Same problem. I have replaced same capacitor now iron works well. Even old capacitor measured 2.2uF anyway I replaced it. Maybe it is from Plage capacitor time as my soldering station is from 2007. Thanks a lot.

Hi, my also same problem, but not at all much used, i need to check, i was thinking iron problem, but after seeing u video capacitor problem was, so i will check and message you, by the mean time can you send the resistance of the heater element and ßensor resistance inside the iron

Saw many of the sew51 same problem, any how all could fix the problem with a 1 capacitor

i don't got it, the value of old capacitor was same as replacement cap, to reading on Multimeter screen between 4-5 voltages , and you don't used ESR meter, so how do you know about that cap was bad?

good video thank you.earlier the voltage reading 4.83v but now also,after changing capacitor same reading arounf 5 volts .how problem solved by changing capacitor

Hi, i got same case like you with my wesd51, if ok i want to ask about capacitor 2,2 Mf that you mention stand for mili farad, micro farad or mega farad, because at video says Mf (with capital M), thanks

Thanks for your respon, my wesd51 works again, for temporary fix i use 2,2 uf 100v and i will order replacement part tomorow, thanks for sharing 😀

Lo que hace no soluciona el problema, sigue igual no regula y esta siempre al máximo de temperatura, la solución es algo sencilla siempre y cuando se trate del mismo caso que el mío

En mi caso yo tenia un cautin weller wes51 y estaba trabajando bien cuando de pronto veo que el led esta rojo, y me dedique a buscar una solución y no la encontré en ese momento, entonces compre otro de medio uso, y trabajo exelente con mi lápiz anterior (osea el lápiz no es el problema tampoco) trabajo como 6-7 meses y le pasó lo mismo quedo el led rojo
