I've had this generator for about 3 years now with no issues. It has hundreds of hours on it.

Use the “Fuel Off” feature to drain the carburetor completely out of gas and you will not have to worry about damaging the carburetor. Or run the tank complete out of gas if not used for an extended period of time.

Yes that seems to make sense, I suppose it depends how people use their generator such as a job site use constantly, power outages, recreational camping, etc. but yeah most carb issues seem to come from leaving gas in there over a long period of time. Thanks for watching!

When you run it out of fuel or use the fuel shut off, there is still fuel in the bowl of the carburetor

Thinking about buying this in advance of hurricane season. Is a break in required?

Break in is probably not required however I prefer to for about 20 hours with conventional oil before switching to full synthetic and then also ramping up the load on the motor in that time to seat the rings properly is my personal preference. Hope this helps thanks for watching!

Good Review I'm looking to purchase a 2350 looks to meet my needs. I've been checking everywhere on the internet to find a picture of the exhaust side of the 2350 with the cover off I've found the WEN 2000 and the nut to the driveshaft looks to be accessible just want to verify before I purchase the unit Could you do me a favor? Remove panel covering the muffler. Is the nut to the generator/driveshaft exposed? I am trying to find a generator with the Driveshaft nut exposed. I would like to start the unit using a drill, I have bad shoulders and need a small generator with electic $tart without breaking the bank. Thanks - Off GRID RVer

Hey yeah I popped the cover off quick unfortunately it doesn’t look like the crankshaft bolt is accessible, there’s two bolts for mounting the exhaust on. How about grounding the generator when using? Do you run a cable and stake it into the ground? I've seen a few of these generators that some say you should. What are your thoughts? Thanks.

So far I haven’t had any issues running mine while ice fishing and camping without grounding. I’m also running relatively lower power with it like electronics and a camper furnace, maybe for higher amperage you’d want to ground like a RV air conditioner

What is the deal with twisting the gas cap when you turned it off? Does it need to be in a certain position?

Hey yeah there is a gas cap vent on the gas cap itself, you can turn it on or off with a lever style switch on top. It helps for vacuum draw when it’s running with the carburetor taking in fuel as well as in storage for relieving tank pressure. Thanks for watching!

Indeed. It let's air in while running, and keeps fumes in while storing.

Only run ethanol free gas in small engines.

I would agree ethanol is not a friend to small engines usually haha
