Western dating culture is to be avoided by all who want a successful marriage. The pure Philippines dating culture is to be up held if you want a successful marriage.

Most Filipinas do like the idea of courtship and chivalry - a man showing them he cares and has their heart at interest. However, the practice of going through the parents to take a woman on a date has mostly disappeared from Filipino culture especially for women living in big cities and are dating online. No need for a parent’s consent there. Provincial dating is different yet lenient today. When dating a westerner a Filipina is more likely to date around his expectations, dropping the cultural norms once he has passed her test. Netflix and chill only works in the West. A westerner who has boots in the PH knows he needs to take her on a date but if he’s meeting Filipinas online most times he would have already proposed the idea for her going back to his hotel (if he’s on vacation) or his house (if he’s living there). A westerner looking to settle down and find a wife will respect her boundaries but if he’s not, then he won’t even waste his time on a date. America has eroded the fabric of cultural norms around the world and the PH love for all things American is slowly getting out of hand. 😢

It's true that chivalry and respecting omen all over the world is becoming a notion of the past. Dignity, honor, respect, mannerisms, seeing a women as special and to feel that the opposite sex finds you attractive and a worthy catch has almost been lost in this fasrmt paced world. As a foreigner that I modestly and humbly will state that I still honor old values from America or other civilized, modern countries. Most women find me attractive, fit ( for my age ) have a pleasant and realistic attitude about life and still have a optimistic outlook. I value a woman who is educated ( not necessarily book smart) in world news, is adventurous, respects others, who takes care of herself mentally, and is feminine. I won't overlook that I have a healthy libido and most certainly miss LOVE making and sex in general. It's true that there are a lot of natural beautiful women in the PI and I must say that you are very attractive. That's my take in short and I'll sign off for now.

Social media is a double-edged sword. It has fostered a new realm of how we communicate and get information, but it has also served as a platform for less desirable behaviors.....like narcissism.....and change the culture of dating in what is seen as a "relationship" now. My hope is people can see through these for what they are and not adopt it themselves. By continuing traditions in courtship and how we engage with people, we can keep society from completely going off the rails.

If you want to get away from the problems with Western dating then maybe don’t try to import that style. They say insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results. I like the idea of try a traditional approach from the culture of the woman you want to date.

Hi rubeauty. This was a great video. Comparing insights from two cultures. As an american that lives in southern leyte, married, we have a beautiful daughter named shealyn. My personal perspective on this topic first is be honest. Dont lie, fake, boast act superior because we are western. Many philipinas do get influenced about western culture due to social media, movies, blogs etc. Many westerners dont really know the culture here. So for me is always be honest, definately meet the family as I know thats important. Even in the usa I would do that. Be equal together. Make decisions together with no dominant person. Any culture can get along with honesty . Westerners can be domineering like they are in control. They have the money, the education etc. I treat my wife as an equal. My philippine friends as well. I'm no better than anyone else. For me I enjoy, respect the philippine culture and family. Each can learn from each other. You made good points in this video. Well done. Oh and your dress is beautiful on you.

Dear Rubeauti. When you talk about dating and freedom, you must be talking about the couple goes on a date. After the date the guy gets his freedom and yet another girl / woman becomes a single mother. I’ve never known a country to have so many singlemothers. In the west, when a guy becomes a father the Government steps in and hounds him for the next 20 years to make sure he financially looks after his kids. Your leaders should look at adopting a similar policy.

MMMMMM, a thought??? Rubeauti, are you just being, coy or Koi (the back drop...Ya that's the ticket) about the preferred style you want to be courted in? I don't know enough about Philippines dating...but I do know ALOT about western ways of dating... you might be lead to believe men are toxic if you listen to a large group of western women, but the truth is it's women that are toxic, delusional in their wants and willing to give everything up on a first date to the right guy, then be surprised when he leaves forever the next day... trust me when I say your ways of purity and chastity and waiting is far more valuable then what is happening in the west.... 75% of why I am moving to the east is because of how degenerative it has become.. the truth is I am 6' 4" 220lbs reasonably good looking and first hand experience the dating scene as a Chad so I am not complaining but I do feel for my many brothers out there that are hard working good men family men that aren't getting picked because they're not over 6 feet tall. And furthermore the delusional feminism running rampant through the west is in fact what's killing the west... peace iut.

There were a lot of drinkie bars back then. A lot of US servicemen found themselves getting married to local Filipino women during that time. One can almost say the same thing about US service men and Korean women from the late 60s to almost today. It’s been 20 years since I was in Korea. I’m sure that a lot has changed since then.

Thank you for keeping foreigners up to date on cultural changes or the merging of cultures. Just be advised that EVEN THOUGH you articulate a wishful bureaucratic approach - in REALITY Filipinos are more intrenched in their ways and only claim to being more flexible AND the reputation that too many Filipinas are scandalous and have alterior motives as in scamming the "rich" foreigners emotionally as well as financially. Even relatives that are nationals of the Philippines scam their own families there as well as new comers. I've been TOTALLY SCAMMED ( exploited as well as attempted extortion) by my wife's family. Unbeknownst to the relatives foreigners are smarter than given credit and or their primitive trickery is almost comical if not soo STUPID! With that being said, there are far too many foreign men who have the attitudes that just because most women of the Philippines are impoverished that they can take advantage of women in indecent ways. For instance Passport Bro's and the like. I can only speak for myself - I'm appalled by their behavior! They most certainly are rejected in the states! Anyway Rebeauti, keep up the good work.

I don't want to destroy Philippine culture. Just like the divorce Bill your senate passed. I hope they make it as difficult as possible. Maybe some counseling first, or whatever it takes to save the marriage. If the marriage still doesn't work, I believe there should be a way out of a marriage. That way you don't have to spend the rest of your life alone. Does that make sense to you Ruby?
