't do those exercises because it is very tender and hurts a lot. I walk some with the dog, and I swim on my back, to give my legs and hip muscles and joints some other exercise that is relaxing. I am concerned because shin pain of a night is a symptom of bone cancer. But now I'm getting it during the day too.

Not sure it's wise to try these stretches until you're healed up.

What a terrible Karen style of a comment…. He provided a PERFECT explanation of what occurs, why it occurs and how to target the area in pain. There’s no pleasing some people in this would honestly, no matter how good of a job you do…
