He is not such a fan of the whole TMNT universe, just a few tmnt products that some companies are giving him to review, but Dan is always with the MOTU things... He is now on a different way for action figures hobby. Let's give another people the views and attention. Mad Hatter is always checking TMNT in every single line, he deserves better consideration.

​@@jamespaul6315 I dislike Pixel cuz he can't do honest Masterverse reviews detailing all the QC issues. But the one who is the most annoying one is Shartimus "frustrated rockstar" Prime. I recently discovered Mad Hatter and he seems to be very unique, humble and passionate!

I love the IDW comics. In my opinion some of the best TMNT storytelling ever. However I only read until issue 100 just because I was running out of shelf space. And I'm knee-deep in completing my X-Men collection.

Apparently the exclusive part of these is the dark wash. Loyal Subects also has an exclusive Raph with motorcycle, but the exclusive part of that set is the motorcycle is gold (a walmart set is coming with a red cycle). And a Leo with a blue cycle.

Love the IDW art design, i think with a re-paint these figs would be really rad

These are bad ass! Really really love these more than I thought I would! My 9 year old said its his fav set out of all of the Neca ones ect so they pass the eye test on display! Im really hoping the Mezco ones are super bad ass and there will be a nice variety of sets on a shelf. Will be very cool I think displaying all these different sets together

I never read the IDW run (wasn't a fan of their Transformers or GI Joe stuff I picked up, and a few years later I heard they were playing mommy daddy with Transformers . . . yeah . . . Then I got a few comics with some Transformers I bought. They were nice, but I wouldn't have bought them on their own), but these look really cool. The non-SDCC version of Mikey's color looks a little more subdued from photos I've seen, so you might want to check that out. You lose the paint wash, but I think I might pick up a set of the non-SDCC versions, based on your video, if they're still available after I recover from paying bills.

I wanted NECA to do santalouco tmnt so bad for years. His designs are incredible. These are okay. But nothing like NECA.

I've never seen hands like Leo's. I really like the way they did that

Not that I am complaining, but how many toy companies have licenses to produce TMNT figures? Sure, there are a lot of versions (comics, multiple cartoon series, multiple film series), but there are a lot of toy companies paying a lot of fees to make a lot of turtles. I mean, it's cool, but no one thinks the market is saturated yet?

The leak list for what bst axn idw characters are coming is very tantalizing. They seem to be going for some deep pulls. I have a normal set of these on preorder and I can put a wash on them myself for $8 each.

i hope bst axn does the city fall dark leo. looks like they could build it off this sculpt for sure

I’ve been praising the bst axn line, the first turtles were not great, but the street style punk turtles were great. I managed to get all the chase versions. (Review on my channel) the beetle juice is also good, AND has a neck;)

I never liked the previous Loyal subjects TMNT stuff but this one is cool and I hope they make more school stuff like this to compete with Neca and S7

Have the white/black variant with the non-wash set pre-ordered! Gorgeous figures. Maybe one day I'll pick up the SDCC. Saw too many bad paint applications on videos.

Ever since I saw promos for these I've been excited for them to release but also hoping they didn't disappoint. I remember the bad vibes you were getting from their booth last comic con 😂😂😂 but they seem to want to redeem themselves. I got their casey jones which is pretty rough figure wise but dam I love that he has eastman on his hockey stick and a laird shoulder pad. I love the IDW comics and I'm all in on this line, these turtles show enough promise on where BST AXN is heading. Im waiting for the non washed versions, they seem brighter and more color accurate and i can add a wash if i want to them. Also love that they come with trading cards as I try to have my figures displayed with them.

I can’t wait to get this set in… I might do a repaint on Mikey to tone him down… nice review.

I didn’t go in on the mirage pk because of the bright ass lime green. The color pallet of these is pretty much all I like.

The regular versions are essentially the same, with no wash, $22 each. My biggest complaint aside from things you mentioned as someone who has other BST AXN is that these are bigger and likely won't go well with other BST AXN or even the (nice looking) BST AXN IDW Shredder that's coming up, because the earlier turtles were too big and these are bigger. I suggest you keep an eye out for BST AXN Super Shredder and toy colors Krang. Those may work as placeholders on a Super7 shelf, being 8 inches tall. The Krang is on the existing android Krang body which has the most hideous articulation gaps I've ever seen -- but if you keep that in mind and don't pose him too much, he should fit nicely with Super7. Remember that a Super7 Android Krang would probably have almost no range in its articulation and just avoid posing BST AXN Krang any more than you think the Super7 version WOULD pose.

I think this is the second or third review I've seen of this style turtle where Leonardo's scabbard broke.

There are 3 versions of these. The Grey versions, The Battle Ready version which is what you have and there is a regular version and with the regular, Michaelangelo is not as turquoise looking as the battle ready version. I wish they made Jenika as well. But I absolutely love the IDW line of these. I also have the Cartoon line that they made and I agree, there is something off about them

I think the grey bodies with color headbands is exclusive also. Kinda like that color scheme.

Yeah, it is very jarring with Mikey being this aquamarine, while all the rest are so similar in colour. I know it's been a thing, but is there going to be a tipping point where like the vast majority of Turtle collectors are gonna say enough is enough? Or shall we continue to play the unlimited Ninja Turtle game and soak it all up until we end up being that weird girl (that I think now identifies as a boy) that is considered the biggest Ninja Turtles fan.

As I said on the Pixel Dan review, I do like how BST AXN are carving out their own niche apart from NECA and the others. It's not like Super7 just doing updated rehashes of the original Playmates toys. I might grab these as they're unique enough to justify it. Am intrigued by their Urban Legends Casey, wonder if that line will continue...

But that's all we need is an updated, modern version of the vintage figures we grew up with. We dont need them trying to reinvent the wheel every time. We also dont need playmates to re- re- re- release the same old toys, that seem to get lower quality in various aspects. I mean, what did they do to the rerereleased Movie Star Turtles? They look nothing like the vintage originals.

Good review. Not a big fan of the idw turtles designs but I'm interested in Shredder and Krang.

Loyal subjects are cool but I just wish they made 6in scale figs . Not going down another rabbit hole in a different scale when I’m wrapping up my toy collecting . I have their showdown in little china fig but just wish it was bigger .

Are those TMNT III neca figures horse mounted?!?! Insanely cool.

Yeah dude these are some of the best articulated and individually sculpted turtles I have seen, I want them, but wish they didn't have those little imperfections at that price point, I would love some mafex IDW turtles

BST AXN figs have weird joints. I only got Slash, and may get Tokka just because I like the bad turtles. My Slash's head doesnt even swivel or turn. It's glued stuck staring forward.

Have no knowledge on IDW but I thought they looked horrible when I first saw them, try heating up their feet to see if u can get the foot hinge to move, might be the same as the WWE elite feet which don’t really move until heated

Bst Axn QC absolutely blows. They just don't care enough... just the right amount to take your money and then never improve. Just my own feelings. I bought both of their Mirage 4-pack box sets and basically I have an arm that falls off of Michelangelo from a plastic deformity that SHOULD have been caught, two foot ninjas with sheared broken hip joints and weird bow-legged stances, bent weapons that don't stay in anyone's hands, paint smudge abnormalities that apparently "passed inspection" on the eyes and shredder mask... basically, everything sucks and was a disappointment. I spent 65 a piece on those box sets when they were priced that high everywhere, and it was a total waste of money. Now they want 100 more dollars of my money -- and these that you have are supposed to be exclusive??? I shudder to think what would arrive in the mail for the cheaper retail figures coming out...

Also I think removing the wash repaint and panel lining would make these epic they are a great sculpt

The standard releases don't have the wash.

I got the SDCC exclusive Raphael with gold chrome motorcycle (yes I knew I was overpaying for what it was) and right out of the box the motorcycle foot peg was broken off and his left hand falls off easily. I don't think its worth the $30 for a cheap wash and glossy paint finish for the SDCC exclusive Turtles. I did however order the other 3 regular paint ones from Amazon for $20 to complete the team. I don't think these are that much better than the Playmates Mutant Mayhem ones sold at Target for $9.... they're about the same size.

the wash imo whit the glossy fishes on them is what made me pass on these and go whit the ones whit the non wash but they look great eather way and lb real here we dont need abb cruches o tmnt turtles at all

I saw everyone on clearance but Donatello and I was like nah, then I saw the purple and they got me for $15 each.

The sloppy paint and articulation spoil these for me. I'm also not familiar with these designs, but they're interesting. Did you see the new import Turtle King 7 inch Wandering Swordsman (Leo) pre-order? He's about one of the ugliest Turtle knock-offs that I've seen, but I had to have him to hang out with Veteran William and Blade Master Weng. Super detailed and with a cool ancient warrior vibe!

The BST AXN line is a combination of “let’s go all out on a couple aspects” with “it needs just enough fatal flaws to look like it’s a cheap knockoff that belongs in the dollar store”. How are these passing the initial design phase? And how are people buying enough of these to continue the line? The first set of turtles was absolutely hideous.

I'm interested in these but I swear every BST AXN figure I find in the wild has horrible deco in one way or another. Always a lopsided eye or a mouth panted funky. I also think instead of the wash being a special version it should just be the default especially at the price for these guys.

They’re ok. A good ways better than the older bst axn stuff but there’s a lot of qc issues that hold them back from being truly great. Hopefully future releases fix those issues

Hatter, I am really vibing on the aesthetic as it is based on the IDW comics series which I collect. The wash and paint apps also separate them from other lines. Too bad about the QC on your Leonardo's gear. It is wonderful how your love of stickers gets love with the eyes😄 I will look for these and am curious what the differences will be with the standard release. Great review and outro pics✌️

I want to like these so much but something is just missing the mark for me but I can’t put my finger on what.

We've been in dire need of good IDW Turtle figures for a while. These are great, but I really wish they used another artist like Dan Duncan or Sophie Campbell to base them off. Mateus Santolouco's art style is very unique, and he's the most recurring artist throughout the books, but it's just a little too chibi looking for my tastes. I wanna see these versions of the characters in a more traditional style.

😬 These things are _FUUUUGLY!_ I mean they do capture the source material more than any of the previous Turtles stuff; but as an artist, I just think the IDW Turtles are horrendous looking. It's mainly due to the pretty much lack of a beak (and large eyes), so they kinda look like overgrown freakish toddlers. It's awesome you dig the designs though, so not tryin' to rain on anyone's parade with my 'in the minority' view. I don't own any of their Turtles stuff, but absolutely they're getting closer & closer to Jada/Figuarts/Mafex kinda aesthetics.

Like BestAXN but not feelin the IDW designs here. I’ll take a Liefeld turtle. I said it. BOOM!

I love the differing body styles but those head sculpts... Just do nothing for me

Playmates has torso movement.

I personally think these look dirty. The wash is too heavy. They don't look that grubby in any of the art work, or the comics. Love the figs themselves. I think these figs need some line work added to make them pop even more

@@casey_jones. IDW stands for Idea Design Works. Their turtles comics used to be good until issue 100th. Afterwards they changed writer and it turned into absolute garbage, just like their other licenses.

These look kind of cool, I do like the sculpts, but those knee and elbow joints are straight up ugly. I also have a hard time trusting the loyal subjects. I've had some crummy QC from their action vinyls in the past, and those were simplistic compared to figures like this.

OK, you asked for it.... The quality control is poor. Multiple reports of loose arm joints. Color paint is not well applied. Many areas not well painted. Articulation wise leaves a lot to desire. #theloyalsubjects you almost got it....

Solid review but the design of these are WACK. Not very good. IDW trying to be unique but straying too far from the classic look of TMNT is just plain wrong. The best versions are when they all look alike, brothers if you will & their weapons & personality define them. I like the all red masks actually but will accept the multi color look if need be. Will probably only get Raph, he looks classic..will paint away those weird pupils. Leo is okay but not good enough. Donnie is ridiculously thin & Mikey’s green is so off putting, eye-sore!

Mmm....i dont know about this line. Im just not digging it. I like the Mutant Mayhem figures more!

I don't like these style of Turtles, they actually look awful to me but then again, that's my opinion 😂
