I grew up in the 1970s and 1980s listening to music like this. Love it. Stations that played this kind of music used to be all over the dial. Thank God we have the internet that gives us access to this kind of music again. God bless you.
Just my good fortune to discover this channel. Back when music was reel. ;) And yes, I have subscribed.
Wow! Reminds me of what my Parents listened to back then. My family owned a Supermarket in N.H. and this was the music you used to hear while shopping. Our stations like this were WZID & WHOM in New Hampshire.
I love this 💕. Snowy cold Jan 2 day here in Indianapolis. It’s so great to hear this nostalgic radio sound. Happy New Year to everyone!!!💕❤️

Sad that is is "nostalgic"....but the more you listen the more "current" it all becomes!

"Sometimes, when i walk by myself, I think about things like... 'where am I?' and 'where am I going?'"
This is great stuff. I grew up listening to this and it brought back sweet memories. I was in a CVS today and I was surprised at 18:49 the music they were playing. Nothing recognizable nor calming. Thanks for the music.
I love hearing these airchecks.

@23:58 The Shadow of Your Smile….a classic for this format.
Music from 50 years ago... Remarkable.
A lot of this music is available from the reissue CD label Vocalion. Thanks for posting!
This is FANTASTIC!
Wow, this takes me back in such a good way! It's a wonderful, much needed break from the noisy craziness in today's world for sure. I think my blood pressure has lowered a bit🤗. Sooooooo glad your channel popped up in my youtube. You've now got a new subscriber from just outside of Toronto, Ontario😁🇨🇦 Looking forward to more content - this is so fantastic👌🏻 Happy New Year & stay warm, eh 😉🇨🇦

Thanks for your kind comments. Yes, this music is "simply beautiful"!
Thanks for posting! Please continue, each one of these tapes are historical treasures. As far as I know, most of this music has never made it to digital format, so this is the only way to listen to it without somehow acquiring the old vinyl records.

This stuff was actually played on 10" reels. Beautiful music stations were usually automated with 4 or 5 reel-to-reel decks, depending on the station, and cart "carousels" to run the spots and IDs.

The Escape channel on SiriusXM plays this type of music 24/7. Check it out!
This is great. Thank you for posting it.
Do a 5 or 6 hour mix of this please!?
Great stuff. Thank you for this.
From a time when this kind of music was everywhere you went. Office buildings, theaters and shopping venues. People actually left their radios playing all day to this music. It was the theme of a generation. At some point, it was decided that this pleasant and optimistic music was no longer needed. That's when everything turned to SHIT! No mall shootings with this music playing!

We had one of those intercom systems with the master in the kitchen and a speaker in each room. My Mom kept it on WDOK all day and it played throughout the house. Interesting that most of the kids liked it too. I turned up the speaker in my room often, although I also listened to rock of course. I also noticed most of the girls I dated liked this kind of music. It was everywhere!!!

Indeed this was a soundtrack of a generation - certainly my generation. I grew up in the late 60’s and early 70’s - our living room console played Beautiful Music all day (thanks Mom), and it was on in many shops and markets. What a wonderful time it was to grow up in. Nice to reflect back and listen to these air checks.

@@dsmith6685 My parents and grandparents (who lived next door) listned to KABL and KFOG in San Francisco and I enjoyed listening to easy listening music as much as the rock/pop/soul on the Top 40 stations KFRC and KYA in the 60s and 70s. My friend's parents had an intercom in their house and they always had easy listening music on also.
All we need now is for someone to start posting John Doremus radio programs

@@oneohtwopointfive Thanks I will. Grew up in the upper Thumb of Michigan listening to John on the Beautiful 102
9:28 "Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime"
7:00 "On The Street Where You Live"
0:06 "Easy To Love"
Does anyone know what the melody is starting at 31:00? I'm sure I've heard it before but just cannot place it. The orchestra sounds like the Living Strings.

It’s called “When I Lost You” by Irving Berlin.

@@hansjeffborger8038 Yes, I am fairly sure it is the Living Strings, conducted by Johnny Douglas. From their album called Melody of Love. Thanks again for your assistance with this.
so there was a time when elevator music was popular on the radio?

Are you kidding? This format was one of the top rated up until the early to mid 1980s. Many markets had several stations playing relaxing music. "Elevator Music" as you call it ruled.
