    @Mikey Pie Both Johannesburg and Cape Town are cities. Cities by their nature are inherently more dangerous than towns or communities. That is why even in much "safer" countries such as the UK, you stil have a strong risk of your bike/car getting stolen or being stabbed in the street. So crime has little to do with skin colour like you initially tried to imply and more to do with the type of environments people live in and socio-economic conditions. So towns and communities such as orania and where i live will always have little to no crime regardless of race if the socio economic circumstances are befitting. For example, where I live is predominantly middle class blacks, and the poorer ones are almost all self employed or working for the small businesses in my area. We have excellent service delivery excluding potholes that take a while to get attended to (but they do get fixed eventually). My only problem is that I'm going to have to move from here to one of those two hell holes (Johannesburg/Cape Town) because they are the only places with the biggest salary packages for junior software developers.

    To all you guys bitching and saying all these terrible things to one another... As I see it MAN as in human beings has always been curious to learn or discover new things so new lands were one of them... We all have visited and taken over new places so whats the difference. So the people who came brought new technology and new ideas built towns then cities but the original people came to enjoy and love the money and understanding of gold diamonds oil as well as all the other technology the new people brought with them...so all thing where fine. Then as time went on the move to doing things for one's self started to come to the forefront but in SA the people didn't want self determination they wanted everything and all the things they didn't do for themselves... Education being one of the only things you can't buy you have to earn by working hard for...and Africans say the whites have not let them be educated but in SA the government has had its hands on the controls for 25 years and still they burn schools and have no education system in place only by pushing into white schools can they get an education. I'm white and proud of it I work with children and I am glad to say it warms my heart to see young black African children integrating into SA education system so well.. The problem is its only a very small percentage because education has become very expensive... Again only because government has screwed up the economy but another reason the teachers and children in predominantly black areas are creating bad environment to work and learn... Videos of teaches hitting children on their head or children attacking teachers or burning down schools and university.... Soooo I think as long as black people don't want to be educated form as young as grade 5 to university level then nothing positive will come of SA it takes a village to raise a child grandparents, parents as well as government to stand together and teach how to live love and thrive for a country to flourish... Name calling never gets anyone anywhere! My Prayers are we in SA get back to Working hard at coming together to make one big Orania 👌😎

Remember my friend that in this modern-day we do not have tribalistic groups that exclude other races as I am aware of since I travel South Africa quite often and most African countries I've been to thay don't practice rejecting other ethnic groups because of the colour of their skin. I also get why people get offended by such, but i guess that's because of our history, if not, they wouldn't be offended. The people insisting on swearing and calling each other names should chill. No way - these brave people pulled themselves up by their bootstraps, rolled up their sleeves and WORKED to rebuild their countries into the two most modern and industrialised cities in the world after WW2... and here in our own country - after the Anglo Boer War when Britain decided they would occupy S.A. because of her mineral riches - the simple BOERE (that you despise so much) outran them all the time and the Brits decided the only way they could stop the BOERE from beating them, was to torch Boer farms with everything there - including livestock; send women and children to concentration camps where a recorded ± 26-thousand died under the most horrible circumstances - but after the war, because the BOERE had nothing to go back to, they worked on the roads, the railways and mines for something like 1/6d (± 15c) per day, and they rebuilt everything the British had destroyed and rebuilt S.A., Until 1976 South Africa was very highly developed, peaceful and respected, but since 1994 it has slid down a path into a cesspool of crime - murder, robbery, hijacking, rape and corruption of boundless levels - and who gets the blame? No further questions...

I mean I can go on all week with history that shows and shames this racism of the blacks. They hate because they see the differences and feel inferior. That's on them. NOT the fault of the white folks. As soon as blacks are admitted it's only a matter of a short amount of time before it's just like everywhere else in that country and they KNOW this. Orania is representative of a community taking responsibility for themselves and being the change that they want to be, instead of waiting for the government to do something. Considering that South Africa is the only country in the world that has affirmative action laws that favour the majority perhaps situations like Orania are a logical conclusion. Orania are involved in some projects that are advising other black African communities on how they can also achieve the same level of self sufficiency as they have. I think generally that regardless of race, these types of communities will become more prevalent in the face of ever growing political incompetence/ irrelevance worldwide.

    Wow ... that was a failed Turkey shoot. Lol The interview tried hard to hide his feelings about such a place but body language doesnt lie. I firmly wish only good things for other races but if whites are pushed into a situation where they are politically forced into a seperatist situation then nobody else can complain. Every human has a right to live in safety ... not because the constitution says so but because the right exists no matter who controls the gears of the machine. Personally I feel that a large percentage of the population inclusive of all races have becomed decayed beyond the point of redemption and at some point this will come to a sudden and violent end. Aafter that South Africa will be exposed in all its brutal glory and no amount of washing will take the blood off its hands. Lets hope that Im wrong.

    Well said! One thing I want to point out is that Orania has virtually no crime, it’s clean, it’s facilities are always working - unlike in SA in general - and everyone is friendly. I was hoping the interviewees would mention that, but they didn’t. I also want to mention that there are parts of South Africa where whites cannot live. It’s been that way for a long time. What’s different between those areas not wanting whites, and Orania wanting to protect Afrikaans culture? The difference in that is that those black-only areas are very verbal in that they do NOT allow whites. Orania isn’t “anti-black”, it’s just wanting to preserve their culture. It’s a doublestandard in SA.

    Orania is no different to say Lenasia, which is a predominantly Indian community, or say SOWETO, which is a mostly black community. Many "blacks only" communities are scattered all over South Africa. Now that Orania boasts growth, safety and security for it's residents, uninterrupted education for it's children etc., it is becoming a point of contention among certain blacks. Lenasia, over the years, showed similar development and business growth to the point where around 25% of it's patrons originate from SOWETO. People in Orania are productive, keen on education, free of corruption and live in relative safety. They just want to keep it that way. That's why it a "whites only" zone.

  • @lew4644

    @lew4644

    5 жыл бұрын

    @Aobakwe Tshetlho , Orania is a safe haven for it's citizens. It is that way because they share and respect the values of it's citizens. Lenasia, developed from a necessity for housing from the many Indian hotel staff around Jhb. It later became their suburb of choice. SOWETO developed as a result of millions of Africans who entered S.A., and those from rural S.A., for mining jobs during the APARTHEID era. More Africans entered S.A. during the "apartheid era" than ever. Could not have been that bad. White suburbs are separated by economic and social classes. That's world wide. Don't always blame apartheid. Separate Development (later coined apartheid), was introduced for the blacks to develop parallel to whites and catch up. The white man was NOT going to sit back and wait. So... stop demonstrating, striking, burning etc. and start catching up. Africans claim to have been here first. So, they should have had a head start. Yet, all African countries are 3rd world and all white countries are 1st world.
