He was essentially banking this whole angle on that moment, because without it Jericho would never get booed. He was glad the gamble paid off.

For four minutes, I kept thinking, “If he’s trying to go heel, he’s failing miserably. They’re cheering every single thing he says.” Four thirty happens, and I go, “Ohhh, there it was.” Jericho is just entirely too good at what he does. I like how he almost slipped up and said “pro wrestling” when talking about Garcia’s comeback. And I love how he said “We use our REAL names in the JAS - and my name’s Chris Jericho.” 🤣 Just gold, man.

This role only works because it's so based in truth. Nobody else could get away with The Influencer gimmick because it's so specifically rooted in his experience. He's almost like a FarCry style cult leader, and it's incredible.

This is cheesy as hell, but it's SUPPOSED to be, and it's being done well, because Jericho knows how to do real promos, not this shit where one man just pisses on the other saying they are weak and they suck and blah, blah, blah. He did an interview with someone, I think Chris van Vliet, where he was talking about why you shouldn't do promos that way!

I'd give it awhile before you declare it since it s only a month old. My favorites are Le Champion Jericho & WCW Chris Jericho.

Jericho can get anything over I would listen to Him read a damn shopping list. I kind of miss the kayfabe stuff but I LOVE how much more we can appreciate what these guys actually do now.
