I had a painless lump for years, that my Doctors dismissed every time I asked about it.. Every now and then, when eating certain foods, I would feel a tightening sensation in my gland area, and a tingling under my tongue, and my mouth would water a bit.. I finally had a Doctor take my concerns seriously, and she thought it was a calcium stone, and surgically removed it.. There was a biopsy done, and it came back as cancer.. I now have to undergo radiation treatment..

I was diagnosed with stage 3 parotid gland cancer 9 months ago. I'm 41, healthy, a non smoker and a non drinker. The inly symptom I had was a swell in my left jaw. When my doctor told me that the biopsy was inconclusive, I pretty much expected it to be cancerous. What was supposed to be a 4 hour surgery to remove the tumor turned out to be 10 hour surgery. I had 56 lymph nodes removed as it has spread that far. I went for 30 sessions of radiotherapy 2 months after my surgery. It was mentally and physically exhausting. I completed all 30 sessions mid June. It's been 5 months since my treatment and I'm still having side effects of surgery and radiotherapy. Some days are good, some days are bad. But hey, as Bob Marley said, "You'll never know how strong you are, until being strong is your only option." I hope you are doing okay and taking each day as a blessing. You shall overcome 💪

If it does break through the skin to drain, is it possible for the cancer and or stone blocking the gland to be removed and the salivary gland healed?
