How Farms Work by Ryan Kuster is a KZread channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin. Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like. These videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us and we look to educate the world on many essential agriculture topics.
How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.

Your cinematography is incredible.
That was an amazing view of both tractors running side by side bailing
60 years ago I was doing haying on our New Hampshire dairy farm. Being young at the time I loved the work, especially after coming down from packing a dusty, dirty hayloft in the evening to get a 16 ounce can of Budweiser beer. WOW, that was the best tasting beer ever after that kind of work.
Loved the video. Thank you for showing us non farmers how a farm works. Without farmers, we couldn't eat. Be thankful we have people like your family farming to feed us all.
As a kid I would have watched this for hours.. Now I'm 60 with Parkinson's I found this and have glued to it. Was raised in east Tennessee now i n North little rock Arkansas. God bless our farmers
All the hard work on that field has paid off. Travis should be so very happy . Good stuff stay safe
Hi Ryan, It is great watching you and Travis make hay. It has been 55 years since I worked on hay with small bales and hand sacking on trailers! You make it look easy. You make more hay in 4 hours than we did in 10 days. Innovation in equipment has sure cut back on the manual end. Love the videos. Stay safe and godspeed.
Glad to see the new baler up and running and happy to see that plenty of bales are being made hope everyone is doing well
Be glad to see the kicker working!

Love that old silo - with the 2 bales side by side...perfect just perfect - no better farm photography on the net
Been watching your videos Ryan since you started they are all great videoes but the best one of all is when you proposed. You can tell it's haying season as someone has cranked up the heat to 100 Stay cool !

When I was growing up my mom used to say “ it’s hotter than billy blue blazes”. I never figured out what that meant. But I knew it meant we were going to be baling hay. All small squares back then. Lol
It's fun to watch you and your family work together and farm. I used to help my grandpa and my uncle's farm when I was little and I remember learning how to wrench and how to do field work in my dads 4020. Never the less, I enjoy your videos.

Congratulations on a record of the amount of hay bailed. Despite the number of problems… I really enjoyed this video especially seeing two tractors in the field at the same time in the aerial views❣️❣️♥️♥️
Thanks for including how you fixed the different issues you ran into. Good reference material.
Thanks!
Great job! Thanks for taken us along.
Another great video!!
Love the teamwork guys!
Awesome video. The most I made in one day round baleing was 225. Great job guys
I'm no expert, however, from where I am, it seems like the productivity has gone through the roof. That can never be a bad thing. Travis put a great plan together, you guys executed well. Awesome!!
Ryan, have you and Travis talked about getting bale 2 or 3 bale accumlators for the back of you balers. That way when you drop a bale you can keep them in a line or one general area. Not a JD dealer but I've seen them in use on JD balers and was impressed with on how you can keep them all in one localized area of the field or waterway. Saves pick up time, saves fuel, and keeps traffic on the field localized to a few areas. Having been the kid picking up bales years ago with a just a loader up front and bale fork on the back of a 4320. The 1/4 sect of grass we baled took a couple of days to get back. And driving on hay ground always seemed to stunt it in areas. Just a thought. Great video, truly enjoy watching you and your brothers videos. Bring back good memories.

Hey Ryan you can add a roller in the top to the gate of the 569 the help keep the belts tight while dumping. It's an auxiliary take-up roller.

"That's a wrap!" I see what you did there. :) There is something really fascinating about both raking and baling of hay. I think it is because it is out in the open and you can see what is happening. Planting or side-dressing is kinda hidden. Love your videos!
