CAWSAND to CREMYLL Walk | South West Coast Path | Mount Edgecumbe | Cornwall
Join me for a beautiful few miles on the South West Coast Path initially for a wander from the beautiful village of Cawsand in Cornwall to Cremyll.
I took the ferry over from Plymouth to Cawsand and I caught the ferry from Cremyll back to Plymouth to do this walk.
In the video I said I would let you know the Mount Edgecumbe website address, so here it is:www.mountedgcumbe.gov.uk/visi...

Another great video as always. The Wembury rock is known locally as the Mewstone. The Royal William Yard was a victualling yard where Royal Naval ships would fill up with supplies of food and drink before settling off on their voyages. Nowadays it is high end restaurants and apartments. Keep up the great work and am looking forward to next Sundays video, best wishes,John.

Thanks so much John for writing about the Royal William Yard. I recorded a VoiceOver for it, but it did not come out. So I am very pleased that you wrote this. Really pleased that you enjoyed the video too 🤗 Louise
Very nice video. Great walk, beautiful nature. 👌🤗🍀
Hi Louise. You had a very active day. Absolutely stunning video, beautiful scenery. The weather has been very changeable. You have to dress for all weathers just lately. Thank you for sharing and hope you are having a lovely weekend. Best wishes Dave and Dawn ❤️

Thank you Dave and Dawn! I am having a nice relaxing day today after yesterday’s excursions and a late night editing 🤗
What a wonderful video Louise. I saw on the comments how many steps you had done, very impressive/crazy. I love your honesty with these walks, I think most people, myself included, get a bit lost. You found some amazing views, thank you.

Thank you Debs! My pleasure!
Such a wonderful walk Louise, so much to look at and enjoy! I'm glad you found your way in the end. A bit confusing with no signs! I love a boat trip. I bet that was a nice way to finish your day out! 😊

@@SouthWestSundaysWow 😲 walked your feet off!
Lovely video Louise. When I saw this video on my notifications I thought ‘we must do this walk, this week’ . Having watched it I am not so sure; I hate the thought of getting lost 🫤 We’ll go to Mount Edgecumbe and do a walk around the park, hopefully we won’t get lost there! We do love the country park. I look forward to you doing the walk to Rame Head, maybe we can manage that 😊

Oh nice!! I hope you really enjoy Mount Edgecumbe Park. I was really impressed with the abundance of signposts in there! I really want to explore it in more detail than I did sometime.
I love this part of Cornwall - sometimes called 'The Forgotten Corner of Cornwall' - often overlooked by tourists to Cornwall, but much visited by daytrippers from across the border in Devon. The Camelia trail is amazing - best seen in January - it is stunning then. I have oft admired the view from the folly - I must admit I didn't know about the stones coming from demolished churches. Shame the cafe, etc, is all closed on Fridays and Saturdays. I think some of the footpath signs could definitely be a bit clearer! Well done on navigating the route though - you did really well! I do know what that stone shelter is by the path, but I will let others have a go in saying what it is! It has an interesting back story. Another great video Louise! I really enjoyed 'following your footsteps' virtually here - lovely and relaxing with fabulous views! Fab work! Paul

@@SouthWestSundays That shelter Louise is: Picklecombe Fort Seat - A seat made from a doorway and enclosing a small niche with a piscina (shallow basin in a church near the altar for washing communion vessels) at the back. The carved stone comes from the churches of St. George and St. Lawrence at Stonehouse.[from Wikipedia]. I knew what it was called but I didn't know it came from those two churches - a bit like the folly at the top of the hill!

@westcountrywanderings Oh wow! That’s really interesting! I love how they used bits of old churches to build these places! Thanks so much for telling us!

@@SouthWestSundays You're welcome Louise!
You must be incredibly fit, doing that walk and the Park Run before it. Do you count your steps? Just have clocked quite a few extra ones with all those wrong turns. But as usual, it was all very enjoyable. Thanks Louise. Until we meet again. Take care

You are partly right Amanda! It’s made from 2 places of worship. See West Country Wanderings explanation that he wrote here today. 🤗
