WEYMOUTH to OSMINGTON MILLS | South West Coast Path | Weymouth Walking

This is a superb walk to do from Weymouth. It follows the South West Coast Path and ends with lunch at a very picturesque and historic pub in Osmington Mills. The walk is about 5 miles from Weymouth.

One of my faves! I did this earlier in the week, in the other direction. Worth noting for your viewers that during August there is a megalopolis of a pop up campsite - Ewleaze spread out over several fields and the walk is much less pleasant as you effectively have to walk through the busy campsites. But at other times its gorgeous. Worth continuing to Ringstead Bay if you have the stamina.

Oh lovely!! It was really so beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing that information. I will pin your comment so t he at it will be at the top of the comments and hopefully people considering doing this in August will see it. Great to know about Ringstead Bay. I hope to Camp in Osmington some time, so may well do that.

What a beautiful walk and on a beautiful day too Louise! Fascinating about the floral clock in the gardens there. I haven't walked beyond those gardens before or onto Osmington Mills, but I did have a coach trip to there on a Geography field trip there from school in the 1970s. Thank you so much for taking us with you. Fun that the coastal path takes you right through the fair ground. The Osmington White Horse looks bigger than I remember it! Great work! Paul

5 minutes in and I knew it. You forgot to set your watch😂and the reason and I quote “I was doing video things” 😂😂😂honestly Louise you never fail to deliver great comedy moments👍now let’s get back to the walk and see what more classics you come out with😂………😂”half a mile over the stile”even you liked that one😂you seem to get funnier as you get closest to your destination must be hunger and tiredness👍you are a star keep up the good work

🤣🤣🤣🤣 Yes! I think you are right! Shortcake Lane was the bit where I had to delve into my bag for chocolate and water. Was losing the plot a bit there, hence no commentary from there down the hill to the village. Thanks so much for your continued smile inducing comments.

Oh dear Louise! Should have checked the bus times. I had a feeling they might not be all that frequent. Nice walk though, but not the best ending. Take care of yourself x

Ah! Thank you! I was 2 minutes late for the bus frustratingly, but it gave me a chance to sit down and go through all my video footage and get rid of the rubbish and dud clips. The sign said 1/4 mile walk and Google said 20 minutes walk to the bus. Both seemed like they were not quite right. It seemed a lot longer than 1/4 mile and took me about 30 minutes, but I stopped to film a few times. The ending was worse than I showed here. On my return to the bus stop I tripped over my own foot and cut my knee! Luckily had basic first aid things to sort it on the scene but had to go shopping for better plasters in Weymouth! Also, when I got off the bus in Weymouth, a strange green bug stung me in three places on my arm! So it really was not the greatest ending, but it was such a lovely walk! Take care of yourselves too 🤗

@@SouthWestSundays Hope your knee is healing now and the green bug sting is less stingy! I got bitten by a horsefly on my last walk - ouch! Now turned into a large heat bump!

Worse than having to wait ages for a countryside bus is missing the last one, which happened to me more than once! I'll do that walk sometime to Osmington Mills.
