Hey, thanks guys! Great interview! As a black man, I’ve always had a very positive relationship with all my Filipino friends here in America. So I’m really looking forward to going to the Philippines early next year to enjoy some island hopping. Definitely on my top two places to check out for retirement.

I've been here seven months today, May 5th I landed and never looked back. You're so right about how welcoming these people are towards melonated men like ourselves. I can't remember the last time I saw so many smiley faces. The Pinay experience here is on a whole other level! Other than business I have no interest in going back to the West.

I live in the Philippines and no one has ever held a door for me. I can leave the mall with packages and the Filipinos will slam the door right in your face. A guy turned around and looked at me and I had arms full and he slammed the door in my face. The security guard even said why did you do that to the man. I'm in my 70s.

Evan, you would love KL. You are very close to Kota Kinabalu. Kind of like Malaysia's provences.😁Malaysia is a Muslim majority country...no alcohol. Exceptions are made for non Muslims, but it costs more and more restrictions on who can sell alcohol. The food scene in Malaysia is amazing.😋

Speaking of my hometown San Francisco 🌉, a decent place is $4000 per month. Add utilities. The 2 can be $5000 per month. 😖 For my hometown feel in Metro Manila, I prefer Eastwood City. Family name of the most famous San Francisco actor for less than 1/2 the price quoted above. 😎 Good 👍 episode.

I hold the door in NY all the time as others do for me. I find Americans as nice as Philippinos and less nosyActually, retail workers have better attitudes than most filippinos working. There is a lot more Filippinos who want to come here than vice versa. Come to Park Ave or Sutton place in Manhattan and there is no litter, beggars or crime.. the rest of Manila is filled with, crime, beggars, unless you are only going to stay in BGC..

Dubious monthly calculations there 🤔. $45 per night = a minimum of $1350 per month. Which leaves $250 for groceries, eating and drinking out + transports for a month. $8 per day for all those things. Sorry no 🤷‍♂️. Especially not in BGC.

..............Why don't you just say you cant afford it...period. It's not for a Hobo.....plus you compute the rental on a daily rate. If you do a monthly rental it can go down to less than $1K. Go look and see if you can find a cheaper rent in the US with all the conveniences of a modern city. A 1-BR apartment in LA will cost you $1800-2000 plus a month or even more and it's a 35 y.o. apartment with lots of cockroaches and your neighbors are the homeless people.

But if you want to drink alone hell yeah 250 paysos 1 bottle of whisky.
