Hey Defyn, thanks for the video! French main here (French pain?) - I use the AS-30L extensively, including in air to air, here's how I set it up for quick engagements, including heads-on: - Bind Shift-F to Air to Ground Lock AND Sight Stabilization - When trying to lock a ground or air target, you can spam this control in Third Person View to either lock it, or set it up in the general direction, and THEN go into the camera sight if needed This works quick enough for fly bys and heads on (on the Jaguar rather, as the Mirage is as fast as the missile itself, so it doesn't work well) I hope this helps you get more kills if you ever fly this one again :p (in Ground RB, it's pretty good!)

The Mirage 2000D-R2 just went (2017-19) thru an 'MV' mid life upgrade. As a result of which, it can now carry the 30mm ADEN CC422 cannon pod with 250rds under the left forward fuselage station and the CC630 twin cannon pod with 500rds on the centerline. As well as up to X6 MICA IR (Magic 2 has been retired _for decades_ in the AdA). The Mirage 2000 RMV also has access to probably the best IAM in the world right now: the SBU-38/54/64 Hammer. Also known as the AASM. Which it can carry up to X8 with single parenting under the fuselage shoulders and midwings and X2 on an ALKAN Type 4036 twin store carrier, under the centerline. While the Mirage 2000D doesn't have a great A2A radar, it's Antelope 5 has pretty decent ground mapping capabilities and the Damocles FLIR is also okay. Note: the PDLCT is from back in the early 2000s and is extremely dated now while the 'new hotness' is the Talios with AR or Augmented Rreality imaging. Basically, the way the French see their systems working is that they get a Link-16 Datalink call for support or a quick reaction tasking on a TCT as Time Critical Target. They fly to the general area of the supplied GPS coordinates and illuminate with radar or unmask the pod. The Weapons System Officer slews the radar or FLIR field of view marker over the relevant area of digital map and sees a virtual thermal or radar imagery view, scaled to match the natural and man-made features like roads etc. Kind've like the location finder on Google, the use of GPS coordinates and high density digital map features makes sure the WSO is looking at the precise point of interest, with no errors and limited emission by the radar to give away his presence. Depending on the target:sensor match, the prepointed radar or targeting pod footprint areas then either establish a GMTT target track on whatever is 'passing through'. Or locks onto another designator's laser pointer. Or alternately, establishes an optical 'synthetic target field' with available in-view contrast aimpoints matched to the digital map relief. If troops in contact call for it, the WSO can also use ROVER to pass targeting pod video to them for 'but are you really sure?' confirmation. The WSO can then designate individual target contrasts as weapon aimpoints or use all of them to designate a low contrast offset aimpoint (hidden bunker exit, camouflaged vehicle etc.). The more aimpoint contrasts in the field of view, the more accurate the weapon will be in continuously measured milliradian angular deviations from each other. These chosen aimpoints are then transferred from the aircraft ULISS 52P twin gyro INS/GPS memory to the AASM (Armement Air-Sol Modulaire) bomb target tracker as designated mean points of impact. The bomb is dropped and flies out on an INS/GPS trajectory to a late midcourse, 'Eyes Open', point where it's IIR seeker looks at the target field of view and, from the optical contrasts, chooses it's impact point and dives on it. Or, if the target is moving, it looks for the movement rate and image contrast shape (length/width/engine point, wheel counts) of the target itself. The important thing here is that the bombs can be dropped within seconds and a few feet of each other because there is no designator obscuration or target shift lag as with SAL weapons, when closely spaced bombs blow up. Since they are each tracking several offset aimpoints in their target memory to 'kill the DMPI in the middle' (usually several such FOV contrasts are visible, even if the primary is masked by explosion bubble of previous bomb detonations). The INS/GPS midcourse again allows up to eight bombs to be dropped from one Mirage 2000D-RMV in a single pass, from a 90` off boresight launch, meaning the bombs don't require alignment with laser designation basket like Paveway II and the aircraft doesn't have to directly approach the surface target. As an added bonus, the AASM/Hammer comes with a rocket booster which allows them to be lofted up to 9nm from a low level release and 32nm at high altitude. Again keeping the Mirage 2000 RMV at maximum stand off from the target zone. AASM is essentially a combination of the best parts of JDAM, Maverick-D and a cruise missile in that the weapon will Lock On After Launch and track targets it cannot see, at launch while having the powered kinematics to remain safely distant from target defenses. I think it would be nice to have a new video on the Mirage 2000C in the current meta. In the right hands it is still capable I think. Also, its breakout speed was buffed about 2 weeks ago, it can go up to 1500kmh+ at low altitudes (broke at ~1530 km/h I think, if i'm correct it was 1300km/h+ before, so a nice buff ! ), and today its acceleration has been buffed at all altitudes. Only the Magic 2 and 530D need to be buffed and it would be really good !

My best ARB match in this thing was 6 kills with a 1v2 at the end. I didn't even bring the AS-30Ls, all of my kills were with Magic 2s lol. But yeah since my K/D is more than 5 in this thing, it's clearly better than the F-14, F-16, and MiG-29. They need to add 12.0 just for this jet.

Sounds like a nice plane for Defyn to fly and swear about. :D It works unexpectedly well in ground RB. Just head on everything and everyone and sneak up on people. Guess I never got 30+ kills this quick in any other plane I spaded. This thing shouldn't work at all. Weird.

@@WatchMysh I was strafing an AA in GRB as I have done with it before. I never felt this thing compress a single but so I figured it flew pretty well at high speeds. All of a sudden I went just that bit too fast and steeply down. Once the compression started it literally had 0 pull. I think I've seen a BV238 diving pulled harder then it

I've been watching your videos, and it's pretty impressive what you can do. But man I have to tell you, I am at my wits end with trying to learn how to fly in this game lol. I either have a team that rushes in and completely demolishes everyone within 3 minutes, or they go to ground pound and i'm left to try and fight multiple planes at once. I'm not sure how it was years ago, but this is really painful. It's unfortunate because I like the idea of the game, but i'm not sure if it's for me

I put a talisman on the mirage IIIE, Grinded out the mirage 2000, before they put it up to rank 7. I am having lots of fun with IIIE, I'd recommend taking it out for a few matches if you have it. I'm not the greatest player, but I can get 3-4 kill games pretty consistently.

Did the same. Very good plane at 10.3. The radar R530 is good for the early game high altitude fight, and the Magics just work. Chaffs and decent FM make it rather survivable.
