He is a really humble guy. The media is the problem. If he can meet those expectations, I'm happy for him. But, the media also expects too much from him, d-riding and stuff, claiming he'll be the GOAT even before he played a single NBA game. I really hope he does really well in the NBA.

@@pradeepmalar327 Indeed! I am rooting for him. I hope he will not be blinded by the money, attention, and fame he is experiencing right now. Let his work ethic, achievements, and accolades speak about him. It's not bad to invest in self-confidence, but claiming that he is the best in the world, or as I said, like in only 3 months he will be like this or that, or I'm good in the West and like are all cocky and pompous things. He has a big chance in ROY and DPOY if he continues doing what he has done so far...

@@BruceHachikoMingay23 I agree. He's actually someone we've never seen before, no doubt about it. But that's what makes it a huge gamble. If his work ethic continues to be like it is now, or better, he'll be a huge asset for any team he's in, probably the number 1 option in any team. We'll see how things turn out. Either way, I am rooting for him.

This was my first Warriors and NBA game I saw in-person in my life. I've been a fan of the Warriors since 2013 (yeah I'm young). No joke, the stadium lit up when Wemby was introduced and when he dunked on us. Sure it was "just a preseason" game, but not only was it my first in-person NBA game, but he earned the respect of Warriors fans that night. After we lost all I could do was tip my hat, no hate, just pure respect for Wemby and Coach Pop.

I can't wait until he becomes a 50% 3 point shooter! HOW do you block a 7'4" shooting a 3? It will just be a relaxed practice shot! Where Brandon Ingram is a 6'10" Kevin Durant, Wemby is a 7'4" Kevin Durant. Once he learns to manage keeping his balance while giving up ground, he'll just let everyone bully him under the basket and then Block them. I fully expect him to overtake Anthony Davis and Antentenkoupo in blocks. And I hope he's one of the leaders in 3's. That 3 position, the Butler, James, Durant, Kawai Leonard spot. That's Wemby. I think even the unicorn in Denver was more like a 3 position on offense, as well as Antentenkoupo. The only exception winning the finals was Steph Curry. San Antonio's gonna win some rings in the near future!

I will always say it was a conspiracy for Wemby to go to San Antonio. Absolute best case scenario for Wemby's development. 2nd best is probably Golden State. lol. Maybe 3rd best case, Miami? But Miami went too high in the playoffs, so conspiracy theorists would go nuts. I still can't believe the general public isn't thinking conspiracy theory. Steph was thinking how the NBA didn't conspire for Golden State to land with Wemby. How did Detroit, Houston, or Charlotte not land Wemby? Hwell, Because! It was obviously a conspiracy. Not that I'm complaining. I'm super happy Wemby went to San Antonio. But I will always believe the NBA conspired it. All the planets would have to align again impossibly.

I wouldn't say Alan Iverson, but more like Kevin Durant or Luca Doncic. Iverson could just slash right through everyone as if they were in slow motion. Wemby has a different game. A more cerebral and methodical game. Like Luca, who can't slash that fast. I think Wemby will be more like our current champ, Nikola Jokic or Antentenkounpo. He'll drive somewhat to the free throw line, get stopped by the wall of defenders, then dump the ball over helpless flailing hands to the open man. 😂 ...or just decide to take a practice shot that no one can block.

Thank god he didn't land in Philly like poor Embiid. Like some analysts, I think when Embiid becomes a free agent, he will jump ship and sign with another team if he isn't traded. I feel sorry for anyone who falls into the "process" in Philly. Lose and try to get the #1 pick every year until you draft the Chaimberlan, Barkley, Iverson, Embiid and Simmons... I truly loathe the Philly organization by far the most. But I will say for the rest of my life, that the NBA conspired to get Wenby drafted to San Antonio. That is too good to be true. Best case scenario for Wemby's development. That never happens. Even though it turns out to be true that the NBA conspired, I'm not complaining. I'm super happy Wemby landed in the best case scenario for his development. I will always say something smells fishy.

If he continues to be humble while proving himself in the league then i swear he will be unstoppable. He jumped against Curry in jumpball out of respect. Blocking is his best asset ngl because thats the opposite team needs to figure out. As in as a whole team, yes his offense is already there but defensively if he stablished that one is going to be tough. Teams need to make an adjustment how to score in perimeter not like before. So basically. When he is guarding you don't hesitate. Once you did that, it's going to be hard for you to focus on the attempt. Easier said than done.

He might be 19, but he has years playing in the euro pro league and has been press interviewing and dreaming of playing in the NBA. He isn't a diamond in the rough. He's polished and experienced beyond his age. I'm sure he's been coached and mock interviewed a hundred times on how to answer press questions. I'm absolutely sure LeBron James was also coached, because at 19, he was a wise man a hundred years beyond his age. And Wemby might learn from James' spoken mistakes and fare better in terms of PR. I'm so sure Tony Parker had so many sessions with Wemby. Parker is somehow (I don't know) related to the french pro league team Wemby played for... so expect Wemby to adjust quickly and become more of a problem for the other team. I'll be so dissappointed if San Antonio doesn't make crazy trades before the Feb deadline. In San Antonio, IT'S ON!!!!!

Antentenkoumpo preferrs to be a power forward. Wemby will hang out with the likes of James, Kawai Leonard, Butler, Durant, and most recently, Luka Doncic, in the super critical small forward position (for winning championships). I'm sure San Antonio will take great care in how they utilize Wemby. I can even imagine pick and roll and Wemby dumps off to an ally oop to the open man who had to switch off to stop Wemby. (Remember how Splitter killed everyone to get San Antonio's championship? He just dunked garbage from Tim Duncan, Genobli and Parker. lol One day, we'll be quoting San Antonio's current no talent center who killed everyone in the playoffs.)

Aww, to be fair, I feel sorry for Zion. He hasn't even been healthy yet. This might be his break out season. With Ingram and McCollum, they might be a terror in the playoffs. I have a soft heart for small market teams. No one at 6'6" can jump with a 7 footer and tip the ball, then immediately jump just as high again and get the rebound like Zion. He's an alien freak. I think he is too strong for his joints. He keeps getting ankle and knee injuries because of his alien strength. I really hope he plays healthy for 10 seasons in a row. That would be such a treat. He's Charles Barkley sized, but with alien strength and athleticism, and none of Sir Charles's shenanigans. Sir Zion is classy. Don't diss him. He's been a class act.

So, all summer long, we, the Warriors fans screamed "get a big man". Howard walks through the Warriors hands and the new GM, who shall remain unnamed, says "we don't need a big man". Then the Spurs game...

  • @virtualawakening2299

    @virtualawakening2299

but but but a big man won't ever match up against Wemby. Wemby's a small forward! He'll spin a real big man in circles like how Steph does to anyone who tries to defend him! A center will never try to match up with Wemby! Also, I personally think it was wise and prudent for the GM to pass on Howard. Howard is much like Harden... Only the most desperate from now on will want them.

If he shoots 50% in threes, leads the league in blocking, he'll win Rookie of the Year. I'll wait until he's at least 23 before he utterly dominates over the likes of Embiid, Antetokounmpo, Jokic, James, Leonard, Butler, etc... The league is so loaded, you have to have a perfect and healthy season... Just the slightest setback will end it. I can see him absolutely ruining the 3 point shot to the point every common person not even a diehard NBA fan will be calling for the abolishment of the 3 point shot, or for it to be reduced to 2.5 points... The 3 point shot is so OP it is the game breaking exploit in every MMO. (just thought of something crazy... If Wemby masters Abdul-Jabbar's sky hook!!! OMG OMG OMG!!!)

Like there's still James, Durant, Morant, Antetokounmpo, Lillard, Curry, Leonard, Butler, Doncic, Booker, Tatum, Embiid, Jokic, ... All these clutch non-chokers... Wemby has yet to prove his mettle, but there's always room for more.

I'm super excited about him and want talent to thrive! But still, he has to outdo Nicola Unicorn in passing and IQ, and outdo Luca in tenacity and IQ, and to be the best, you have to win the Finals... San Antonio has to do a lot to build a team around him before he can be the best. It will be exciting to see in the next couple of years how it all develops! He could be the Dirk Nowitzki and Kevin Durant combined in a 7'4" body! Unblockable 3's and incredible ball handling and passing skills... I'm so ecstatic!

That's not gonna prevent Wemby from blocking them easily. lol This guy can swipe the ball just before it hits the backboard on a layup when the ball is thrown Waay up there! His reach lowers my IQ significantly for at least 30 seconds! This guy folds gravity and creates a wormhole! I seriously believe he can dunk without one of his feet even leaving the hardwood! Antetokounmpo can grab the rim without jumping, but I think Wemby can dunk without jumping. I just want to see Wemby get 50% on 3's and master the Sky Hook! I so want to see Wemby doing the sky hook!

Then he looked down running back on defense, thinking he couldn't unleash level 2 for fear of dying! I hadn't seen such a look of defeat in him like that. It's the look of realizing he and his team got too old to keep up with the youth in the league. I feel so bad for Golden State, but age is a reality, and it's in super speed in pro sports. How many old age hall of famer teams were assembled and didn't win the Finals? Too many. The youth just tramples over the has-beens, and it's painful to watch. (like when unknown Chauncy Billups just exploited Gary Payton like Payton didn't even belong in the G league? I am a hater of super teams, so I was cheering against the Lakers, but even if they had Karl Malone, I don't think they could have won.) Remember when Charles Barkley became a Rocket with Kenny Smith and Hakeem, and Drexler(I think?). Old has beens that can't keep up with the youth. I detest super teams. I'm so glad Brooklyn couldn't do it with Harden, Durant and Irving. I was also so glad the GS super team with Boogie Cousins, Kevin Durant, Clay, Steph and Drey didn't win the Finals. I didn't cheer for their injuries, but I detest superteams. I mean 5 future hall of famers on the starting lineup! Absolutely disgusting! I love parity!
