Tom actually did skydive multiple HALO jumps on sunset for the film. The storm was added post CGI but he legitimately performed multiple HALO jumps from >25,000ft. He also did all of the helicopter piloting himself whilst filming in the back country of New Zealand. Dude is insane!

When you know that Cavill's arms reload is completely involuntary.... During filming he had stiffness and wanted to stretch asking to do the scene again after thinking he missed it and Cruise and the director said "no we're keeping that one"....

@@petrastein2531 no they didnt write it in. Grujnot is half right. Its not an accident take and they then used it. He did it like Grujnot said to stretch out the soreness and thought they would want him to redo it, but instead they liked it and asked him to keep doing it take after take, until they were done with the scene. Wasnt one and done, but definitely wasnt in a scripit. They dont write movements into scripts usually.

@@NikstSWE "To write something in the script" is not to be meant literally. :) Like you said, they've seen him do it and then they have written it in that specific scene (because initially his character was not meant to do it). I don't have other words for it other than "write it in the script", I guess that's the problem here. xD Point of my comment was that THAT scene we see in film was not improvised, the movement itself was. Some don’t like it but I think it’s kind of terrifying!! Seeing that wall of a man coming to me preparing to throw punches… Damn!….
Tom did the skydive but because Henry (Caa-Vell) didn't have enough training leading up to it, Tom decided a stunt man would do the dive instead. Tom did get his helicopter license for this movie. Loved that Henry was the "silent" bad guy. You should watch the cast on The Graham Norton Show about this movie. It's hilarious and awesome! Tom breaking his ankle halted production for 6 months not a few days. When they came back to filming, Rebecca was actually pregnant (which they joke about on the Graham Norton Show, Season 22, Episode 15) and Tom's ankle was not fully healed.

The biggest and best of the bunch. Christopher Mcquarrie as director just raising the bar even more than before to a major level. In IMAX, it was a must see and no way you saw it first in another format. Henry Cavill as August Walker (wow). Vanessa Kirby as The White Widow and daughter of a character from M-I:1 (cool). Baldwin & Bassett as the bosses (hell yeah). Early 2019; Cruise, Paramount and Skydance annouced back to back sequels. One for 2021 and one for 2022. Of course, everything was pushed back and all worth waiting for. Glad you enjoyed all the missions so far. M-I:7, Dead Reckoning was incredible too and you won't be disappointed.

They need to setup a better Imax contract for the next movie. For Dead Reckoning, it got snubbed at only 2 weeks in Imax because of Oppenheimer, which was in Imax for idk, what..5 weeks? I've argued with people on Reddit why a dialogue driven movie with a few nuclear scenes needs to be in Imax for that long, but I guess I was alone since everyone drools over Nolan even if he films himself taking a deuce

Oh, and I'm sure someone else has said this, but I just have to say hey Oak, Maverick learned how to fly a helicopter for this movie. Yes, indeed Tom Cruise actually learned how to fly for that last scene. I love it, that's awesome!!!❤😂❤
I'd never bothered to watch any of the previous MI's but decided to take a chance on seeing this in the theater - and immediately had to go back and start watching the rest of them! Such a great film!
This was my favorite one, until I saw the last one, and oh my... Can't wait to see your reactions guys!
I forgot how many great scenes they crammed into this movie
Ahh, the infamous broken ankle shot. The kept the jump & hobble for the movie, but I remember seeing the actual shot of the snap & ouch!!! I truly am amazed w all the stunt work he's done this is the only time he's ever broken a bone. Guess it's a testament to his good health & good prep & practice cause really any little twist or turn the wrong way could cause a bone to break. And fyi, nothing is better than seeing Oaks reaction when he discovers Cavill is bad guy. Love it!!! Great reaction as always fellas!!❤ It's hard to rate these movies cause they are all so good & for different reasons!
This is honestly my fav in the whole franchise. Love the reaction, as always ❤ 1:47 Belfast!! Thats where im from. Uppa waa? Uppa mona bypass! 😝 if u get that i love u 😂 Northern Ireland is british btw incase u think we're Irish, england colonised us and made us a british country 🙄
Fun Fact: Tom Cruise 100% did that sky dive for real from 25,000 feet. It’s called a Halo Jump. He did it not once, but 106 times with a broken ankle. Henry wanted to do the stunt too, but his insurance company wouldn’t let him. Lol!
My personal favorite out of all the series. And honrstly felt literally exhausted after leaving the theater to this. Like what a freaking ride the last part is.
You can catch the Cavill = Lark reveal earlier. The phone they take from "Lark" in the bathroom is shattered, it won't even turn on. The phone Cavill gives to Angela Bassett is intact.
If The Oak likes Cruise and cars, he should definitely check out "Jack Reacher" (2012). I think it's an underrated/underappreciated film, only because Cruise didn't fit the physical size of the character from the Lee Child books.

It's def good despite Tom's stature, he still nails the character's personality. The story is just the book, so it's incredible of course, and it even got a shout out in Reacher season 2 when Reacher says James Barr owes me a favor. The 2nd movie was worse though.

The finest action film of the series and my general favorite tied with Rogue Nation. The action quality dips a bit in the next one (though it's still a good one to me) but I have hopes they were saving the real fireworks for the upcoming 8th one. And yeah I'm totally envious of all the people Vanessa Kirby gets to be on sets with.
I was never really a Mission Impossible fan until I saw this one. I generally liked Ghost Protocol when I first saw it in Imax, but it didn't _really_ stick with me until I rewatched it all after this. Rogue Nation had some great stunts but I couldn't tell you the plot. But this one came in and just completely blew my mind when I saw it in theaters. I like how Hunt seems a lot more vulnerable here, in spite of fighting an awesome fight scene in the bathroom he ultimately loses, in spite of him operating all manner of vehicle it turns out he can't fly a helicopter, in spite of being such a badass he has nightmares and guilt and a lot of remorse for actions taken or not taken. The addition of Henry Cavill as a reluctant ally turned villain was phenomenal, man excels in spy thrillers as we know from The Man From U.N.C.L.E. The action scenes in this from hand to hand fights to car chases to helicopter battles were amazing. And of course the twists were genuinely surprising and really clever, I think I had the same reaction as Oak internally during that same scene.
I've seen all of the Mission Impossible movies and this is still the best one of the series. Great movie. I've watched it almost as many times as I've watched Rogue Nation. My only two complaints: I wish I had seen it in theaters. I wish they had kept Henry Cavill as a villain going forward.
Give me one of these a year please! 1, 2, and 3 were good. But they were taken to a new level with 4, 5, 6, and 7. Usually sequels aren't as good, but this progressively get better! Great reaction.
OAKS REACTION TO THIS ENTIER MOVIE IS EVERYTHING I NEEDED TODAY 😂😂😂😂😂😂.
Definitely my fave M:I flick. Lol the Henry Cavill bicep reload. Totally unnecessary; but undeniably badass.
MI6 is my favorite spy movie of all time. Followed by The Bourne Ultimatum (3) and Cassino Royale (007)
I asked BingAI if Tom Cruise actually did a real HALO jump in this movie and here is what it said: "Yes, Tom Cruise did perform a real High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) jump for the movie “Mission: Impossible - Fallout”. To execute this stunt, Cruise inhaled pure oxygen for 20 minutes on the ground to avoid decompression sickness before jumping out of a plane at 25,000 feet. The filmmakers only had one chance a day to get the shot because it was a nighttime sequence, filmed as close to sunset as possible. This was one of the most dangerous stunts in cinema history. You can watch the behind-the-scenes featurette and the full scene on KZread."
Just something to note, The White Widow's mum Max who was a fan of paradox's is Max from the first mission impossible who actually calls Ethan a paradox.
Something i always found interesting from watching that BTS of the halo jumps was everyone loved the fact that Tom Cruise really did it and how awesome it was... and IT WAS... but no one gave props to the CAMERA MAN who did the halo jumps every time right alongside Mr. Cruise. THAT is so awesome to me
Most people miss it, I certainly did when I first watched it, but the White Widow is the daughter of Max the arms dealer from the first movie.
Everything about this movie is amazing. The fight choreography in the bathroom was outstanding
I like this movie, but I think the next one is better :) It is amazing how this franchise gets better and better! (and rare for film franchises) I am not sure how I felt about Cavil's character... I didn't really care for him as the bad guy.... for me it was a bit too obvious twist. But I like all the action and flight scenes and that Ilsa is part of this movie. I love it how complex her and Ethan's relationship is. He trusts her even if she has betrayed him multiple times (plus you can see that they care for each other). And they became close in a very short time, which, to me, still wasn't forced. Thank you! I can't wait for the next one! :)
Vanessa Kirby's character, Alanna Mitsopolis is meant to be the daughter of Vanessa Redgrave's character, Max from the first Mission Impossible movie.

As a Norwegian it's my civic duty to mention that Mission Impossible, over the course of this movie and the next, make it a habit of filming scenes in the scenic landscapes of Norway, and then label them in the movies as somewhere else. Happens to a lesser degree in MI: Fallout as it's just the final boss battle (Tom Cruise vs Henry Cavill), filmed at Preikestolen in Norway, but in the movie they say it's somewhere in Asia. It happens to a greater extent in Dead Reckoning pt.1, though I wont spoil anything in particular about said sequence as a fairly large chunk of the movie that was filmed here in Norway, a portion of said filming here in Norway also included the poster stunt of the movie. That small annoyance aside, Fallout, Dead Reckoning pt.1 and Ghost Protocol are by far my favorites of the Mission Impossible franchise, amazing movies altogether. Looking forward to the Dead Reckoning reaction!
I can't wait until they all realize that Dead Reckoning pt1 is equally as non stop intense as this one.

For future reference, if the question to seeing anything Tom Cruise do on screen is "Did he really do that?", the answer is always yes. He really did the Halo jump, the helicopter piloting and every other crazy thing you see. There is a running joke on TC just doing these MI movies to eventually die making one.
Really like your reactions guys! A lot of people have missed, what I feel is a really great call back to M:I 1... When the we first meet the White Widow she is giving a speech and she mentions MAX. Max is the broker from M:I 1 that wanted the NOC list that sent Ethan to Langley. Most speculate that she was the White Widow's mother. They don't specify of course. But, it's one that I was sure you guys were going to catch. Keep up the great work guys. Can't wait to see the reaction for Dead Reckoning!

Welp, I just asked my BingAI if Tom Cruise has done his own stunts for any Mission Impossible movie, and it turns out Tom Cruise has performed 100% of his own stunts in EVERY Mission Impossible movie, since the first one. He INSISTS on performing his own stunts bc he wants the action to be authentic.
I'd love to say I've been here through all the movies, but I just wanted to swing by to rewatch Cavill's arms reload scene. God that's such a cool move...
Was waiting for this one!!
saw this at my local cinema with my lil bro and cousin!we have a blast with this movie series, since we saw the Woo movie with Cruise in the lead role in the cinema too back in the day!!
It's Cavill - like TRAVEL. Not CA-vill like Seville. Loved him in this! And that bathroom fight scene was filled with so much bad-assery from Cruise & Cavill you totally forget they get their butts kicked until Ilsa brings a gun to a fist-fight. LOL
You knew Walker was up to no good the second he handed Sloane a pristine phone saying it was Lark's when we had seen it get destroyed in the bathroom fight.
Oh no, I really need to watch the next one before your reaction. 😱
I really like the call back to the first Mission Impossible character Max is the mother of the White Widow in this movie doing the same job her mother did of selling information and brokering deals.
2:34 that ominous cues of the music signals danger ahead. So good!! Lorne Balfe did a fantastic job with this
29:58 tom cruise broke his ankle in this shot.
there was an interview from graham norton show, where the casts of Mission Impossible were the guest...they showed how tom cruise broke his ankle and he explained that after he broke his ankle, the production were put on hold for several months...
These films keep getting better - a testament to Cruise's drive
I remember the first time I saw the bathroom fight scene thinking why Cavill had to use the briefcase? Why couldn't just punch him? It would've had the same effect 😂😂 and I started to doubt him and noticed that he looked kinda of smug every time they talked about Lark, also the second time I saw it I noticed him having a silent conversation with "Lark" before the bathroom fight scene
Ok but Henry could ruin my life ANY DAY of the week...I would still say "thank you, next week same time?"😂😅❤
The "I am the storm" quote is actually not that well known or at least its not clear where its actually from. I think it's more just obvious what the line is. I think Breaking Bad made the whole "i am the danger" thing famous.
48:13 Speaking of good guys getting to the play the bad guys, Chris Evans played a great villain in The Gray Man. Hope you guys get around to this movie as well!
Cruise did actually make the HALO jump... Multiple times (there is a making of video). Cavill wanted to, but wasn't allowed to since he didn't have enough experience.
When I saw this in theaters and we found out Walker was John Lark, I said, outloud, "Why Superman?! Why?!"
Can't wait for you guys to watch dead reckoning!!
Y’all should check out “The Man from U.N.C.L.E”(Henry Caville) and “Knight and Day”(Tom Cruise).

I think Oak would enjoy The Man from UNCLE with Henry Cavill! Would love to see a reaction to that. I don’t enjoy the spy genre either, but thoroughly enjoyed that movie.
Cavill is actually pronounced as Cah-Vill, not Cuh-Veel. Henry even made a short video about how to pronounce Cavill. Sounds like "travel".
I remember watching this back in 2018
i liked some of the more quiet moments... ilsas and ethans meeting in paris.. or even the assult sequence ethan plays out in his head...
My favorite MI movie and one of my fave movies all time
Cannot wait for your reaction to Mi 7. And then after that we'll all have to wait a long 18 months for part 8. The final one (question mark)
