I was in Barcelona last week and went to Jaume's place for a shave...it was simply the best I've ever received. He is such a warm wonderful person, a classic atmosphere, and his skills were unparalleled. We talked about the history of the city, the evolution over the last few years, and I enjoyed every minute. Wish I could have stayed longer. If you are ever in Barça do yourself a favor and go see Jaume...you won't regret it.

I'm from the UK but I happened to be Barcelona for work earlier this week, so I thought I'd contact Jaume. I don't speak Spanish or Catalan, so I typed a message into Google Translate and sent it to the phone number listed. I didn't expect a reply because of the short notice and the likelihood that my message made no sense, but to my surprise, Jaume said he could see me the next day at 9am. The shop is wonderful - it feels like stepping back in time but it's also a refuge from the outside noise and humidity. It's also so clean and tidy. I was very vague in what kind of haircut I wanted because I wasn't sure what kind of style is usually done in a barbershop in Spain, and if didn't know how to ask anyway, so again Google Translate was used. As it turned out, the whole experience was wonderful. Not only is the haircut one of the best I've ever had, but it felt like it was carried out with care and skill - not just a haircut but a really relaxing experience. I also really appreciated the lack of music, which seems to be very unusual. The shave was the same - relaxing as well as giving a really great end product. More than any visit to a barbershop before, I felt like care and time was being taken over what was done, rather than it being rushed to move on to the next customer. I was absolutely thrilled with the whole experience. It's just a shame that I don't live close enough to visit regularly! Anyone who visits Barcelona should visit Jaume, not just for a great haircut, or a great shave, but to have it done by someone who clearly cares about what they do, in an environment which reflects their care. If I ever return to Barcelona, I'll make sure to return.

For me, it has always been the noise of busy engines whirring past contrasted with the calmness of a soapy lather/precision shave inside the shop which is so captivating. It shows how much of a peaceful escape these barbershops provide.

I have to be honest. My fave part of a shave is the prep before and clean up when done.

Professional and on point with everything he did. Looks like a great way to spend an afternoon.

Love the “feel” of the old-school barber shop!

Me too! So happy we found this beautiful shop from 1925; they are definitely getting harder and harder to find💈❤️ It makes us sad that the future is uncertain for this shop :(

I've experienced and watched so many shavings, but this is by far the best. He is a pure example of professionalism.

This looks like one of the best shaves in a while. I don't see any irritation and the post shave application was on point.

Jaume has amazing skills, expert hands 100%! Please make more episodes in Spain. So many good barbers out there! Next episode should be in Madrid for sure :)

End (aftershave etc) was surprisingly good. Not a big fan of the rest (a bit rushed in my view) but every barber has its own different service.

Really great technique and skills. Perfect razor angles. Just an incredibly great shave.

I just returned from Cucuta Colombia where I had an amazing head shave with an electric shaver that was as close as a blade. Great experience
