Not gonna lie when I clicked on this video I was wholly convinced that a felted handbag was gonna look awful, glad you proved me wrong ❤ you've got incredible skill
Absolutely love your design style and approach to your work. I also feel that the video editing matches the pace of your work very well. I'd be interested in any more videos you make about other projects. I also wanted to say your care of the craft is refreshing, I don't think I've ever seen someone comment on every post like you have for this video.
That is beautiful. So much love put in
Brilliant. Well done.

Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful bag. I have made a backpack with wool batt combined with cotton muslin for extra strength that saved me from quite so many wool batt layers before the wool roving. I am a little stuck on how to attach the straps though. I see you used a belt for❤❤ are the holes on one side or both sides?
😍😍😍😍😍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 que maravilloso trabajo 😃👍

So so beautiful! I am wanting to make a little wool pouch but with a wool rope and seamless. I can’t find a video of something similar- any tips on how to attach the wool rope to a little wool pouch would be so appreciated. Thank you!
@amusebyanjamusek
2 жыл бұрын
Sure. If you want to felt the rope seamlessly into the bag, you have to first felt the rope leaving the ends dry and than connect (felt) the ends it to the core of the bag while felting... hard to explain in words. All the best to you!
Super schön😍

What a lovely bag, and studio! Can you tell us what batts you used? I haven't made a bag yet, although I did make a hat that is now being made into a little bag. The straps are very clever too!

Nice tutorial. What do you call those huge roving wool? I only see little rolls? Where can you buy them? Thanks
@amusebyanjamusek

For this project I used coarse (about 30 mic) Gotland-Island fleece, but you can also use Bergshaf etc. wool in fleece. You can get it in specialized stores for felting - in Europe the bigger ones are: Woll Knoll, DHG, Word of wool...
Hi there, so nice to see how to felt a bag! Can you tell me where I can get this bamboo mat? Or what is it called?
@amusebyanjamusek
2 жыл бұрын
Those are bamboo blinds for the windows ;-). You have to be creative in felting.
Where did u buy the felting ? Thanks
What kind of waterproof top do you have on your table? I’d like something like that.

Hi Erik. I use a finely ribbed rubber mat.
Could you pls tell what you used as a resist? How many layers of wool did you make on each side? Did you use batt and roving both? I would like to make this bag for myself, I love it.
@amusebyanjamusek
2 жыл бұрын
For resist I used bubble wrap. 8 layers of wool on each side + 4 for the inside pocket. Batt for basis and roving for decoration. Have fun felting!
What was the tool you used at the end there? Looks like a wee comb or something. Beautiful job!

I think it was a razor to shave of any fuzzy bits.
@amusebyanjamusek
3 жыл бұрын
I used a regular razor - but you can only use it when the felt is totally dry.
Beautiful work.. what is the dimension of your resist vs those of the finished bag.. thank you
@amusebyanjamusek
Жыл бұрын
Thank you. The resist was about 25% bigger than the finished size. Factor of shrinkage was about 1,3.

Is that soap?
Hello, I am very fond of work in fur. But I don't know how to make them stick together. So I want to make sure that the soap you use is normal soap. Or soap that is used only for fur. Thank you.
@amusebyanjamusek
Жыл бұрын
Hi, I don't use fur, but only sheep wool. For wet-felting you can use just about any soap or detergent, but I use Marseille soap,
👏👏👏👏🤗🙏
Is the water hot? What type of soap are you using? TY
@amusebyanjamusek

Yes, the water should be as warm/hot. I use Marseille soap.

Beautiful work. I am new at wet felting. Love your purse. The wood iron tool. Where do you purchase that?
@amusebyanjamusek

You can get it in specialized shops for wet-felting (World of wool, Wollknoll, DHG Shop...) or somebody can make it for you.

For handbags I usually use Gotland or Bergschaf wool.
what shrinkage percentage we should account for initially ..Thanks beautiful project, but when I see no answers I take off my like button; it just doesn't seem fair.
@amusebyanjamusek

Dear Margot. The shrinkage factor for this project was about 1,4. (I suggest you always use factors for the calculations of shrinkage, not the percentages.) All the best to you.
