So many saftey procedures ignored, Tim better hug those kids and his wife because he is at very high risk at not coming home again . No High Vis clothing or vest worn while on the scene, no Traffic cones, flares or any other traffic control or warning devices used on the scene, Working the wrecker controls on the traffic side of the wrecker and even worse while on a busy freeway, allowing passengers of the casualty ( broken truck) and himself to stand in the kill/crush zone ( between the wrecker and casualty) Tim, I am not hating on you but I am saying this in a very stern voice cause I do not want you or anyone else to get hurt or killed by not being safe on the road! Its a true fact that at least one tow truck driver is killed every six days, thats not including ones that are hit and just seriously injured. Please be Safe!

I agree with all the safety precautions not taken, but I am most surprised that as two fathers you didn't advise the young lady to stay outside the crush/kill zones. At one point she was exposed to direct traffic on the driver side of the trucks.

You should all have a safety orange or green vest or safety coveralls on when working that close to traffic !!

I just went to say the same but seen your comment, the company I worked for the owner made it mandatory, but since he owns the company it's optional. Safety is #1 whether you own the company or not and playing this game, it's a very dangerous occupation, always ranked in the top 3. Then I scrolled down and seen so many comments, I hope Tim takes them all seriously next time.

when your running your tow, you need a safety vest ( Hi Vis vest) it would help look more official. Also get some cones to put behind what you are working on to give more warning. you have lights on the truck but they can't be seen over the trailer.

$90K 😲, So in other words you really don’t want to sell it. GP TRANSCO here in Joliet Illinois is selling 2021-2022 trucks for less than that and with less than #400K miles on them.
I am not a hater, Tim. You do have to admit that you put yourself in bad situations. Your high visibility shirt doesn't do you any good covering it up with a dark hoodie. Please use some common sense before you get yourself hurt badly or killed. Jeezus Tim.
This guy has no business running a wrecker. Especially out on a busy road Timmy has shown he’s not a very bright character. But he fits in with thousands of morons out there driving trucks these days.

Hi Tim. I've been watching and enjoying your videos since the fire. I'm a retired 35+ year banker who, until the last couple of videos, has only watched you fixing broken stuff, which tells me nothing about how you generate cash flow to run your company. Today you showed us a reefer on a trip, and the boat hauling videos and related commentary give insight into the things at Gentry and Sons that work well every day. You have provided us with a better understanding of your whole company. And I never thought the tee shirt sales would float the company. Please keep doing what you are doing and provide us with entertaining videos. And thanks for sharing your family with us.
Have to agree with the high vis comments Tim you can't make videos if you end up playing hood ornament 😊😊
I’d do a compression test on that engine, so you can try to plan the in frame, doing it on your timeline is much cheeper than when it’s broken down 2000 miles away with a driver, and a load.. get those injectors remanufactured, and get a rebuild kit on the shelf..
Tim I learned one thank while driving a truck. Keep the old trucks.the new one have all that DEF on it and my. Freightliner sayed in the shop two or three times a year. And a lot of the problems was the DEF system not working like should and the parts was not Cheap
BTW, Don’t drivers carry ‘FLARES’ anymore or even triangles? When I drove I always kept at least #10 -#12 Flares in my side box! And 2 FIRST AID KITS, the Troopers LOVE ❤️ to see that. I think all Professional Truckers should invest in or learn about AED’s (automated external defibrillators)… Especially night Runners like myself, I’ve noticed over the years, Emergency Response times are terrible and getting worse every year. You could save somebody’s life, even a child and someone can also save your life as well.

I’m still waiting to see what actually happened with Steve from FSC trucking on that boat 🛥️ escort after he got stuck in the ditch. That escort was a total disaster, there’s no way they should have been on I-75, I don’t even understand the DOT even giving them a Permit to run I-75 😲🫣. Maybe they decided to just Delete the footage. Who could blame them? All my years driving, I’ve NEVER ever seen anything oversized do what they were doing on an interstate, Not even with a State Police Escort. The States usually give big Oversized Loads SPECIFIC ROUTES TO TAKE and it’s HUGE $FINES$ if they deviate from those Routes. I’m still SHOCKED 😮 from watching that video. YIKES 😱
If I now you and dad this truck will be back on the road in no time 😊
It's always great to have a tow truck or two on hand when you have a good fleet of trucks. New equipment spends more time in the shops than old equipment does.
Good video brother y'all take care be safe. Brax is learning the ins and outs of the business. Both sides driving and mechanics end of it.
I go back to school 3 months earlier to learn how to work on these new trucks. And it's not bothering me to do it. I'm learning how to work on the emission stuff and everything. And actually when it comes down to it's easier to work on, but if it involves me going back 3 months out every year I will just keep up with the new stuff coming out.

Tim I’ve learned, that you don’t fix what’s not broken,
I'm glad it was a easy fix for you. I've not been so lucky the last year or so I can not keep my truck together. Transmission has went out 3 times. Mechanic shop drove if off the alignment rack and thru the wall. I try to stay up on all my maintenance and keep everything legal but it's getting tough for a one truck operation. I would love to bring it down and let your guys look at it. I know it is smaller. Just a 14 ram 3500 with g56 but it's what I could afford.
Glad you got it going Tim
Thats sad that you have a Tow truck in your fleet, but when you run junk you have to have that extra insurance to get the junk back to the yard... 😅😅

I look at it this way everything breaks down sometime. But you got to look at it this way also at least you have your own tow truck to be able to take a truck out and get the broken truck and tow back.
Tim, u should wear some high visability gear and maybe take a flagger with u to stand behind the truck to direct traffic

If I had come across you doing something like that I would have parked in the lane next to you with hazard lights on..then you would have had a lane cushion for safety. Keep on keeping on brother my freightliner Cascadia has 786324 miles and I'll run her till the frame rots then probably replace it 😂
You might want to stock a high visibility vest or 2 or 3 in the tow truck with the dark colors you blend with the asphalt
Tim Do you need those large orange safety cones to put out when you’re hooking up with the tow truck so that it is don’t hit you it always keep a tire bar in your hand to throw out been in the business 45 years through many tire bars
Tim you need to purchase snatch blocks.
Aye Tim; Be very careful because with new injectors can cause a big end failure to a older motor. I think you will understand what I'm talking about.
Hey Timmy you over night paint expert, prep the front bumper correct, and put away the walmart spray bombs, and your bumper will stay painted!!
Good tow
Tim you should be wearing your bright green vest for safety.
Talk to Bruce down at Fitzgerald they have some trucks down there with no engines. You put what ever you want in them.
That's good that truck owes u nothing all that time an no break downs
I would love to buy it to become a owner op, but it's hard for me after my screw up, yeh still kept cdl's and valid med card for now!!

check the alternator i think a wire is not connected maybe tim bud you have a awesome day ok man
@gentry & sons, Tim have you ever thought of putting the dump truck to work, it seems like there is a ton of construction work and the dump truck can haul
Hi Tim Gentry and Sons and family
No courtesy on that stretch of road I drove on it too much when I was driving, all in all it turned out ok.
The guys with the newer trucks have more problems than the older truck's that have been maintained properly. Just a little computer box can be super expensive and hard to find, all newer motor vehicles including big truck have to much on them.
I want that kw. Just make sure it will do 78 on cruise n 80 on pedal with good boost
People just don't care about tow trucks working alongside the road but if your going to be in the tow business get use to it we hook trucks alongside busy roads like that everyday just part of the business it's not for the week at heart
