It’s mind boggling how an infinite God used finite and fallible people to communicate to us His infallible word.

To imagine how completely hopeless and dead and unable to understand or do anything closely related to God would be if He weren’t here revealing Himself and opening eyes and changing hearts and minds since the beginning of time really is a humbling experience.

Awesome teaching from the late Dr Sproul.

How I wish he was still alive! He was indeed a great teacher, I adore him.

I only knew of RC Sproul after he died. I didn’t even know he was dead at first but I remember when I found out how much it hurt me. I don’t know many out there that is like him. I have not been Christian that long.

I used to listen to him a lot years ago, but had lost track of him in later years. I was shocked when I saw him with oxygen. It was sad to see him that way. When I heard the news, I started looking him up again and haven't stopped. The good thing is, he is no longer sick/suffering. And if we have repented and accepted Christ's pardon for our sins, we will also be with him and worship Jesus together forever! I can't wait!

I want to soak up each lesson of RC and have them written on my heart and soul. I want to have my life shaped by his lessons and be contagious with his lessons to other people.

I know for certain that the universe and the millions of species of animal and plant life did not create themselves. There is indeed a creator. As for understanding or knowing the mind of this creator, that is impossible for mere mortals..

And yet He has been kind enough to reveal so much of Himself through HIs Word! Sure, we can't understand everything, fully. But He has shared with us much of his heart and thoughts. I find that astonishing that a God so great would do that for us! He didn't have to do that!

I admire this Philosophers books and his preaching.

His teaching is basically saying that our invisible God does not have a 100% image but we have pieces of analogies of him because he is invisible. Which i agree!

When he starts talking about how people abuse the idea that God is infinite and we can't understand him I think of the trinity. People say we can not understand the trinity because its Incomprehencable.

Where is he not. True he can reveal or withdraw himsef. In Malachi we find God did not speak for 400 years, but still God was in every thing around us. Isn't it wonderful we can find him when we seek for him with all of our heart, our being. Enjoy Bible study. Thanks.

Being has a tendency to 'return' to clusters ='the nature of solidarity' -a desire for empathy -(Wave)-(yin) and also, Being has a tendency to 'exist' as individuals ='the nature of self-expension' -a desire for breed-(Particle)-(Yang) Likewise, humans have two elements. We must realize that we all have both left and right elements =Solidarity and Self reliance No one has only one element. so 'Sum' derived from 'two poles' , (thesis, antithesis, synthesis) To develop intellect and ethics by harmonizing the two, It is good to realize it and balance it properly But A few people polarized the crowd(political partisanship) without balancing themselves. And They stole only the sum, only the synthesis from the triangle composition. Now We all have to get out of this deceptive situation. This is not the time for us to hate each other. We have to track down those who have been manipulating us.

If I was writing it I would never use the word beginning referring to the word oh, he did a poor job explaining it or the Holy Spirit whose writing it? Come straight out nevermind beginning verse 3 the same was in the beginning with God? Come straight out No Beginning No End Jesus and God and the Holy Spirit if they're all in one? The same chapter verse 18 it's been translated the only begotten son, the real translation is the only firstborn God, has explained him to us

And God likens us to a 🌳 tree

Matthew 23:2 Jesus said; ""The teachers of law and the pharisees are seated in the chair of Moses, therefore do whatever they tell you, and observe it."" Does that contradict what you've been taught about Paul? Here we have Jesus telling us to observe what they say about what Moses wrote. How do Christians get past this?

That all the Law of Moses and the Prophets was fulfilled in Christ Jesus. We are saved by Grace, through Faith. It it not of ourselves so that no one can boast. It is a Gift from God.

you did not quote holy scripture correctly, qw2. it reads : The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses' seat, 3 so do and observe whatever they tell you, but not the works they do. For they preach, but do not practice. 4 They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger. - matthew 23 : 2 - 4

No proof of Alexander the Great either. Yet history says he did exsist. When it comes to history you look for evidence, you will never get proof. Proof is something repeatable and can be tested. You can't test or repeat the Revolutionary War. You just need evidence.
