    Excellent video! Thanks for the list of tool links; very helpful. I've bookmarked your page of patterns; thanks for that link as well. Question: what is the overhand tool you're using from 0:28-0:45? I've rewatched that section several times and can't make up my mind if you're beveling or creasing. ;) I like the look of that particular tool.

    What’s the green board used underneath the leather while cutting which has some graduations on it pls suggest me where to buy it n what’s it called

    It usually is called a "self healing" cutting board. It protects the knife's cutting edge and you can purchase from most leather craft suppliers like Tandy Leather.

    seems like it might be prudent to tell people they can use a stack of business cards for the molding step instead of needing to make a special insert,

  • @Theleathercraftacademy

    @Theleathercraftacademy

    2 жыл бұрын

    Even better to use a stack of old credit cards in my opinion, as business cards are commonly made of paper. Wet leather and paper is not the best combination. In any case I would recommend the use of a mold designed for this particular purpose for serious makers. Here is the link to the mold am-leathercraft.com/products/acrylic-mold-to-make-leather-card-holders-10-x-5-x-0-7-cm?_pos=2&_sid=dbff972d8&_ss=r

  • @Theleathercraftacademy

    @Theleathercraftacademy

    6 жыл бұрын

    Sorry Yes, you are right, I have lost the footage where I am wetting the leather. In fact I did it just before I put the card holder on the mold. Soak the leather until it becomes really pliable, just a few seconds or until you see the leather has well absorbed water.

    I am confused on the tittle. Wet ?

  • @joemartins1970
    @joemartins19706 жыл бұрын

    Nice project, but I must be missing something here. The title refers specifically to wet molding but you never took the time to cover it in the video. I did see you insert a form near the end of the video, but if you moistened and formed the leather around that block it was left out of the final edit. While that doesn't take away from the finished product it did mean 3 and a half minutes and no coverage of the wet molding. "Making a card holder" would have been a more appropriate title.
