It takes time and a team mentality/understanding. Getting to the point where it is instinctual is rare and honestly only Birds Celtics seem to have reached the highest level. I don't know much about basketball.......that is the only team that passed where I don't understand how anyone received them. It was crazy fast with way to much stuff going on for it to be called out.

@@brgilbert2 They were 21 points down going into the fourth quarter and Clark almost single handedly brought them back to within 3, it was amazing! She ended up with 29 points, 13 assists, 5 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 blocks. Those stats have never been equaled in the WNBA or NBA in history.

@@ThulgoreMagic's Lakers were also making crazy no-look passes. Even the Pistons had a few. But Larry Bird's Celtics had it down to perfection. And the reason they, and to a lesser extent the Lakers, were so proficient at that play style was practicing catching everything Bird/Magic threw at their teammates. And since Clarke seems to be going for that same playstyle, her Fever teammates need to adapt to her, or they will continue to lose. And she'll become an exciting footnote, like Pistol Pete, with no WNBA Championships.

No, many of the turnovers were lazy passes, and eyesight problems. CC only had 5 of the 20+ turnovers and even CC had a couple that was inexcusable. The other turnovers were just 'shake my head' crazy plays from her teammates. There were three turnovers from CC's 5 that were absolutely her fault, a lazy pass cross court, one right into the opposing team, and she committed a crazy roll the ball around on the court turn over. Everyone on the team was giving the ball away.

The team needs to learn to catch a ball.Caitlin is 2nd in the league in assists. Those assists would be a lot higher if her passes were caught. The fever team are a much better team with Caitlin running the ball. It looks like the media is always trying to knock Caitlin down a peg. They have:" Caitlin Clark Derangement Syndrome" for whatever reason.

I think either Sides is a very incompetent coach or she's getting instructions by Fever or WNBA upper management to sabotage Clark's game. For instance, in the Mercury game, Clark only needed 1 more rebound to get a triple double and Sides took her out of that game. In this game, Sides drew up plays towards the end of the game that didn't even allow Caitlin to be a part of and it was Catlin who brought them all the way back from a 20 pt deficit. Why? It doesn't make sense. Was it because to keep Caitlin out of the spotlight? I don't know but something is definitely going on because it doesn't make sense to me and a lot of other fans besides me as well. 🤔

Well maybe she might be ahead of the class.For example MJ went to the NBA after 2 years of college, and became an overnight sensation,KG right out of highschool, Moses Malone, need I say more. Now we have a Caucasian straight female girl with no excess baggage that's turned a league upside down, and this wasn't supposed to happen. Katie Lou needs to either get more playing time and start hitting shots or they need that woman that is coming back from a knee injury to get healthy. Smith is an odd one and I can't put my finger on it, but she plays good and not so good at the exact same time. I don't know. But her good out weighs the oddity of her play so until the knee injury woman gets better or Katie Lou starts hitting, then Smith is an option. That is how I see it anyway.

Despite her incredible games and improvement, the league and sports media are hard at work trying to rob Clark of due credit and the ROTY award. Today I clicked on a notification from ESPN that said “Angel Reese calls for ball in final seconds and makes free throws to keep her double-double streak alive” but by the time I got to the article they had changed the headline to say: “Reese’s double-double record now at 14.” The first headline must have sounded too much like stat padding, which of course would have been accurate. The revised headline shows the politics going on behind the scenes at ESPN. Meanwhile they love talking about Clark’s turnovers. They are committed to their biases, not to honest reporting.

She's just like Larry Bird. Give her the ball, just like Larry and let her decide what play to make and who to pass it to. To coach her to draw defense and pass it away like that 1. Let's your player know that you don't believe in her and that you as a coach lacks courage. This can sideline the momentum of courage in a player and also can act as a diminishing effect on the spirit of the player. But 2. To ask a player to kick it out to a player who has been cold, man, that's sad. I think it was Jason Kid who said that he'd look for hot hands. If someone is on fire then keep it going. Fever has a chance here, but this is so sad. I have to agree that it's the coach. The coach lost the game. There are other coaches out there who know the game. I have no clue why they don't fire this coach. She's a poison to the team and talent. It's as if the owners or those in charge don't know the game. They HAVE a chance THIS year. They beat a top team and have great momentum. I see now that the coach is ruining it. She's driving the team into the ground. Time to call Larry Bird.

There is speculation that the owner wants a tax write off for the team, so he is doing nothing to influance the general manager to fire the coach. Alzo speculation that the gm likes Sides, also that they didn't really want CC so they don't want to play to her strengths.

The only problem I have with that excuse is that in previous years, they picked players because of what they did in college ( DT first Olympics ). I'm not upset that CC isn't on the Olympic team, but the excuses they made were just bs. There are a few players that actually deserved to be on it instead of some they picked.

That turn over stat is bullshit. My son played AAA hockey and the coach was smart. He told his teammates to keep their sticks on the ice because you never know when the puck is going to be on your stick. They call that vision, it’s not Clark’s fault at all the girls have to be ready when Clark has the ball. These turnovers aren’t Clark’s, they’re her players that can’t catch on.

I would not make a big deal about the turnovers. The amount Caitlin is handling the ball means she is going to have more turn overs. It is part of the game. After all, one of the years Babe Ruth broke the Home Run Record, he also broke the Strike Out Record.

Mitchell 0-8? Man, she is never that bad is she? I've seen her when they are on a run, all of them pulling of great moves - she is solid money. But when the heat is on? when they down? Something gets in her head and messes her up. Aint just her. Lot of good players deal with that.

Mitchell tried to play me ball, instead of team ball. If she would of just went to make a play, assist, pass or easy layup. But I don't like the way she plays, she's too of a wild card. All she has to do is wait for the ball, if it's not there, pass, make a run to the inside and CC would find her every time. She forces the shot and this time she didn't want to accept it and cause the team the game.

If im the Fever owner, I fire the coach and look for a team orrintated coach. Not a woke one that can't adjust her game plan to fit the players, specifically your superstar Clark. Next, I go out and get girls being disrespected just as Clark is who are also team orientated. Muhl in sealtle comes to mind. She is seen as a bench player, so you won't have to trade much for her. She's a game changer in a team orientated game plan. I find a 7 footer that dominates in the paint on the defense. I would also consult with Clark if each prospect would be a player that she thinks she could work with. At this point you have to huild the team around Clark. Shes phenom.

No callback to an exactly same kind of incident from her college-days where she just pushes people off with both hands when being face-guarded. She doesn't like being face-guarded because when properly done she's not able to get the ball. Also no mentioning of the shove off with her backstep 3. Last time i watch this channel. It takes time and a team mentality/understanding. Getting to the point where it is instinctual is rare and honestly only Birds Celtics seem to have reached the highest level. I don't know much about basketball.......that is the only team that passed where I don't understand how anyone received them. It was crazy fast with way to much stuff going on for it to be called out.

@@brgilbert2 They were 21 points down going into the fourth quarter and Clark almost single handedly brought them back to within 3, it was amazing! She ended up with 29 points, 13 assists, 5 rebounds, 5 steals and 3 blocks. Those stats have never been equaled in the WNBA or NBA in history.

@@ThulgoreMagic's Lakers were also making crazy no-look passes. Even the Pistons had a few. But Larry Bird's Celtics had it down to perfection. And the reason they, and to a lesser extent the Lakers, were so proficient at that play style was practicing catching everything Bird/Magic threw at their teammates. And since Clarke seems to be going for that same playstyle, her Fever teammates need to adapt to her, or they will continue to lose. And she'll become an exciting footnote, like Pistol Pete, with no WNBA Championships.
Those young ladies are playing their hearts out and it’s maddening when you see bad coaching decisions hurting them.

No, many of the turnovers were lazy passes, and eyesight problems. CC only had 5 of the 20+ turnovers and even CC had a couple that was inexcusable. The other turnovers were just 'shake my head' crazy plays from her teammates. There were three turnovers from CC's 5 that were absolutely her fault, a lazy pass cross court, one right into the opposing team, and she committed a crazy roll the ball around on the court turn over. Everyone on the team was giving the ball away.

The team needs to learn to catch a ball.Caitlin is 2nd in the league in assists. Those assists would be a lot higher if her passes were caught. The fever team are a much better team with Caitlin running the ball. It looks like the media is always trying to knock Caitlin down a peg. I think either Sides is a very incompetent coach or she's getting instructions by Fever or WNBA upper management to sabotage Clark's game. For instance, in the Mercury game, Clark only needed 1 more rebound to get a triple double and Sides took her out of that game. In this game, Sides drew up plays towards the end of the game that didn't even allow Caitlin to be a part of and it was Catlin who brought them all the way back from a 20 pt deficit. Why? It doesn't make sense. Was it because to keep Caitlin out of the spotlight? I don't know but something is definitely going on because it doesn't make sense to me and a lot of other fans besides me as well. 🤔
The women’s Olympic team lost 11 major sponsors when they opted not to pick the MVP in the league to join the team. 😂

Their reason will be that, she doesn't have the experience yet. Well maybe she might be ahead of the class.For example MJ went to the NBA after 2 years of college, and became an overnight sensation,KG right out of highschool, Moses Malone, need I say more. Now we have a Caucasian straight female girl with no excess baggage that's turned a league upside down, and this wasn't supposed to happen. Well deal with it, she is successful, just watch and learn from her, and do your best, and odds are, you'll be successful too.

For someone that supposed to be a defensive coach I find it hard to believe she knows anything about defense....junior high players play better defense than the fever.....they turn their back on the ball,don't switch or switch back,they being backdoored to death and don't anticipate anything.....if they can play zone they need to cause their man to man sucks and maybe they'd watch the ball instead of passes flying right over their head for layups.....CC is ROY

That new lineup AFTER beating a great Liberty team has got to be one of the most boneheaded coaching decisions in any league at any level. IF IT ANT BROKE, DON'T FIX IT. But NOOOOOOO!!!! SIDES JUST GOTTA SCREW IT UP SOMEHOW. Before this season is over, Sides won't be able to walk down the street in peace. She will be despised.

Remember Sides before 2023 had never been a head coach at any level her entire career- not even a high school coach. She’s probably over her head, this team needs at least a Bluder level, and ideally better level strategist running this team.

Lexie Hull was a great move! What makes it stupid is the 2nd and 3rd quarters where she rotated her out and rotated anyone and everyone in. Then finally going back to Lexie Hull in the 4th which almost salvaged the game along with CC.

Katie Lou needs to either get more playing time and start hitting shots or they need that woman that is coming back from a knee injury to get healthy. Smith is an odd one and I can't put my finger on it, but she plays good and not so good at the exact same time. I don't know. But her good out weighs the oddity of her play so until the knee injury woman gets better or Katie Lou starts hitting, then Smith is an option. That is how I see it anyway.
Women's team USA are looking like idiots now. Clark is shredding the league.

Despite her incredible games and improvement, the league and sports media are hard at work trying to rob Clark of due credit and the ROTY award. Today I clicked on a notification from ESPN that said “Angel Reese calls for ball in final seconds and makes free throws to keep her double-double streak alive” but by the time I got to the article they had changed the headline to say: “Reese’s double-double record now at 14.” The first headline must have sounded too much like stat padding, which of course would have been accurate. The revised headline shows the politics going on behind the scenes at ESPN. Meanwhile they love talking about Clark’s turnovers. They are committed to their biases, not to honest reporting.

The league is going to defend a lot of the black females that are in the league simply because they are tall. Now a lot of these younger ladies black and white are coming out of college faster, smarter and not sitting on their fat ass bit-chin all the time. They want to win. It’s a good thing for the league imo.

CC’s turn overs should start to get better as she gains experience with WNBA defense. Also her teammates should get better at catching the ball that CC is threading the needle with. I don’t think most of them have seen a player with this type of assist ability.

Lexie Hull played lights out, yet the rotating chair of subs in the 2nd and 3rd quarter by the craziness that is Sides makes you wonder before she finally put Lexie Hull back in the game in the 4th.
Christy Sides is a trash coach. Period. Full dead stop. Clark's turnovers are due to playing with a team full of Edwina Scissorhands who fumble away too many dimes.

I don’t think Christie Sides knows how to utilize the strength of her players. I can’t wrap my head around why she would switch out her starters when they just won a close game. She’s not paying attention. She’s not present in the moment. She making some poor choices. 😳🙄🙄🙄

I'm 68 and it seems to me that the coach here has no vision for this team,looks like all you hear her say is we need to get better but you don't see it transpiring, she is not a coach. Period.
You know when you pass the ball to a team mate that can’t make a wide open lay up we need to get some help from the bench but that won’t happen because they have a coach who is totally blind it’s unbelievable “WOW” 😮

She's just like Larry Bird. Give her the ball, just like Larry and let her decide what play to make and who to pass it to. To coach her to draw defense and pass it away like that 1. Let's your player know that you don't believe in her and that you as a coach lacks courage. This can sideline the momentum of courage in a player and also can act as a diminishing effect on the spirit of the player. But 2. To ask a player to kick it out to a player who has been cold, man, that's sad. I think it was Jason Kid who said that he'd look for hot hands. If someone is on fire then keep it going. Fever has a chance here, but this is so sad. I have to agree that it's the coach. The coach lost the game. There are other coaches out there who know the game. I have no clue why they don't fire this coach. She's a poison to the team and talent. It's as if the owners or those in charge don't know the game. They HAVE a chance THIS year. They beat a top team and have great momentum. I see now that the coach is ruining it. She's driving the team into the ground. Time to call Larry Bird.

There is speculation that the owner wants a tax write off for the team, so he is doing nothing to influance the general manager to fire the coach. Alzo speculation that the gm likes Sides, also that they didn't really want CC so they don't want to play to her strengths.

The people that know basketball know the the turnovers are on her teammates who can't catch the ball and make themselves unavailable when she double and triple team.so sick of pointing out what she does wrong, versus everything she does right

The only problem I have with that excuse is that in previous years, they picked players because of what they did in college ( DT first Olympics ). I'm not upset that CC isn't on the Olympic team, but the excuses they made were just bs. There are a few players that actually deserved to be on it instead of some they picked.
That turn over stat is bullshit. My son played AAA hockey and the coach was smart. He told his teammates to keep their sticks on the ice because you never know when the puck is going to be on your stick. They call that vision, it’s not Clark’s fault at all the girls have to be ready when Clark has the ball. These turnovers aren’t Clark’s, they’re her players that can’t catch on.
Once again, should have had a lot more assists , but her teammates couldn't make open shots .
Clark is playing NBA (minus dunks) the rest of the league is playing WNBA.

Breaking records in her rookie season on the worst team in the league from last year. Wow. Imagine what she'll do when that team acquires a couple good players to compliment her. Serena is still the goat of women's sports for me, for now, but Caitlin looks like she's the next one.
CC may have had 5 turn overs today, but te team had 24.

You hear a lot of broadcasters say the coach is playing the percentages. Coach Sides does not know what that means.
I would not make a big deal about the turnovers. The amount Caitlin is handling the ball means she is going to have more turn overs. It is part of the game. After all, one of the years Babe Ruth broke the Home Run Record, he also broke the Strike Out Record.

Mitchell 0-8? Man, she is never that bad is she? I've seen her when they are on a run, all of them pulling of great moves - she is solid money. But when the heat is on? when they down? Something gets in her head and messes her up. Aint just her. Lot of good players deal with that.

Mitchell tried to play me ball, instead of team ball. If she would of just went to make a play, assist, pass or easy layup. But I don't like the way she plays, she's too of a wild card. All she has to do is wait for the ball, if it's not there, pass, make a run to the inside and CC would find her every time. She forces the shot and this time she didn't want to accept it and cause the team the game.
She had her hand in 65 of the teams 84 points! Half of her turnovers are due to teammates fumbling.
Most of Clark's turnovers have been from her teammates lack of ability to receive passes. They are getting better, but hey still need improvement.

The only video I watched was the 5 minute variety. Let me be clear, I haven't watched professional sports in quite a while, ever since the Seattle Sonics left Seattle. I have watched a few games during the Bird & Magic era and fewer games during the Jordan era and of all those games I watched I cannot remember ANY one team committing 23 turnovers let alone 10 turnovers. If im the Fever owner, I fire the coach and look for a team orrintated coach. Not a woke one that can't adjust her game plan to fit the players, specifically your superstar Clark. Next, I go out and get girls being disrespected just as Clark is who are also team orientated. Muhl in sealtle comes to mind. She is seen as a bench player, so you won't have to trade much for her. She's a game changer in a team orientated game plan. I find a 7 footer that dominates in the paint on the defense. I would also consult with Clark if each prospect would be a player that she thinks she could work with. At this point you have to huild the team around Clark. Shes phenom.
I hate what's going on with the Indiana Fever because their wins always a hard wins.

I rarely see fault in coaches but Christie Sides has a huge ego(still wondering why?) and no game/player savy. The Fever can be a championship team but not if butthead runs the show.

This reminds me of Michael Jordan and the bulls, in his rookie season he was scoring a lot but there was not much talent beyond Jordan. Basically what they did was build around Jordan, that is what they need to do with Clark.
Every problem that you define is the coach's job to correct. Too bad Caitlin didn't bring her coach with her from Iowa.
It's just frustrating. I don't understand how you know well that if you keep feeding her the ball, she'll keep scoring but you don't do it. The chemistry between Clark and Boston was well established. I don't see it anymore. Maybe because they want less Clark and more Mitchell. How is that working out for them?

Mitchell has had a good year and a good history of making 3's so I am not going to pin all the blame on Side's mistakes or CC's turnovers, just because Mitchell had a highly unexpected and very rare bad shooting night from beyond the arc.
Sides isn't smart enough to set up the double picks Iowa ran to free up CC to shoot. And she can't adjust the defense for the same reason.
The Fever need a shot blocker/rebounder. A blind man can see they are weak in the low post area.
Some of the people on Caitlin Clark's team for whatever reason are taking a dive!!!
