3 Types of Paint Correction - TESTED
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The front bumper on the miata is so badly oxidized, you might not even believe it’s painted, and the hood is nothing but a large pile of scratches. This week Zach tests 3 different methods of paint correction, from expensive and extensive, to quick, cheap, and…. Minty? Let’s see which method makes the most improvement on the miata’s ratty old paint!

So my neighbor has been a mechanic for 40 plus years and has taught me a lot of helpful tricks, he showed me that linch seed oil from any like hardware store like ace hardware or home depot or lowes will have it. You boil the oil and use a microfiber rag and lather it on the paint and you can also go ahead and buff it. The oil will revive the paint like it was from factory. I used it on my 2001 jeep cherokee sport and the forest green metallic looks amazing
@mikecorsini85
4 жыл бұрын
You could get pretty much the same results with any oil filled polish. Many like to use Meguiars m07 which is pretty cheap and sold at any auto parts store. It won't do much for scratches though
@HaralHeisto
3 жыл бұрын
Just as a warning to anyone who does this, store your rags in water after doing this. Linseed oil can self-ignite when it dries out, plenty of garages and home workshops have been burned to the ground by linseed rags. Oh, and this won't work on cars from the last 5-10 years, as most manufacturers have switched from oil-based to water-based paints.
I've been waiting for this Money Pit since last wednesday.

For a new detailer i would recommend to use a long throw da as opposed to a rotary buffer as rotary takes lots of skill to get the best results. For the 3D most all in ones are pad dependant so for your heavier cut needs use a heavier cutting pad switch it out and with the same polish will get more out. I really like to see detailing videos from you guys as its a big part of the automotive hobby that everyone can enjoy and take pride in their vehicles regardless of what they have

waxing is the only time where you DONT use a circular motion. if something does get caught in the applicator, its way easier to see a circular scratch than a straight line. the point of using circular motions is to attack scratches from all angles.... with polish.
Great that you did this, bro. I owned a car wash and detailing center here in the Philippines and I’ve been wanting to see you buff your mx5’s paint since you started this series. Lol

Real talk this my favorite show on donut, its like "yeah I did that before but I'm still gonna watch" and I LOVE IT...I'm super hyped for turboing though and to see how proficient Zach is with dent popper to work put that fender and show people how to cover up paint damage (paint matched stickers are the weirdest thing I've seen done but hey it definitely saves time once you get any bare metal sealed up to prevent future rust)

Manly Black To be honest you can do a better job than this guy with some cheaper Rupes compounds and a Harbor Freight polisher you can pick up for $50. Besides cutting corners on materials this guy made some cringe worthy mistakes on the process alone. You could do a much better job for way less than $130.

4 жыл бұрын
@@collinmost678 agreed, I spent 60$cad on my 3 step polish kit, even came with 3 different polishing pads. Sure the bottles are small, but fuck I don't need alot of polish, certainly not half a litre. Automagic ftw
@Patrick94GSR
4 жыл бұрын
Braeden Pokar yeah but you need WAY more than 1 pad for each step for a whole car. 2-3 pads minimum for each step up to 6 pads per step for a big SUV or truck. You could easily spend $150 in pads alone. But that’s necessary to ensure you’re not cross contaminating panels with residue stuck in the pads.

Actually with virtually no clear coat on that front bumper I wouldn’t be surprised if that was paint rather than debris being picked up on the pad. He seems to have used new pads for each method so for that small of an area it would be insane to have that much build up after already washing and coating the car. Normally with enough clear coat on the panel you should be picking up fine debris and not any paint.
