WETA-TV is the PBS member television station licensed to Washington D.C, the capital of the United States. Launched on 2nd October 1961, the station is owned by the Greater Washington Educational Telecommunications Association and is a sister station to National Public Radio (NPR) member WETA (90.9 FM). Both outlets share studios in nearby Arlington County, Virginia. They have produced programs that are distributed nationally by PBS, which include the PBS NewsHour, Washington Week, many of the Ken Burns documentaries, and A Capitol Fourth.
My next video may be a logo history on CBS Special Presentation (suggested by noisepuppet) or Logos From 1951. This video was released for educational purposes only.

Thank you for 7 years! (2015-2022) What are your favorite logos from WETA? Mine would be the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th logos! Oh, and I especially loved the Mr. Rogers idents!

The 7th logo
9:14 Sesame Street! A classic! And it might as well be the longest-running children's show from PBS, since 1969!

It is indeed a classic! I remember watching that show when I was 7 years old! I always used to get very excited, and my mum even got me an Elmo plush for a gift, and a Sesame Street plate that I used lots.
15:46 I don’t know what I did, but you’re welcome, Tony!
I love the 1983, 1988, 1991, 1994, 1997 and 2006 logos. Plus, a few thoughts: The kids logos where they literally pronounce the call letters like it's a word is kinda amusing, because I used to do something like that when I was little (wugbuh, wi-net, Kara instead of KERA, etc.), even though I kinda knew they were just call letters, not an actual word. The ones with the blue circle P-Heads and characters from different PBS Kids shows was also done by a few other stations. I remember back when TechScanner was still on here 15 years ago, she posted the WVIZ variant of the Mr. Rogers one with the fish tank. The JonTron edit after the Barney station ID cracked me up. Finally, with this Washington D.C.-based PBS station affiliate, I certainly hope PBS doesn't pull anything with this video like they did the other person's PBS Kids video, cause that's messed-up.

Thanks for watching! 1. The kid's logos where they actually pronounce the call letters are amusing indeed. Sort of sounds like "We 'da kids!" or "Weetakids!" 2. That's an interesting fact. I didn't know the Mr. Rogers fish tank ident was seen on other stations. 3. I just had to edit him in, because said ident made me raise an eyebrow. 4. I am aware that I added some idents from the kid's version of WETA, but it's not actually the original PBS Kids logos themselves, so it's highly unlikely I'll get a strike. Stay tuned for my logo history on CBS Special Presentation.

@@JontyMaster that's good to know.
Wow I never knew WETA had there own kids channel at one point even though they kinda shared it with pbs kids, I think that’s really cool now I know another old kids channel thanks to you JontyMaster. 😃👍
Amazing WETA logo history, Jonty. Congrats on 7 years too!
13:56 i grew up with this logo and i used to watched create as a kid
8:55 Arthur...
yes
Fun Fact: The music for WETA-TV’s 3rd logo could be heard on one scene of one episode of the Disney animated series “Teacher’s Pet”.
The 4th logo... i thought some was going to sing: W-E-T-A!!!!!
Good Job and happy 7th year
man, the 8th and 9th logos are the best memories I have. I miss these bumpers! 😢
Good ident history of an PBS station WETA (in Washington), Jonty! And congratulations for your channel's 7 years! (since 2015) - My favourite ident from WETA would be the 7th ident. The animation in it is decent. Oh, and be CAREFUL! There are PBS Kids idents you included, so I hope you don't get a copyright strike from PBS and then get 2 copyright strikes just like what happened with TR3X PR0DÚCTÍ0NS ;-;

Thank you once again, Man Ferro! The 7th ident has catchy music! And I am aware that I added some idents from the kids version of WETA, but it's not actually the original PBS Kids logos themselves, so it's highly unlikely I'll get a strike.

I also uploaded them to KZread unlisted to test if there is any copyright, and there wasn't a single copyright claim in any of them, so I'm alright.
Those WETA kids logos bring back great memories for me.
Really Love WETA

You’re Welcome.
Why did TR3X got a copyright claim from PBS?
@JontyMaster
2 жыл бұрын
Because PBS Kids is very strict when it comes to copyright.
