Question, if you go thinner, you think you can make one disappear and the other visible & sharp? Thanks for your AMAZING contributions to this community!!!

Thank you for your comment, I am glad you like my content! I am not exactly sure what you are asking. The concept with anything creating the shadow is that the shadow edges are shape when in line with the crescent.

If you have a really thin object, you can't make it's shadow fully disappear, but you can make it nearly disappear.

I finally got to view your video. This is fascinating. I wish I had known this would be so easy to demonstrate. I’m learning how much more there is to a total eclipse than just the moon blocking the sun causing darkness. Unfortunately I’m learning things about 6 months too late. But it gives me something more to look forward to in 2024. Thank you so very much for taking the time to produce and share videos like this. I’m looking forward to seeing your shadow bands video.

Merrill, thanks for your comment. I enjoyed doing this video explaining the eclipse sharp and fuzzy shadow effects. I am getting ready to upload a video about the pinhole projection phenomena. I am still working on shadow band theories and analysis of some videos with my NASA friends, so that will take a little longer.
