Result 👍 It's unlikely that your voice is stored anywhere as a 'default', or 'available option' as part of the software itself. Most likely, as I said earlier, the person that was hired used the Simplify My Voice web service, uploaded a couple of minutes of you speaking to train the AI, checked all the boxes claiming ownership of your voice (or permission to use it) and then generated the audio from a script. So no, while I doubt it exists as a default option, it's easy enough to use that said editor, or anybody, could reproduce it with ease. In fact, if I wasn't about to head for bed, I could probably do the whole thing (train the AI, write a script, export the audio, edit it into a video and upload it to KZread) in under an hour - starting from scratch. The thing that would take more time, would be putting together the video it would soundtrack for.

Hey! I know a little about AI, I've been following along with it the last while very closely. I don't think your voice is a default in any of the models per se, but a clone of it could easily be created from the models. The voice models out there, many of which are free and open weight, can take a sample of an individuals voice and create a clone from it. The audio sample can be as short as 30 seconds, but longer samples of higher quality lead to a closer copy. Since you have been uploading lots of videos here on your channel that have superb audio quality, even a small open weighted model that performs terribly would be able to take your voice audio from all of your KZread videos and generate a very good quality voice clone. Anyone could run that type of model on any laptop, and there's tons of websites that let users create voice reproductions from samples. There isn't any way to stop the models themselves from being used by people with bad intent. They're easily shared and can be run on any home computer. One thing you can do however is use your reach to advocate for platforms like KZread and other social media websites to create better AI tools that can catch those people with ill intent from stealing your likeness for profit or misuse.

i feel as if that anyone who has made some kind of mark on youtube, especially with voice over, I think that anyone can then take one's voice and then apply it into this ai text to speech software. I mean, they've done with the likes of joe rogan, mr. beast, etc. I think perhaps you could probably look into that, see how they do that and why some folks incorporate certain voices such as yours and without your permission no less. I mean I assume, they do it without permission, which in that case, seems unethical.

Was about to comment this. But yeah that’s how they’re doing it. At the end of the day to use someone’s intellectual property or their image you must obtain their consent. In this case neither happened.

I mean, someone COULD have took your voice and created a model template from it and has shared that model around yeah. Already the issues with AI are starting to show. :| I must say though, you had the best voice-over voice for the crime documentaries on JCS.

Hey man, I actually got into voice acting after watching some of your old crime videos, and I know the AI thing is a big headache in the community right now, but if you're able to figure out where it's coming from you can absolutely take legal action against the perpetrator. Maybe the guy can point you towards his editor and you can get some answers

Because your voice is iconic in the true crime/crim psych KZread scene someone has definitely fed your voice clips to an AI. I'm pretty sure some of the most recent JCS videos have done this as the narration sounds kinda uncanny and unlike the earlier JCS videos.

It almost seems too convenient at this point.. A new channel with only two videos gets called out for using AI-gen of your voice; they comment an apology and take the videos down right away; now the channel is just suddenly gone altogether.. The chain of events feels like they got caught and cut their losses. Hopefully any future attempts made by anyone are given second thought due to the swift action taken against this one. The unfortunate downside to being the pioneer voice in an entire genre and with technology rapidly out-pacing us.

Who knows, your voice could be a default on some program, but that's neither here nor there as it's trivial to clone someone's voice, especially when there's so much good quality audio to sample from. I messed with that stuff for fun and memes almost a year ago, and the training was as easy as just dumping the raw audio files to the site. I imagine today the models would be much better. I also highly doubt a jcs competitor wouldn't be intimately familiar with your voice. It's just an excuse not to get shamed further.

I use an ai tool that lets you copy anyones voice and you can publish the clones and make them public. I'll link it tomorrow.

The fact it was a crime video makes it seem likely the editor cloned your voice specifically rather than picking it from a list. Funny that it went so fast from Scarlett Johansson to small youtubers...

@@kizzume if they let you know it is easily available somewhere that would be very interesting. One way or another we're not far from being able to tell an AI "find a voice popular in crime vids, download a sample and feed it to a voice generator".

You are probably understanding why I hate AI, if you didn't already. There probably is your voice out there somewhere, and if not, there probably will be due to the desirability of yours for a lot of types of content. There are no laws currently that exist to protect AI replication despite the fact it's the most apparent exploitation I've seen in awhile, but there might be some landmark cases in the coming years to set the stage.

Im not aware of the incident you are referring to but I thought for a long time that the AI generated voice was you. Specifically on the YT channel Warthog defense. It’s all videos of the Ukraine war. I actually left a few comments on your videos because I thought it was you. I eventually thought maybe you think I’m just a weirdo because I was being vague. But I realized it was AI. There’s quite a few channels that use your voice even some ads use it. I’ve left comments on videos making others aware that Kizzume is the AI voice on the video. Wahahahaha. I’m not sure what if anything you can do but I expect you will do your due diligence. I had to edit this and add that you speak very good Ukraine and Russian language in the warthog defense videos you say quite a few names of Ukraine cities in perfect Ukrainian Or Russian. All of warthog defense videos is your AI voice.

Sorry, Kizzume, but I missed this controversy. I can't be everywhere always! But I'm glad it's resolved, glad he did the "stand up" thing, and don't put much past the eager beavers of AI. They don't have a great track record of permissions and informed consent. You can stop reading now, but I'm going to append this anyway.
