Very good video. I always suggest synthetic gut for kids and always below 50lbs. Also for adults when they have bad technique but come asking for polys, i suggest them synthetic or multis. They sometimes understand that bad technique+polys+high tension equals to disaster. Tennis elbow, wrist, shoulder, etc.

Great post! It’s always a hassle when I try to string my 10-year old son’s racquet. The stringers all seem to have different opinions and I don’t want my son to get injuries at his age.

@@davidglover9210 My local club has only poly to offer. Driving 20 miles to another stringer that only strings during normal working hours is not an option for a white collar. There’s less and less stringers around, padel has unfortunately taken over northern Europe and tennis clubs struggle economycally. My son plays with quite a lot of topspin, he didn’t like the synthetic strings used a while ago and the coaches don’t teach them how to hit flat shots. After seeing this clip I’m a bit more aware what’s available for kids. Maybe TF Triax could be something?

@@JacObi-Wan-KenObi Another problem is finding a good stringer. I've been stringing for about 40 years and I don't know anyone I'd trust to do my rackets. Might be worth buying a second hand machine. I have a Prince Neos 1000 which is discontinued so you might pick one up cheap. Also I use Technifibre Multifeel which is a nice string and not too expensive and you can buy online.

If they're not breaking strings and they play in a relatively dry environment, how about natural gut mains and synthetic gut crosses (syn gut to tone down the power a bit).

@@ollie378 the string went dead? The natural gut should never go dead. Plays great right up until it breaks (if it breaks).

I‘m a stringer too. A mom came and gave me the racket of her 12 year old boy who played with babolat rpm blast rough 1.25 in the mains and babolat vs 1.30in the crosses. Both strung at 22kg. And he has problems in the shoulder. I would suggest a multifilament at 1.30 (because he is a hard hitter for that 11 years). Or is it ok to go with poly in 1.25 and natural gut?

my daughter is 9 and been playing tennis for 4 years, started 4 times a week group practices now she is practicing 5 times a week one-on-one each practice is about 1-1.5 hours. she s been using babolat xcel 17(1.25) with 26" pure aero. she started breaking them in a week then we moved to 16 (1.30) didnt make any difference maybe 1 or 2 days more. 90% of the time she breaks the mains which is good i think as learnt from the internet. should we keep using xcel or try a synthetic gut hybrid maybe hybrid with a soft poly like luxilon element any advice or help is appriciated. Our coaches doesnt have much knowledge about strings where i live. thanks in advance

Why not Solinco Outlast or Kirschbaum Pro Line II or something similar in the mains? At least a thin smooth round poly won't cut through the multi or syn gut as fast. No wonder they show up weekly for restringing...
