Put up sum art or sum too, I put up other things on my wall like skate boards & what not to try & take up sum of the echo, I got panels too but i be using whatever is around, even a blanket works if you got an extra blanket or towel laying around, but imo studios like that are hella relatable

1:30 about laptops, you can make beats on the go, your music travels with you. All you need when you get home is plug it into a external monitor and bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Best of both worlds

I'm not a huge fan of Decap music, but especially his shorts are packed with a lot Ableton life hacks and that's why I subbed to his channel

That's what I love about Ableton, you can map/bind functions to any key in 1 second, and string them together. Workflow is so much faster if you actually use the smart functions Ableton comes with.

Nah L Dre uses Ableton a lot in most of his videos I've watched. 😂🤣😂

You make an interesting point about screen realestate. I never used a huge ass screen or multiple screens before but I can image it's less clicking and less moving shit around. I can't image only using an mpc with no screen. Older producers are really on another level in terms of work flow with those things

I work on a laptop but I have an external monitor hooked up and it works for me

Watching someone make house tracks by dragging and dropping clips into ableton made my fucking brain hurt. Can't think of a less groovy way to do it. On another note, I hate to be that guy...but you can make shortcuts for whatever the hell you want in Reaper - can't imagine having to download an extension for something that simple (or clip gain).

HDMI from laptop to tv, this is my monitor, I recommend it to anyone else who can't afford things like me, I just ghetto rig the set up with what I got around the pad, but use whatcha got more then relying on things you cant access it'll open up more opportunities that other won't take up on whatever it may be

They are using Laptops because they have everything on there Laptop, the DAW the Plugins that they can take anywhere with them, most producers now use laptops. I have used laptops for music for over 2 decades now.

dude what 😂🤣 i think you have it backwards. they aren't using laptops BECAUSE stuff is on them, everything's on them because it's their main thing they use. how would everything just have randomly got onto the laptops, THEN they were like oh we should use these.. cuz this is where everything is.. nah. they filled those things up to use. lol u feel me 😂🤝🤝

1:27 You should learn how to efficiently use your laptop screen only, because when you're pulling up to a studio session to work with someone, you can't be setting all that up (screen, ext key and mouse + cabling)- you'll kill the vibe, I've seen it happen.

Dude! People overuse detune! I use a 55" TV as my monitor. When I setup my studio, I will have one 55" "Monitor" to produce music on, one to edit videos on and one to display sheetmusic for when I am playing instruments.

That Jason Statham guy makes some really good beats

"'Real' studio session"? They got drums, a piano, even some congas in that studio. And they go revert to the bedroom producer process of fiddling with a laptop? I'm out.

@@DawnHub666 Just for simplicity/workflow. You can reach the controls inside the clip but being able to just quickly click and adjust right on timeline is what the m4l plugin is doing

Reaper is the only modern DAW I've ever used. NOT having hotkeys to open particular VSTs or to execute particular macros/actions is odd to me. Reaper + (12-button) gaming mouse = keyboardless DAW...if you want.

The funny thig was the fact he has all those instruments laying around... but tbf I think decaps loops are made by him anyway

The first part with him playing the piano is like when you only know one song on the keys and always play it, but it sounds terrible and is totally out of time. The rest is pretty awful to watch. Not sure who the guy with long hair is but he seems to have no musical knowledge at all..lol. Was this meant to be a parody and are they acting?
