Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Fuel tank selector valves for older Fords* and GMs have been discontinued for a quite a while now. If yours fails, you'll probably need to install a new universal design. In this video we talk about our FSV2K fuel selector valve kit and what it takes to install it.

You should probably say the filter needs to be between the tank and the selector valve. Older Chevrolets have a mechanical fuel pump on the block pulling the fuel through the valve from the tank.

I have a 1947 Chevy truck . the truck gets about 7 mpg. I have a stock fuel tank but added a 5 gallon fuel cell in the back. I want to add the fuel switch to go between the two tanks for longer trips. lets see if I can figure this out

Thx for he video. I think in my case a 1990 F-150. It will be easier but more expensive replacing the fuel tank reservoir switch assembly. If I can't locate part from wrecker I'll just have to shell out $200+ for a genuine replacement part.

Every time I put gas in my rear tank, my front tank gets full. Right now, my front tank is so full it's leaking out. This culprit has to be my problem.

After hours of troubleshooting and being stranded overnight in my 86 f250 6.9 idi dual tank I found that this was the culprit. My question is I completely disassembled the oem part and found the motor to be bad. I noticed though that when I rotated the stud that when the back tank was in use it was only drawing from the back tank however when in postion for the front tank it also left the port for the back tank open. Is that normal or a flaw in the old unit? I have ordered this exact part and am very confident with the help of this video and knowledge of electrical to install on my own. But it would seem to me if this part did the exact think when running on the front tank my return line would be also be robbing from the front and filling the rear. Any thoughts or insight on this?

Matt, that doesn't seem normal. I don't believe these are intended to cross fill tanks. Mike Becker, Senior Technical Instructor

Why won't the factory selector switch work? I have a 93 f350 7.3 IDI. The front tank worked fine then when I switch to rear tank it instantly blew a fuse. I guess I'll be wiring in the included switch. Just curious why this won't work with the oem switch?

Hey the video did help but I have one question my vehicle has two 20gal tanks on either side of the vehicle both of them run to the same pump would this at all change the installation (neither tank is labeled as auxiliary or main or any other indication) and after I've hooked up the new valve the universal one looks just like the stock one that's on it... I'm gonna have to label the switch because I'm gonna forget which switch position goes to which tank so how would I tell... 1985 Chevrolet C10

Hey Frank, sounds like you'll either have to trace the wires or fill one tank up, leave the other empty to determine which is which on the switch. Mike Becker, Senior Technical Instructor

Ok I kinda figured and also I did more looking and the wire that comes out of slot a on the pigtail is going to the tank on the left it's still bent into shape but it isn't attached and I haven't yet figured out a way to reattach it to the gage sending unit without removing something else which is probably why the tank switch isn't working

For those that have the valve still, if you fed the positive line to the return of the front tank with a little pump, no selector valve needed. All you do is you put a bolt in the fuel line for the rear positive line & that’s it. So if you want fuel in the front tank you hit a button or switch, & flit it off when full. Problem solved. A video will be available on MikeJD60 soon.

not one wire is the color you describe, very poor instructions and after spending a fortune in extra parts, should just buy fords overpriced selector valve as it would have been cheaper and no frustration, looses
