Battlefield 2042 Will Have Cross-play Between PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Series S and PC. Should It? I wanted to see just how well a controller player may do in Battlefield versus PC players. Crossplay should be optional. Able to opt in and out with a setting. Best of both worlds.

bruh i play with a controller on pc, its fkin hard asf sniping.

I've been on PC for about 4-5 years now, only console before that. I still find myself very clumsy on the keyboard. I thought about going back to controller but just didn't find the right settings to make it feel alright. Any tips or controller settings you could post or make a video. Also are you going to on PC for the new BF, and are you going to continue using a controller if you do?

I haven’t played controller for a while since i have both Pc and ps4 and I had to lower the sensitivity. Also changing the aim down sights sensitivity helps maybe 🤷‍♂️

if you play with a controller on the pc it's not the same as if you play with a console. The consoles have their aim assist pre-integrated. Games like Battlefield and Cod use this aim assist up to a certain point. Cheat controllers like the cronos zen use this at the maximum value.

Do you get any wrist pain or anything playing R1 L1 shoot? It makes sense as far as less travel on the trigger but its really uncomfortable for me due to the angle my hands are. Maybe holding wrong, any tips

It's more natural hand posture. Furthermore, for people who play on console since really old gens, like ps1/ps2 or original Xbox it tye the most common and sometimes the only button mapping for 99% of games! I've been playing console for many years, changed to pc through covid-19 quarantineband left back my controllers. This man inspired me to get my dualsense controller on pc bf1 /bfv. Sometimes it's impossible to compete mouse aiming, but when you do feels amazing!

Curious if you ever get trigger thumb or trigger finger symptoms, recently played BF extensively and got it, it was painful

From time to time, in between rounds make sure to rest your hand and not do any activity if possible. Less tense on your aim too. Learn to "drift" your aim instead of stabby all the time

He made a settings video for BF1 a while ago so maybe start there.

You're an anomaly dude. I think though, that your average mouse and keyboard warrior is going to do better than a controller player. I think it's cool crossplay will be in the game, but I have a feeling most people will opt out because A) it will be more difficult against PC players and B) PC is going to have cheaters. Hopefully EA/Dice has an effective solution for cheating, but it will happen and that will turn off a lot of people.

I’m new to battlefield just started playing on ps5 since 2042 beta came out.. after that I downloaded BF1.. I’m having trouble sliding.. I have a scuf also but can’t manage to do it. When I crouch and try to run quickly after it doesn’t work he just lays down.. and when hit crouch crouch quick seems like just a crouch lol. I don’t know maybe I’m sliding and can’t tell

Forced crossplay is the cancer of modern gaming. Console players dont want to play against PC players, only with other console players. Warzone is pure trash because of this, even TBM is playing it on PC with mouse.

Dude.... I fully agree. Let us console peasants play together with the stress of questioning certain kills if they were cheating or not. I hate the forced crossplay in warzone with a passion. When you do finally get a noncrossplay game to load you can tell its not as sweaty and a level playing field.

a person with high skill level that is using a high refresh monitor and low settings on the PC so they can get 160+ fps is going to do well whether they play with a controller or m/kb

aim assist is only very strong in close range engagements tbh although I will say this is just Battlefield and there are no advantages to m&K such as like in Apex where you can have insane movement/faster looting and moving while looting. A good and I don't even mean great flicker is probably just as if not better than top tier controller player at range unless they just whif which controller players simply do not do. BF also doesn't have as strong aim assist as say COD neither. My experience thus far is I had no problem hanging with k&m players and have even been hitting aim lab using m&k(i'm currently at 80k on gridshot and 100k on the flicking one). I just hate having to learn how to move on m&K because I been doing this shit the past 10 yrs on console

The Xbox one s/x does have access to high refresh rates (120hz), you of course need the monitor to access those refresh rates and lower latencies, PCs do have the advantage in graphics as lower graphic settings can affect how well you can see a target which is a problem in MW 2019, Now when it comes to controls, KBM will always be more responsive and easy to translate aim settings as opposed to controllers, the problem with the crossplay argument is that people find it easy to say "it is hard to play against KBM" which can easily be solved if the developers did something that "the master chief collection" did and allowed players to limit their search on two settings: same input device and/or same system. And the argument does not hold up well when you consider that console KBM players exist as there are devices that translate KBM input to controller input but devs will sometimes ban the use of such devices, and official support for KBM on consoles can be seen in newer CODs, Fortnite, and Halo.

My controller skills improved 10 fold as well as my confidence in pushing when I started adjusting stick aiming acceleration and stick Max input threshold among others. But, those two parameters in particular really affect your control.

I don't mind the option being there. If I can opt in, but choose to join a console-only server on a bad day then that makes a huge difference.

I don’t think that they will give an option because I’ve never seen a console cross plat that doesn’t include pc as well but you can likely turn it off and just play with your particular console

I feel like for battlefield 2042 the devs are worried about wait times for games and filling up lobbies which is why they made crossplay. But I feel like that wont be an issue until the game is in its later stages, assuming 2042 has a successful release. So why not make cross play optional? Idk that's my thoughts

For games like BF and COD I think x-play between consoles is a must, but optional for PC. I liked playing with my xbox mates on warzone. One thing I will say is that a proper comms system like discord needs to be implemented on consoles for it to work..Xbox party chat is OK, but its not as good as discord. And I cant speak to anyone on PS4 or 5 unless I use in game chat.

Crossplay between different consoles doesnt account for performance differents, and pc vs console shoulsnt be allowed imo as a pc player can have way more fps than console.. everything from tv quality and internet speed matters

I just said this yesterday too! The revolver is ridiculously strong and his aim would make it so satisfying to see. I have 2400 kills with it and unlocked it maybe 2 months ago.

This is where the fun begins!

I have my left hand motility partially disabled, so playing via keyboard is pretty difficult for me. Gamepad is a real savior here. Was trying to play BF on PC with it but predictably was smashed to pieces, though after some time even started to make a >1 k/d, but this is still a challenge. Crossplay is a good feature and it should be implemented in coop games like Borderlands, but for multiplayer shooters it should be optional.

do you mean you was smashed using a controller on pc or was you smashed using a keyboard? I personally really enjoyed the mouse for aiming and tbh after only a couple weeks of practice on aimlab was a close to if not better shot than the controller I played on for 10 yrs. My thing was movement, I just don''t feel like relearning it and it feels like a drag to do so but I might try a single player game just to build up muscle memory. I'm not at all saying I was better than on controller and I personally have had no problem hanging with crossplay on Apex or Cod because aim assist is actually fairly OP most of the time but it feels so unorganic and not as sensational when you hit some sick shots.

I'm happy with crossplay to be a thing. But with the on/off option.. chances are that I'll only be interested in this for coop games,opposed to fps multiplayer titles. Between the MK/ controller argument and hackers being so prevalent.. its just not worth the hassle.

I think all cross-play fps should have different lobbys for controller or mouse imput. You can play controller on pc or mouse on console, just dont mix imput methods

I'm psyched for cross play because I can play with my friends on PC. I use a controller on PC for BF1 as well and it's definitely more challenging, especially without the same aim assist. Using the Martini on PC with a controller is a great way to sharpen your aim.

Not that into fps games so can't tell what is normal or not, but if I didn't know beforehand this is with a controller, I would've assumed it's with mouse and kb. Had no idea this kind of accuracy is possible with a controller.

If there's PC crossplay with no opt-out, I won't personally touch it. One of the very few advantages console offers is mitigating hackers. FPS games are frustrating enough without having to worry about who's cheating or not.

@@jamessauls9994 with over 9000 hours in battlefield games i have never experienced a hacker on console maybe if you are talking 360 and ps3 yeah but especially xbox one and series consoles hacking is nearly impossible without a ridiculous amount of experience due to the regulated coding of the system ui, ddsosers exist on any platform and if someone is successfully ddossing you then you need a better internet service provider most ISPs do a fantastic job at prevent ddos attacks and is a very outdated way of booting someone offline dont be afraid if someone gives you your i.p either as an i.p is very easy to get ahold of and 9/10 its not your i.p they have given you but one of the many bait i.p's that the ISP use to bait ddos attacks. I mainly play pc now and you literally cannot go a game without a hacker in the lobby on any of the online games you play and quite frankly its ridiculous but a consequence of have different systems with more compatibility.

My hands feel uncomfortable jsut watching you hold the controller.

How do you play crab style. I’ve tried and it’s impossible for me to play like that. Yet I know it’s the best way to play fps games.

This may be a stupid question but do you get aim assist playing with a controller on PC? I also switched to playing on PC a while ago but I'd consider myself the typical casual player that wants to have fun relaxing on the sofa which is why I'm gonna play Bf2042 on the PS5..
