That was probably a quote from the show writers to their bosses when they showed them this episode.

Before it played I was like "Wait, this seems familiar" Then the characters say "This really seems familiar" I thought "Oh no, don't tell me they-" They did. I had tears (of joy).

When Paint It Black played in the first season, that's exactly where I knew I loved the show. I had such a big smile when this version played and I just couldn't stop.

I heard the score and was thinking "This sounds like Paint it Black... wait a second, this scene is familiar." Then the characters said "This seems familiar." and I started grinning like an idiot. As soon as Tao Okamoto pulled off her hat and revealed the dragon tattoo I lost my mind.

Michael He has made so many original soundtracks for GOT itself. Yes he does covers but that's not all he does. He was snubbed for 'Light of the seven' which is the most epic original soundtrack I have heard for a tv show.

Samurai, Shogun, Ninjas with Ramin's score couldn't ask for more..

Hence I bought it from Amazon Music the MINUTE season 2 westworld score came out.

Shogun World's Paint It Black sounds so right. It's all in the details!🌸😍

The scene when this score was played, gave me goosebumps.

The "paint it black" was my favorite scene (season 1) and to see this scene again in this way is just sooo AWESOME LOVE IT!!!

So... they took the best scene from season 1 and put some samurais in it. EPIC!

I had a big stupid grin on my face as soon as I heard the first few notes. Such a good composer this man is.

He went from middle eastern , to Native American to Western movie's scores in 5 min .. truly Amazing ..

This scene, I was laughing so hard at the TV, and when he says about having to reuse narratives I was laughing harder.

I've listened to at least a thousand versions of paint it black. and yet, all of them are masterpieces.

I've seen the original Bank Heist scene so many times that I recognized this right off. I died laughing long before that Japanese sheriff died to that giant toothpick of death

I was GEEKING when he asked him about the horse. Having watched s1 so many times it jumped out at me immediately. Somehow I missed the kids placing the bug on the guys head though... I completely failed to make the connection until he was asked about the horse.

Seriously, just seconds after they said "This seems familiar" I exactly thought the same thing, and thought what if they seriously doing the paint it black scene again but in Shogun world? And moments after they did it, my god that scene was amazing! Can't describe in words how much I love it!

So it's basically a cover of the first season's cover!!! Love it!!!

0:54, I stood up from excitement at that part realizing it was Paint it Black.

Love the sly in-joke that this track is. In the show, it is played at about the same time Clementine realizes that Lee Sizemore cut huge corners when creating Shogun World and many bits are basically a copy&paste from Westworld, with a bit of Japan tacked on. The track is the same - it starts like an Asian folk music adaptation of Paint It Black, but then becomes a copy of the one we already had in season one. Awesome.

Hiroyuki Sanada channeled Toshiro Mifune in that episode I had chills.

I just saw the 5th episode of season 2, and when I heard this playing, I just flailed maniacally. I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!!!! EVEN MORE THAN THE WESTWORLD VERSION!!!!! I'M NOT AFRAID TO SAY IT!!!!!!!!

Just goes to show a great song is a great song and this song has been represented perfectly...it has taken the original composition somewhere else 10/10

everything connected to old japan history is so interesting and cool, even those eras like edo, tokugawa regime, meiji sounds so exotic

Ramin Djwandi is possibly one of the best soundtrack composers alive right now. Every episode of this season is a testament to his musical talent.
