George Michael was 17 when he started with Wham! and he wrote this song when he was in his early 20's. This man's songwriting skills were something else.

My fav. Wham! song. The part that always got me was when he said, "My God, I don't even think that I love you." I was like, you're working your fingers to the bone for someone you're not even sure you love.??? 🤷🏾‍♀️ This song is definitely up there as one of my faves. Thanks for requesting it Ladibug.

The R&B duo you were asking about was Hall & Oats. Fun fact Charlie Puth's "Done for me was 'Inspired'" by this song. Also you might want to look up a Group called "Naturally 7" they do a song called "Let it go" using the George Michael beat. Here is the catch, They don't use instruments; its all done by their vocals. When they sent the demo to George he heard it once and as soon as he finished gave them his approval. They even toured with him

You were trying to think of Daryl Hall and John Oates. I think their sound is quite different. They mix rock and R&B together incredibly well. Biggest selling male duo in music history.
