I heard of people doing this but never actually seen it. I have seen some amplifiers used in car audio where the connectors themselves welded to the contact points on the amplifier.

Going to show people shows them the right way you cannot hold the rod with a jumper cable hold the rod with vice grips and then put the jumper cable on the vice and you can use two batteries can get a lot better then what you were doing
