Hello. I didn’t include a cover letter on my citizenship application. If you feel you wanted to say some explanation or clarifications on your application, I think it’s ok to include a cover letter, but I think it’s not required if your application is straight forward application.

Would it be suitable to prove my residency for the UK naturalization process with just a HMRC letter or subject access request letter from HMRC which states my employment, tax contributions etc during my time in UK? I filled in the application for British citizenship online and I was expecting there to be a point where I would be able to upload all the supporting documents. But there wasn't. There is no "further actions" on my application. Instead I was given a document checklist with an address on, so that I can post the documents. Seeing as I live overseas, that seems a bit silly, but I cannot for the life of me find any information about where I can send scanned copies of my documents. Do you know why that is? :)

Hello, as of now, it seems that consent form was not required as part of my citizenship application process, is that ok? The only mandatory documents they required were the references and their signatures (alongside the checklist they gave with passport, degree certificate etc) but no consent forms. I'm not applying on behalf of anyone but myself and also during the online application process, I was asked to declare that I am the applicant (which I checked the box for, obviously). Hi Chalin I would like to thank you for your important information on Wednesday 04th of August I had my citizenship Ceremony and on Thursday 05th I sent my documents from Royal Mail registered I track my documents and said that they have delivered my documents on Friday 06th but the passport office didn’t send any email to confirm that they received the documents should I wait or what I should do it ? Hello. Yes this happened to me. I thought there was something wrong. Just wait for another day or two and they will update the status. It might be that they haven’t logged that they have received. your documents but what’s important is that you know that it was delivered to the passport office.

Hello. 1. Your ILR or permanent residency card 2. I’m not sure. I haven’t tried this one. But it should be easy to create another account if you have to. 3. If you are a spouse of a British citizen, yes you can apply already. If not, you need to wait for 12 months of having ILR before you can apply for British citizenship.

My question is about Referees. What axactly does the referee 's need to do. Also which people should act as referees when doing the application process.Thank you.

The Referees confirm your identity and also you can use you're friends or a work colleague as your referees

Hello. I only used my passport. Some people also submitted their P60 during the time they are living in the Uk, and employer’s letter indicating your presence in the Uk to give more evidence.

Hello. Mine took 7months. Others took more than that but also some quicker than that (I know someone who got it in 4 months). The Gov website says it could take up to 6 months. It really varies.

I got question. I got my ILR last month and going to apply naturalisation soon as I married with British citizen. Do I need 3 years proof of living evidence like bank statements and utility bills..????

Hello. If you’ve got ILR, you can apply for British citizen after 12 months. You need to show proof of living for 5 years in the UK. On your online application, towards the end, it will show you what documents you need to submit to meet this requirement.

@@adiivlogs7103 oh, I misunderstood your question. I used only my passport as a proof of living here for 3 years. Some people submitted their P60, HMRC letter stating the tax you’ve paid, employer letter - all if you work here in the uk. Bank statements and utility bills are not considered as proof of living in the uk.
