There’s a time I would’ve thought 10,000 was crazy expensive for a repaint, but after seeing the level of detail and experience that goes into it, that sounds like a steal. Good work guys!

I absolutely love how the less exposed areas got sprayed too. Top notch detail.

I would charge 10k for this and even pay 10k, this is what a good real paint job looks and is like. Excellent job guys

A YEAR LATER since my last comment and countless rewatches and ive finally finished painting my car all the way down to the jambs like you guys! Thank you guys so much for this video. it more than literally held my hand like a baby through each step of my paint job.

5:40 please wear a dust mask those fine particles are really bad for your lungs.

Seen too many rattle can jobs done on these little cars man. This is so refreshing. Definitely taking notes off of this video. Nobody ever shows their method for the door jambs. I 100% plan on stripping my whole car down like this just because it looks so good

What a great job. That Mazda soul/crystal red is a real head-turner. Always gets my attention when I see that particular red on the street.

Wow. I thought painting was easy. Francisco said a couple of years in HS, then three more years as assistant and now he’s a professional painter. It’s hard. It’s not like detailing that I learned super fast.

You can get good in less time but not much less! A year or two in paint prep/masking is definitely needed to understand the process fully (how to deal with unexpected damage etc)

In case anyone was wondering, all of the intricate prep work and attention to detail is why this job was $10K and a Maaco paint job is $1200.

Why was the entire rear end primed separately from the first coat? Truly asking. Wouldnt it have been faster and more seamless to not tape that area up the first time?

you show the painter laying down the primer but not the base and clear , whats the point !

@@jimzangora The guy said etch primer but Jason though it was edge primer. Not a big deal just thought it was funny that's all.

That is a 10k paint work wtf the prep work is realy bad y wont paid 3k for What i se in the video for a 10k paint work you have to strip all paint to the metal and Start whit a New solid base

That primer dust can kill you. Use a good mask.

Jesus the prepping was horrible man especially for 10k lmaooo more like 5k

Why do people (always) say that prepping the car for paint is easy? The clearcoat on my new to me Miata is shitting itself and everyone is like "oh take it to Maaco but do the prep yourself" as if that's easy. I watch pros doing it and it looks fucking impossible. I've painted stuff on my car before and if you don't get the surface 100% clear of imperfections it looks like shit and adheres like shit

Anyone can do it, it takes lots of patience and know-how. I mean lots of patience. There is probably 200 hours into these last 2-3 videos. Not for the faint of heart.

10k is only the beginning for paint, you don’t know a thing about custom paint jobs if you go by maaco jobs. Concours level probably starts at 30k plus, and can go up for ever and ever. Koeniggsegg does a paint job on theirs that would start in the six figures, healthy six figures to replicate aftermarket, IF you could find a shop willing and able to do it (probably nope). My guess is 10k comes from Chicago doing some prep work for them? Could be, I wouldn’t even expect show car worthy paint for such a price unless I am doing a lot of the work.
