"Wet n' Wild"" TRAXXAS XRT 8s vs ARRMA Kraton 8s EXB

Big dogs with big power. The storms passed and it was time to get wet and loose. Two upgraded beasts go head to head. So far the M2C prototype XRT bell crank is doing Killer!!! Finally finished a run with steering.

    Good to see you again! I'm glad you and your family are safe and well. I hope your home survived with no problems. What a series of storms man the weather is just out of control everywhere these days. The XRT with the mods is really awesome seems like one tough RC and the Kraton is looking great. Well I hope everything dries out soon and you can get back to normal, whatever that may be.

    Thanks so much Harry 🤗. Our house had a few problems during the torrential rains. Had to dig a trench in my side yard out to the front and our storm drain backed up flooding our court 👀. We lifted the manhole cover to get water draining and it eventually cleared thank goodness. Water was far up our driveway 👀. The XRT is definitely coming together now. The King Kraton felt awesome with the taller front shocks 😍

    SO sick man! Dog wanted a piece of that rubber. 😂 The people at the dog park next to where I run my RCs are always excited when I show up as they let the dogs chase my XMAXX and get tired out and sleep all night. The huskies can go for 3 battery packs of running before they slow down a bit. Insane stamina, lol.

My EXB K8 and Outcast 8s I feel like they need way more routine maintenance, which I'm totally fine with! @@humblebeast7232 yes indeed 🤗. Should do just fine. I think the 1100 5687 is kinda small for the Kraton, but works fine with the O8s and stock Backflips. Just don't tax it with heavier wheels for too long. It can get too hot in the summer. The Max5 provides better top performance, but Max6 does very well.

    Hey Rich! I was hoping you might have an opinion on if a Xrt or Sledge is a more durable basher. I’m not near as hardcore as you are, but give my rigs a good pounding on our mx track. A few upgrades aren’t a big deal, I just don’t want to be constantly breaking it. I’m having a hard time deciding, and thought you might have some insight.

  • @richduperbash2966

    @richduperbash2966

    Жыл бұрын

    I'd lean towards the XRT personally. It's far bigger and probably better suited for the MX track. The Sledge is pretty tough once you upgrade the chassis and motor mount. The stock motor mount is basically junk and will destroy gears from flex, poor design, and materials. Both trucks have considerable potential, but the Sledge requires more to make durable from what I've experienced. The XRT really only needs a better spur gear/pinion, wing mount support (GarageLife RC), and a stronger bell crank. Both are pricey options, but I think the XRT is more fun and a better value in the end. 🍻

    I love these 1/6 scale Beasts, but they require more space to truly enjoy safely and to their potential. Both have impressive durability overall. The 1/8 Kraton 6s is a must have in my mind 😍. Such an awesome all around basher. The 1/10 and 1/8 rigs can typically take more abuse being smaller and lighter. Unless you have a monster sized yard (or land), the K6s would be a better option. Great rig to jump back into the hobby with and tons of aftermarket parts available. 🍻

    Hey Rich how you doin buddy? Do you have the m2c wide kit on your xrt also or is it just the hex extenders i think you said? Just curious. That sucks on the bell crank on the xrt but i know you and all the other testers that use m2c want to get it perfect before they put it into production. Im waiting on m2c bc i dont want a full metal vitavon bell crank on the xrt and have to worry about it breaking something else. Also what do you reccomend for a servo horn on the xrt? I have a powerhobbies 729mbl and thinking about getting another but before i pull the trigger on it i wanted to ask around and see what other servo options were usable for the xrt along with a better horn for it. Thanks for you're time my friend. I hope you have better weather out there to bash in soon.

Makes for an awesome wide stance that works perfectly with the 8s Backflips 😍. Not certain, but I believe the Hot Racing XMaxx servo horn will fit just fine on the XRT. They share the same part #. I totally agree with the bellcrank. All alloy isn't horrible, but it's not ideal either. M2C has nailed it with this new design. Testing should be wrapped up soon. My guess is the next few days. My wife might not like the idea tho lol. And thank you for the hot racing servo horn option. I like the powerhobbies servo on the X-Maxx. My first rc since i was 15 i got last year and it was a kraton 6s blx. I wish i would have done more research bc i didnt realize kratons take so much more add ons to make them what many traxxas already are out of the box as far as durability. There are a few arrma i like tho. And no worries on taking yalls time on getting the m2c xrt bell crank just right. Perfection takes time and you and the other testers are the gears behind Mitch and Avery bro. Yall are the ones that give them the input they need to make the awesome stuff they do. So thank you to the m2c crew and all you awesome testers for what you do. You guys really help make the m2c brand what it is. And its why many many many of us in the rc community wont buy vitavon or wfo if m2c has it. So again brotha thank you. I hope this finds you and yours well my friend.

The xrt is a great truck but I still think kraton 4s 6s and 8s are the way! Just my opinion! With traxxas 300 dollars more exspensive you put that 300 into upgrades on kraton then it's night and day! • @richduperbash2966

    @richduperbash2966

    The XRT handles 100% better in my opinion. The bulkheads sit only slightly higher on the XMaxx. The XRT has a big strength advantage with the flat style chassis. If I had to choose, my preference would be the XRT. For pure monster truck stunting, the XMaxx is better, but it rolls easily and bounces about way more. Both are fantastic fun. Really boils down to preference. 🍻

    Rich I have a question. When you say you have half silicone earplug half 20 million weight in the center why do you still use the 20 miilion weight? I heard you say you had this setup in the RTR Kraton 8s and wanted to ask you. Don't the silicone earplugs lock the center diff making it not even be in use? If that is the case what's the point of still using the 20 million weight oil along with it? So in this EXB you just have silicone earplugs in the center diff with no 20 million weight diff oil? As usual I love this video 😂🤣

  • @richduperbash2966

    @richduperbash2966

    Жыл бұрын

    Hey Brother 🤗. Silicone ear plugs don't lock the diff in these heavy Beasts 😍. It just slows down the diff action and rear to front power transfer. You can still turn the diff by hand with some leverage. I use to run a mix of 20mil and Silicone earplug. Over time, I tried straight ear plugs and it works better, especially once the diff heats up and the silicone softens during the run. The trick is packing the ear plug in carefully making certain to leave ample space for the planetary gear when closing up the diff. If the lid isn't fully seated, the gears won't mesh properly and the gears will get damaged. I can typically pack around 1.25 to 1.5 ear plugs into the ARRMA 8s diffs. My guess is Silicone ear plugs is around twice the firmness of 20mil. It definitely does a better job of mitigating ballooning and getting the power down 😍

    This stops being fun after the third control arm. It’s cool for content but if you drove not past it’s limits maybe people that are not rich my consider it. I started with a 170$ 1/14 buggy that is solidly built. Will your wheels hold if you jump it half as high as you doing today, like that your control arms are good for at least 500 hours? Theses cars should come with that data. Simple chip for the price.
