Tears in eyes, I'm 65, West Ham were my team from 1970 onwards, glory years....the 70's, for both football and music!!!! Brian Clough and Bill Shankly are also awesome.

Was in the North Bank that day as a stary eyed 16 year old . Saw the Frank Lampard goal all the way . Just wondering how much would Trevor Brooking be worth in todays money ?

My main memory from this game is dropping 6 points of lager I was carrying back to me mates on the south bank when the third goal went in.

@@Keithbarber I remember him coming from Leyton in the first place and being pretty good to begin with. After that we set the record (half a million) for buying a keeper. Phil Parkes from QPR who was brilliant. They replaced the brilliant Bobby Ferguson who was the nearest thing to a foreign player, he played for Scotland originally there was Jim standen (?) Who I don't think I actually saw. I didn't know Merv the swerve went back to orient but glad he was a local lad. The first dodgy haircut for hammers I remember.

Kenny Hibbit was a great player...surely he deserved an England cap but it was never to be. John Richards did play for England but only the once...shame.
