What About the Weather? | Why Live in Columbus, Ohio?
'If you don't like the weather, then wait a day' is a saying I heard growing up here in Central Ohio, and it's true. We get four distinct seasons here in Ohio, but by far my favorite is Fall. Full disclosure, I'm not in love with every season here, but the variety helps me appreciate them all.

After growing up in Central Ohio, the natural progression is to move to Columbus, but this was a very different town in the early 2000s. After surviving the Great Recession, Columbus has been on an absolute tear. While the recession was rough, we tended to fare better than many other cities partially due to the diverse amount of employers in the area. That, along with a focus on redevelopment of areas close to Downtown, population growth and the relatively cheap cost of living have helped buoy the Central Ohio area.
It doesn't seem that long ago in 2009 when residents were stoked to get Yuengling Lager to the area. Fast forward a short decade and today we have over 50 local breweries and our own "Ale Trail". That is just one of the fantastic changes.
Leaving for ten years, I left more or less a cow town and returned to a City bustling with boutique shops, coffee houses and restaurants, a renewed focus on fitness and somehow it seemed sunnier. In fact, it was such a cool city that we decided to stay.

Ohio weather is honestly not to bad.. it's really cold here for 3 weeks.. that's about it.. it snow globes for two months, rarely get accumulation, spring, summer and fall can be really hot or just fair.. the weather in columbus is not a reason to not move here.. there's plenty of other reasons to avoid this place, but the weather isn't one of them.
I agree, I am 41 and i remember Winter being so much colder and way more snow here in Ohio. It was almost 80 today with a crazy thunderstorm !!

We are like the exact same vintage lol! Yes, it totally used to snow more. I cannot imagine having a snow day with the little amount we have had of late. Sunnier too, right?
Spring is the worst. My daughter plays spring soccer, and it can start off gorgeous, and by the end, we have had all 4 seasons on a saturday

coming from Tampa Fl, Weather in Cities like Dayton and Columbus and Ohio in General i find is really cold

Winters the reason I moved out of Columbus moved to Honolulu Hawaii or averages 75 to 83 in January and February much better than Columbus weather

Winter is the least favorite here for me too. It's like -5 right now, but that is unusually low.
The humidity also makes it feel cold too I live in Columbus don't like the weather just wait a couple of minutes.

Good to hear I'm not the only one....it does seem to have gotten dryer and sunnier.
Really enjoy your videos. You would make a great tour guide. I will be in Ohio in January, maybe we will cross paths and you can reintroduce me to the city I was born in, and lived in, for the first 19 years of my life.

Hello i’m going to Columbus Ohio in March 2021 from Georgia any advice? Also I do have family there so I’ll be moving near them also i’m thinking about getting my real estate license when I get there and advice on this as well

It’s humid here….whoever told you it was cold in June, ha! In May though we did have some 50 degree days.
