Yeah it’s true. It can produce decent results but it does take a lot of effort haha

So I'm on a pretty low budget but what camera should I buy, mainly for filmmaking maybe some photography, between the ZVE10, A6400, A6500, A6600? I am on this price range but I really don't know wich one will be better to invest in as a beginner. By the way love your videos man !

Interesting you mark the a6700 over the FX30. I do too but most people put the 30 above it. Also, love the FX3 too - next big gig I have it’s coming home with me 😂

Where would you say an iPhone 14 Pro falls in this lineup? I’ve been watching all your videos trying to decide on a Sony for great video and photos for potential vlogging (switching from Canon potentially), but also wanting to make sure it’s better than sticking with my phone. Obviously lenses and zoom ability make all the difference as the pro is useless once you leave 1x. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!!

What about the Sony ZV-1 and ZV-1F?.... I guess at that point you'd probably need to include rx series cameras as well. Would love to see some videos on those aswell

The only thing I'm questioning is the R5/CR in S tier. The color reproduction in higher iso ranges falls off significantly compared to the 33mp sensor in the 7IV/CII

That’s fair! After using the A7RV though, the sensor performance is absolutely outstanding from ISO 100-6400, like mind blowing image quality. It’s just hard to compete with it, but sure because of the crazy high MP count it struggles at higher ISO, especially for video. But it’s kind of the S tier dedicated high MP photo camera.

Just when I thought I"d decided on my first camera (tight budget!) a6000,Nex 5T,a5010 and you do this, now I'm going to have to spend another few hours looking at the other options and my budget.........😮painful but enjoyable😁

All of them are great for a first camera! You can always upgrade your body later as you build up some better glass

I sold my a6100 for the a6300 because the later is better for video due to S-LOG/Cine. The a6100 just couldnt flex like i wanted with video. I use it more than my BMPCC 4K lol. I think you should have separated these into photography and video/cinema categories because its kind of discrediting picture profiles and its huge benefit. I waisted around $500 extra for the a6100 compared to the a6300 due to similar list like this back when researching hybrid cameras. So many reviews from wedding photographers seemed to ignore those profiles which was odd considering thats what separated the a6300/a6500 from the a6000, a6100 and NEX series.

*Nice to know that My FX30 is A class Tier and my ZV-E10 is Class C, Nice as I own the FX30 and ZV-E10*

what's your budget? An A7RIII is a camera well loved by enthusiasts wanting higher MP and full frame but can't afford the A7RV. Might be a camera to look into on the used market, I'm seeing it priced around 1700$ new, 1200$ on sale.

only thing im questioning is the a9 in C tier. litterally so cheap and insane for sports photog, stacked sensor, 20 fps, zero blackout. should be A considering it was released 7 years ago and is only like 1500$

Sony A9 has a unique sensor exclusive to the A9 series. I stay using silent shutter on that bad boy.

IMHO the a7R III is way better than the A7 III in more way and now on used market it is even better for the price. The only thing the a7III beat it is the AF, I may be wrong though. And the A7R II is not good compared to the III (af, battery, features, IQ, color science) Same for the A7R IV, better that the A7 III in may ways

I called out just about all of these rankings so I don't really disagree for the most. Being a cinematographer the only thing I'd slightly disagree with is the FX3 FX6 and A7Siii placements. The FX3 is pretty much the same camera as the A7Siii with a few differences. Yes it is better for cinematographers in my opinion, but I wouldn't put it a whole level down lol. Also the FX6 definitely shouldn't be on the same level as the FX3 let alone under it given that the FX3 is a baby FX6. This thing literally blows some of the most popular lower budget cimema cameras out of the water. I get the main reasoning is price, but surprisingly it costs less than the A1 lol.

This list literally is 98% where I would put everything though lol. I was also really surprised with the placement of the ZV-E1 which is my personal favorite non cinema line camera on the list. I too would have put it at A since in my opinion feature wise it's better than both the a7Siii and the FX3, but body wise it's not really fit for professional cinematography until you rig it up. I predict the next FX camera is going to just be the ZV-E1 with an FX3 body and global shutter.

Those don’t have interchangeable lenses. I did forget the RX1 though, which does have an interchangeable lens system I believe

A7ii definitely in the F tier for me

that list makes no sense. The A7 III and the A6000 are the best sold sony e-mount cameras how can they be so low? And of course all the "S" cameras are the most expensive and newest one. What's the point of classifying older cameras if the old ones are all rated poorly anyway. How about a iPhone tier list? spoiler warning iphone 15 is the best iphone.

I really do love both a lot, but just because one is best selling doesn’t mean it’s S tier. Also did you watch this video? I talked SO highly of the A7iii 😂🙌 all love fam.

@@kraigpruett exactly and that's the reason this list doesn't make any sense. In your list all current cameras are the best, oh yes what a surprise. What you are evaluating here is not the camera at the time of release but rather the development by Sony over the years. An example would be the Sony a7r II. The camera had the biggest impact to date in the E-mount and with the competition. First E-Mount Camera with IBIS, with the new much better AF and the legendary 42.5mp BSI Sensor and you put that thing in the "c" category. At the same time you put the a7cR in the "s" catergory. What is so special about that thing? It's nothing but a worse version of the a7rV and a7r IV. The problem is that you chose too many categories that overlap with each other. If you want to find the best basketball player of all you don't compare 40 years old lebron against 61 years old michael jordan. What you do is to compare both players at their best and what they achieved in their particular time.
