would definitely put in the category of "not quite best in slot, but a great source of +2 skills if you can't get a better circlet/unique" for a lot of builds - also an easy source of 5-nado, and super dangerous for rogue mercenaries, strafe amazons, and specific variants of throwbarbs.

Delirium is not only for ranges! The mind blast and terror when struck are also good. I have played melee characters which get saved constantly from procs on this helm. This is great for any physical damage build or on a caster merc and is one of my favorite survivability helms. If only there were some resistance to all on it, it would be perfect!

Great video, hope you have plans for doing this for all item slots….community could also use the same type of vids for uniques.

I think Lore is the best helm runeword tbh, it's without a doubt the most useful one of the bunch, it sets up characters during their league start or any SSF runs and sticks with those chars until late into the game when they finally upgrade past it with a shaco or whatever else they might need. Dream and Delirium might be upgrades over Lore, but they both come online way later and are more expensive, meaning they lose in the bang for the buck and overall usefulness categories, as well as both being more niche.

I could probably make some HC build guides... only one I'm kind of "meh" over is barbarian, the rest of the classes I don't mind HC with lol (I'll add them to the notes though)

I might be mistaken, but as a druid you can shapeshift out of delirium, so its not as much of a negative depending on what you are doing.

you can indeed shapeshift out of it, though it can be inconvenient.

I didn´t know Nadir has those mali, but i would still consider making it. At least my Holy Fire Paladin has no issue with -Light, i have it by now with the Aura big enough to cover the entire screen, and if something dies before you know it´s there, is that really a problem? I would say no.

I've used Delirum with summoners who don't get hit very often because of their army. And even when it does proc it isn't a big problem since your summons do most of your dammage.

yea, summoners, casters, and ranged attackers do good with delirium for that reason (Strafezons, Throwbarbs, etc. get a real nice benefit to it since it keeps things away from them exceptionally well)

@@Alzorath the +2 instead of +1 makes a big difference for a summon druid because soft points also help with summon synergies.

I reckon your right on point mate, im running a holy shock holy fire pally and my merc is running delirium, there's just so much shit going on when I step in 🤣🤣

Delirium is unmatched. The Stygian reanimation that you turn into makes me laugh non stop. It adds a “what the fuck” factor to a “what the fuck” world

I personally think lore is better since of the plus skill and 30 lightning res, Radiance is a solid choice probably for melee characters who don’t rely on plus skills.

i agree but there is way casters profit and fighters. so last two depends on style

On the fence for my bone/summon necro, whether lore or delirium would be best to help me through my nm run.

I would go for delirium if I could afford it in that case - simply because that build almost never gets touched, so you'd transform very little.

do we know when ladder is starting?

I never thought of delerium for a zon, but now i'm kind of curious... Probably not as good as 45ias though

Is it preferred to find normal helmets that has extra attributes? Or do that only occur with superior items?

generally the only helmets that you'd be worried about extra attributes on would be druid pelts or barbarian helms. I would even go so far as to say avoid superior items for runewords you plan to equip on your character specifically unless the runeword adds "Indestructable" to itself. This is because superior increases the repair cost astronomically.

I would never use a Sol rune on a radiance helmet o_O There's OrtSol anyway. I didn't know you could combine two Dream auras...mhhh I'm thinking about some builds =D I was thinking about some ideas/tips for new players (if you have not already spoken about them in previous videos) : the real secret passages in the catacombs (those walls you click to gain access to a mini secret room) and the gem shrine (go back to camp to take the biggest gem you have...flawless if you can to upgrade it to perfect). And the tips I got from your community about when to use charsi's imbue (circlet was a good advice). And thanks again for your videos. I still learn some things nearly everyday thanks to you :)

@@belazarius727 yup - though if you're finding infinity too expensive/competitive - you can go a faith bow on an act 1 mercenary, and run conviction yourself for a 'little' cheaper (still expensive) option... but I like having a dual aura a2 mercenary ;)

@@belazarius727 while expensive to make, my favorite smiter on SP uses a 69% cb Last Wish phase blade, fanaticism, and a Pride thresher on the merc. Lvl 19 conc, lvl 17 might, lvl 33 fanat. It's an amazing combination.

depends how early game - lore is always a safe pick early on for any character

My Zealots best helmet runeword is Vampire Gaze Grim Helm+ 15% IAS jewel.

Fast forward now we have bulwark and flickering flame.

Nadir's usefulness is the level 13 requirement. Plug Nef Tir into a 2-socket Bone Helm for remarkably high defense early on.

Disagree, I prefer dream (even if niche) but you make good points for delirium and the confuse isn't given enough credit. Also extra points for no high runes.

On shields, I rate dream higher, but on helmets, I literally only use it on those two builds lol, so I couldn't in good conscience put it in #1 vs a helm I have as "alternative" on a few, "very good" on others, and "competitive" for 2

I generally prefer not using it on a sorc when tp spamming, but if you can avoid getting hit, it's pretty solid

how bad is the delirium proc? I only play hardcore, so wondering if it's too risky to run it as I have never tried it.

Depends on your build... as a ranged character, it's not too bad, you usually aren't close enough to be in real trouble - but I wouldn't touch it on a melee character. I'm a bit more restricted in my use of it in hardcore as well, that said, it is a life saver for a strafezon with confuse.

I used one on my WW sword barb for fun when 1.10 first came out. It rarely ever happened, but I also did have high defense. It was fun to have it proc in a fist duel - very good laugh all around!

My Paladin currently is lvl45 and the ethereal circlet i had Lore on just broke. It served me well, but i f*cked up using an ethereal one... Is there any rune word in the 40s to put on a helmet? Maybe coming with 2.4 patch?

weirdly when doing Solo Self Found runs, I almost always end up using lore through the end of hell - though for a paladin, not a ton of runewords for the helm that are amazing, I mean, wisdom would be "okay" for a zealer, for cannot be frozen, but lore is just so cheap and easy - and gives the most important resist (lightning), that it's hard to pass up.

yup, Superior items are capable of hosting runewords.

It would so amazing if D2R got popular enough that they decided to do some updates for it like new runewords, characters, etc....

I socked ort and sol in the exact order in a two socket bone helm and it didn’t even make the word lore, is this a glitch or did I do something wrong?

Only works in plain items, the most common mistakes are putting them in a magic item (mechanics/artisan/jeweler), something with too many sockets, or trying to apply them "visually" to sockets rather than in order (they need to be put on the item in the order listed)

delirium is only best if you can find a dope, and I mean dope druid pelt for it. Otherwise Double-stacked tesladin with conviction merc/fanat on top of level 30 Holy shock is just too strong.

Only reason I put Dream lower on the list is, for the helmet at least, it really is only used for 2 archetypes (1 for paladin, 1 for sorceress), , the shield version is used for a few other builds, so gets a little higher importance - where as delirium is useful for most ranged/casters on some level, even if not BiS

I wonder which class item considered the best?

Sadly a bit of apples and oranges, since you can only equip them on their given class , the only disappointing one is barb helms due to restricted skill pool options in modern versions

I use delirium on my merc. So that your character will not transform into delirium.

On the two builds it works for, it is - though Delirium is 'useful to good' on more builds, at least in terms of the helmet slot (Dream works for more builds on shields, so it does get it higher ranked there)

@@Alzorath delirium is fun to play around with in PVE but for most characters there are better rare/unique helm options. Delirium is good for crafting +5 to BO barb helms though

@@freedomfighter8883 This is basically a similar situation to the "Bone Armor" argument - it's something most people don't recognize the functionality of it because it doesn't hit on easily trending builds - yes the Dream Sorc and Tesladin are awesome builds, but outside of those, the Dream Helmet is almost never used due to cost and functionality - Delirium however is competitive for BiS in 3 main builds for cheaper (most notable being the Strafezon), and "good enough substitute" or "alternate strategy" for a few builds.

Dream is bad, only two characters use it. Delirium is best, only two characters use it.
