The phrase about following the money is indeed said by both Daniels and Freamon, but to me the interesting about it is how different the tone is between one and the other. Freamon is excited, Daniels sounded scared of the hornets nest he was about to kick. Also, the scene between Avon and the referee is possibly the most important in the whole show in terms of understanding his character.

There are God only knows how many more action packed police procedurals out there but the step by step process of detective work The Wire takes You through will always be my personal favourite. Loving Your reactions and takes to this show.

Youre one of the only people I've seen have a big reaction to Avon's finger wag moment lol. Loved it.

This episode shows why Avon is truly the king. He knows that a do-over would disrupt the natural flow of order within the game (not just basketball); and he chastises the ref because as a referee, you must have authority over the game, and by proposing a do-over, you’re relinquishing your authority and disrespecting the game. Avon does not respect anyone who cannot stand up for themselves, and you’ll come to see that theme throughout the course of the show. Great moment of who Avon really is too.

I have been loving The Wire reactions thus far. Being from B’More, I’m a lil biased. 😅 I do hope you continue the remainder of the series. It’s soooo good and gets better & better.

You should also do the mini series... The Corner. You'll love it I promise. It's pretty much like a prequel to the wire. Same West Baltimore area, same issues, except The Corner is more focused on the addicts point of view

Really enjoy your reaction but on this particular video it seems like the audio from The Wire clip is a little too low. Your audio seems fine, it's just The Wire part.

This show is mostly about metaphors but I suggest you don’t look for them. They usually come naturally after the 3rd watch 21:24 “You talking about a do-over” says Avon while the camera pans to D’Angelo. Dee knows he was born into this life and there’s no way he can escape and put time back on the clock.

I am so sorry Jan, for placing judgement on you. You understand a lot more than most people. Your catching on to the flow of the show. But you might find relief at times, But there are no rainbows and long happiness in this life in the inner cities. But keep Going, excuse my language, but I'm really starting to F@#k with you keep going.😊

The basketball games was all about money almost everything that happens in the game is for some kind of monetary gain or a personal benefit rarely never for the love of humanity

I think this was the episode I realized "Oh shit, this is like the last episode of M.A.S.H., but every episode" or some other silly parallel that made sense at the time. It's over the top but at the same time you really start to recognize that the writers have a plan and it's a good plan. P.S: I hope your Thanksgiving cooking stream turned out o.k. in the end. Mine was great! KUTGW.
