Westworld: Creating Westworld's Reality - Behind the Scenes of Season 3 Episode 6 | HBO

This and the scene where Halores killed Hector made me think a lot about how Ford programmed hosts with a specific core memory of losing a loved one such as Bernard/Arnold losing his son to make them feel more human. Now Hale and Maeve have actually lived these types of experiences in the real world so it'll be really interesting to see how it affects them throughout the next two episodes!

Yeah but maeve’s kid actually still alive and safe somewhere. So why don’t she just ask dolores to put in with her kid. I just don’t really understand why this dolores vs maeve plot even exist in this season. This plot are more fitting in season 2. It’s a bit stagnant making maeve as the opposite side of dolores but still having her with the same goal as season 2 : her kid. Well I guess the last episode show us another objective for maeve: revenge.
Now this was a ridiculously good episode. I got chills when William said "if you can't tell does it matter?" 🤩
@blueinblurr

what does he mean by that?
@saeedmohammadi3900
4 жыл бұрын
@@blueinblurr It refers to the past times when the young William first entered the Westworld park and was asked to choose a hat. He asked the lady, "Are you real?" And she answered, "If you cant tell, does it matter?" That's why in this episode, when Ed Harris says those words, the young version of himself sees him with surprise.
@VaurTek

@@blueinblurr As Saeed Mohammadi said, this is a call back to season 1 episode 2 when William first entered the park. It was the answer Angela gave him when he asked if she was real. But its also the answer to the question James Delos asked him. About whether or not William is just a passenger in his life or is he in control. Is William responsible for the death of his own daughter or not. In season 2 William rejected the idea that the forge knew who he was and what he would do, because it means he wouldn't be in control. That he doesn't have a choice. He began to question the nature of his reality and if he was a host or not. The answer he provide is that ... it doesn't matter. There is no way for him to know for sure if he has control or not. So struggling with this question is meaningless.

Tessa, Incredible this season. And all the MIB stuff had me pinching myself. Especially when all his persona’s started arguing with each other...I was like “this is amazing”. Was sad we didn’t get to see Dolores this episode...well Main Dolores. But the other stuff worked well. Maeve losing Hector...and then Chalores losing her family....wow heartbreaking. Dolores has some answering to do to these amazing women. Thandie and Tessa I mean.

I cannot thank enough Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy and the whole team of Westworld for delivering a great series. Hale was a boss this episode. Maeve now wants blood and I'm looking foward to it. I don't know which character to root for.

To be honest, I feel like Maeve has had the least emotional development and growth this season, her story line feels forced. Halores is absolutely outstanding, and I was not a fan of Tessa Thompson last season.
Tessa Thompson is an actress that’s ahead of her time. So happy the show is able to utilize her so well this season! The final scene of this episode and the expression on her burned/scarred face is devastatingly beautiful. Also, Vincent Cassel makes a GREAT villain for the season.
"There nothing stronger than a mothers love even if its a programmed mother's love" - ERW damn right it is queen iduna. cue theme: when the north wind meets the sea...
Give an award to that woman! Loving Tessa in this season, she's so good
The major critic I have for this episode and the series as a whole is: Those guards/mercenaries have a terrible aim, worse than stormtroopers! I know she's a robot, but I believe that even I, with no weapons training whatsoever, could at least hit one or two shots more at her than they could.

It's been bugging me since season 2. Such a shame to see something so ridiculously obvious happen so often in such an awesome show. This is the only thing keeping Westworld away from perfection in my opinion. But hey, no such thing as perfection, they say. :-)

Best episode of the season so far
Tessa is brilliant!! Character development amazing!!
when William says "i'm the good guy" i got goosebumps!
Love that they really expanded and challenged Tessa's role this season. It's a nice surprise since she's gotten a lot busier after Season 1, with MCU and other projects... Such a crime this season was delayed AND reduced to only 8 episodes, for some reason. Not a good omen considering something similar happened to Game of Thrones. As a reviewer said, would have been nice if an entire episode was dedicated to Serac's backstory, instead of being shared in Episode 5 but oh well, shortened season and all.
The story, the digital compositing, the make-up... I'm speechless. I so love WESTWORLD! 💜
Season 3 might be my favorite season so far

I agree that it's been incredible and doesn't at all feel forced or unnatural in any way unlike so many Holywood flicks these days that hamfistedly try to portray "girl power". These characters in addition to their absolute badassery also come with their own sets of flaws which make them feel more realistic and relatable. I honestly don't know who I should be rooting for and kind of want them all to succeed, even as they appear to be at odds.

I'm just glad they pivoted the show into the real world. That was a massive, risky choice and it has paid off. Then this Rehoboam plot and the delicious analogies to the hosts it allowed them to play with, simply amazing writing direction. They picked the perfect plot. This allowed them to create an amazing bad-guy in Serac, the best bad guys think they're the good guys, the saviors of the human race. Only thing I don't understand is why Jacob is in the story. People are saying he must be Serac's brother, reprogrammed, but he's way too young. Maybe to give the audience someone to sympathize with, also she needed him for the keycode thing. I think the season will end with everyone finding out that this is all a Rehoboam simulation and projection of what's about to happen, ending with Serac losing, resulting in Serac going apesh!t as he takes off the goggles and now has to deal with the breakout of Dolores into the real world, which will setup the actual confrontation in the real world for next season.

When Serac was talking to Halores in the board meetingroom and revealed he was using his tech in another room just made me laugh out loud and clap loudly for myself, such a Serac move.
Let's be honest too. If Hale told Serac she wouldn't have helped him he would have killed her family or her. He said that Charlotte wouldn't have checked on her kid, but she did make a video for him. Sad though that her family is dead now because of Dolores.
@danzafrir2900
4 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing, obviously the real Charlotte cared more about her kid than Serac realized, which makes me wonder how good Incite really is at profiling people's emotional depths. When Serac spoke of moments of true free will, I think there are more of those than even he realizes.
@necro_nancy
4 жыл бұрын
I think it's been slightly touched upon throughout this season that Incite doesn't / can't take into account people's capacity to change, especially for the better; an example of that would be it programmed the Lee Sizemore copy to believe that the reason he sacrificed himself is because he must have been in love with Maeve, because the program couldn't comprehend him behaving selflessly otherwise.
@ernestogvaldes6098
4 жыл бұрын
What Serac means is not that Hale doesn't care about her child, is that if she was the real Hale she would have put business first and be focused on finding the host. When real Hale made the video in the park she feared for her life, if it was real Hale now, looking for the host would just be business as usual, the fear of Haleores is what makes her contact her family instead of focusing on the task at hand

@aerynsunx
4 жыл бұрын
@KolTony Who says this was the work of Serac? If Serac wanted her dead, the explosion would've destroyed her. But Serac wanted Hale alive. Dolores is the one who told 'Charlores' that her "family" wasn't her real family. This had to be Dolores's work. Like destroying Hector, she wanted to teach Hale a lesson about who's in control, and where her loyalties should lie.
This was a phenomenal episode. Tessa Thompson is doing great work this season.
精彩! 黑尔的人格越发的完整, 期待下一集~
But Hale is not really her... why are you saying that this changes Hale’s character and it gives audiences a new perspective of her, when truly; this just speaks for how a part of DOLORES has changed and also explains more about the essence of the Hosts.
It's so sad that when Holores became more "human", it meant the end for the people that made her human.
