In this video men's style, grooming, fitness and lifestyle expert, Aaron Marino of IAmAlphaM, AaronMarino, and Pete & Pedro is on another shopping safari! He's shopping for dark washed jeans at different price points including designer.
The Review
1. American Eagle ($59 each but buy-one-get-one 1/2 off) - he purchases both non-distress extreme flex wash which is is super comfortable & AWESOME as well as the the distressed pair. Great deal!
2. 7 For All Mankind ($248) - they were crazy super long and super stretchy. He really disliked them, and $248 is too expensive.
3. Diesel ($225) - Thommer distressed style fit great. These are the most expensive pair of jeans he ever purchased (which is a downside), but the pair reminds him of his favorite Jack Threads slim fit jeans.
4. J Brand ($178) - Hood non-distressed dark wash are the MOST comfortable & soft jeans he's ever put on. They are slim through the legs, the front is flat, and fly lays nice & clean.
5. GAP ($69 regularly but on sale for $39) - slim fit stretch denim is incredibly comfortable but does not have as much stretch as American Eagle. The price is the best part. He picks these jeans as the best because they're age appropriate, they have the best selection of washes, and they're not real trendy.
6. Levis ($74) - two way stretch advanced technology are solid & quality jeans, but he's not in love with these as much as the other jeans.

Really too bad, because the old Sevens are the best jeans ever made in the history of jeans! By a long shot! Now I just buy used Levi's & Lucky's from thrift stores. All new jeans are terrible! Cheap garbage, made with the lowest quality materials & they play hopscotch with 3rd world factories! You'll never get the same fit! 1 is made in Ecuador & another is made in Vietnam! You never know what to expect!

In Europe, Diesel is the boss. Can’t compare it with no other brand. Always available in a great selection of lines like Sleenker, Buster, Thavar, Thommer, Theppar and so on. What Diesel does differently is how they construct each of these lines and the fit they provide. They do not fit the same and sizes are always available either long and short to suit your height so you don’t have to roll up the hems like you do with most of these other brands. Quality wise, they last for like forever. The Sleenker is definitely my favourite line of house. Can’t go wrong with the Sleenker. Absolutely unique.

I love my Levi's. 502 regular tapered is what I last bought. The only downside of Levi's is inconsistency in sizing and fitment, they take a lot of trying on. But when they fit, they never disappoint. I'm gonna throw some rust coloured Timbs under there, cuff em up and keep rocking.

  • @DuyLe-if4eb

You only need to try any style of Levi's jeans once to find out your comfortable size, after that you can buy them online without fitment mistake. I bought many Levi's jeans 505 510 511 512 513 514 but mostly 511 in different classes (entry, premium, made & craft) without any problem of fitment. I also have the same experience with Nudie jeans. But Diesel jeans are the challenge for me to find out the comfortable size because they do not have the same sizing and fitment for all styles. With Diesel you should go to the store to try every jeans you want to buy.

I just spent the weekend updating my jeans look too and have the same problem trying to find something under a 30 length. Finally had the nerve to buy something that wasn’t loose/baggy or even straight legs. The day after buying a couple of them with the slim fit a little long I found the perfect Levi’s with the exact length at a Ross for $19. I added those to my collection too. Now to get used to the slim fit!

The thing I've noticed about Levi that I really don't like is the fit is inconsistent. I have a 34'' waist and yet I can wear two different pairs of 34'' Levi's and they won't fit the same.

  • @freezingCode

I too have spent a ton of money trying to find the right brand of jeans. Who knows how many thousands I’ve wasted in my adulthood. I found a brand at the buckle called Departwest that are awesome, super stretchy, fit so well, have tons of washes and colors and... are prices between $50-65! I personally go for their Trouper or trouper skinny.

I watched this video a month ago and time came that I went jeans shopping. I was wearing a few pairs of jeans for at least 3 years and some wore out and one even looked big on me as I lost some weight so thought I needed to get a pair or two. I revisited this and decided on Levi's. I tried slim fit for the first time (511, the exact model on this video LOL) and they looked and felt great! They had a promotion running so I got two, a regular wash and a slightly faded one for wait for it...$74. :D Even went so far as to have them alter the jeans as they were a bit too long. Now I have proper jeans that fit. Thanks for the inspiration!

I grew up wearing Levi's, Guess, and Z. Cavaricci jeans. Now I have several pr of Levi's, several BKE (The Buckle brand jeans), Buffalo (also came from The Buckle), Departwest (also from The Buckle), even a couple pr of brown Wrangler jeans that I got cheap but are very comfy. My favorite I've found as far as quality, look, and a medium price range (keeping it under $100)...... a little higher than Levi's are the BKE jeans. They only sell at The Buckle but are great jeans. Definitely my go to brand and I recommend to everyone. For around $70 I feel it's the best denim you can get. I've sworn by BKE for the last decade.
