Karen Catizone oh, so it WAS the same peal after both occasions. (I have been racking my brains trying to figure out.) There was so much cheering after the wedding (naturally), and since I am hard of hearing, I couldn't hear the whole peal, just a couple of notes at a time. No, I wasn't there, I watched in on "telly" Yes I am an American Anglophile. Thanks to Diana. And then thirteen years later, the music of Sir David Willcocks and the Choir of King's College Cambridge. I can't fly (bloody ear canals hurt) but if I could, I would have visited England with my family for 1) both of the Royal weddings 2) and Diana's funeral, 3) and to see the KCC perform, 4) and to look at RVW's house.

Don't worry mate, I am a bell ringer myself and the more you learn to ring them, the easier it gets. But I ring in Great Amwell, Hertfordshire and the bells there are very easy. Bells at different towers are different sizes and some harder to ring than others. Just remember it is hard at first, but as it gets easier, it stays with you for life.

Fco Javier I am not fluent in Spanish but I recognized the word "recuerda". I say "I remember that" in several languages, because I like to comment "That reminds me of..."
They rang a peal of 2 Spliced, London Number 3 & Bristol Surprise Royal.

Paul NUFC Smith I thought it was Stedman Caters?
Fascinating! I'm amazed at how long the bells were rung. Three hours? Who were the ringers?
MERECEN UN APLAUSO Y UNA OVACIÓN, POR SER LAS MEJORES CAMPANAS ECLESIÁSTICAS DE EUROPA Y DEL MUNDO.
If you do a google search on "westminster abbey" carillon bells royal wedding you will find a good article posted....I could not attach it here.
@clochebell Oh yes. It was Royal Wedding. So ... everything was HIGH standard ;)
I think this was the same "belling" that was used in the movie robin hood.
Lots of practice. A full peal generally lasts over three hours.
Definitely rung by hand - all 5,000 blare (sequences) memorized, no repeats.

RampantFury925 That's why I am not in the handbell choir, because my arms get sore. Playing the organ is easier on my arms.
@eSharkuk Why would they have wheels if there was no rope?
Is there a link to this?
@barbara5706 no they dont. it is clled ringing a peal and nobody swaps a takes a break
Wish I could have seen them pull these ropes. Three hours is a long time for anyone to continue ringing these. They must have done it in shifts?
@rt18uk it's not stedman, the tenor's inside.
Is it me or do all 7, 8, 9 and 10th bells from a ten bell ring sound different to the front 6
Where did you get this video from? I would love to see the full length of it
@ajrawlinson1 I agree with you
Here's a very apPEALing peal: I composed this tune for organ, but it would sound good on bells too. I call it Here are the notes: E F E, E D, E F E, E F E
@eSharkuk Ten ringers.
@PhilNile Yap. It seems I know nothing ... :)
3, 2, 1, GOOD BYEEE!!!!!!

@tethyssea I don't think so that somebody was doing it for hours. it must be connected to ... something 'automatic'

Joona Mikkonen I mean looking into the bells. A fear of holes usually comes from not seeing the bottom and having them unevenly sized, and that's exactly what this looks like, only it moves too.

@EbClectic remarkably idiotic thing to say.
