Sorry, but I don't think what you said is completely right. Purple clay does have a long history, but in China, it's not really that expensive. Similar to ceramics, most items are actually quite affordable. I'd say the teacup in the video is probably around 60 yuan or so.

@@ChengAoyu The material IS expensive and what makes price vary from 60 to 12 million yuan in auction is the crafting arts or the authenticity of Yixing clay. Just trying to introduce a popular material for teapots bc the translator didn't serve the meaning of it. 😄

There are lots of videos about Zisha/Purple clay/Purple sand teapot on KZread. The price does vary depending on the variety of clay used, but generally speaking, they are one of the best teapots in China. It is a nice gift.
