Their game plan, approved by their coach, for the first game was to take Walsh out which they accomplished. I love Slater and believe he is a great role model for our game/future immortal. I was pretty surprised that he reacted the way that he did considering his past. Remember when he kicked Klemmer in the face? Remember the shoulder charge that nearly rubbed him out of the 2018 grand final? I don’t believe he was ever trying to purposely hurt a player, but accidents happened and it’s not always a reflection of a player trying to rub out another player in the game.

Glass houses comment is spot on but it's also a ploy to get Billy to react because he prides himself on his Integrity which is a potential weakness that can be exploited.

I agree with Gordon, he retired 5 years ago, and his coaching record is flawless, most of his chargers were from the start of his career and the ones later in his career e.g. shoulder charge the rules have changed on that throughout his career. Yes, I agree Billy had a 'grubby' playing style and he is the best full back ever however, he has right to say that about NSW and they are lucky he waited that long to say it.

Billy did made some comments in regards to the Suali'i hit about mums bringing kids to games and seeing such is bad for the game. As a consequence, Madge replied with the glass house statement. So literally, Billy started it by bringing mums and kids into it to make it look worse. Madge followed up on it and Billy with a red face backed out of it when asked about his thoughts on Madge's follow up comment.

Hits are part of the game. Players at some stage in the game get knocked out as and when tackles are an inch off. Billy literally backed out with red faced from what he set into motion.

Somthing worng with the NRL 8 weeks for words , 3 for taking some one out of the game wiht INTENT , thats the problem with that tackle , careless or not ( to me thant makes it worse ).. Was Billy dirty he sure was at times , every player is / was at some stage some worse than others . 8 weeks for words 3 weeks for almost crushing a mans cheekbone and breaking the orbital socket .. You used to be able to throw a punch without getting a suspension, today you’re getting several games on the sideline, its a totally different ethics rule, for years they’ve made a massive effort to stop high contact and the NSW flog targeted the head, you cant do that in 2024. 2004 was different

Slater was grubby af and so was Smith. I don’t personally have any issue with that, but the glasshouse comments is absolutely spot on.
